Why on earth would you put a limit on the number of bots you can report?! This makes it seem like bot protection than caring about the actual player base experience. I just can’t fathom why you would restrict your player base from reporting bots that y’all claim to be “taking care of” and “taking seriously with 0 tolerance policy on botting.” Which is just laughable at this point since I’ve been reporting the exact same ones for over a month that’s blocking game play on Zosma. I can’t even change servers without losing everything I’ve paid for.
I understand F2P games will ALWAYS have issues with bots especially when you fail to implement secure login but come on man It’s now been over a month of me reporting the same bots with photos and vids.
Yeah I have been taking screen shots of the names so I can check as a reference. It’s beyond ridiculous that these bots are being reported and they have done absolutely nothing.
As far as I can see some of the spammers I have reported earlier were banned but to my surprise some of them I have reported 2 or 3 weeks earlier weren’t. (Accounts spamming Area Chat every day, all the day…) :o(
And yes, of course, I found this after I had to unblock somebody when I met the 100_blocked_IDs limit.
I’m sure they weren’t blocked coz of a non-existing system. ;o)
(Yes, it’s difficult to run an automated system for this but it’s obvious that they did not even try.)
all i can say for sure is that i have reported bots that are still running one week later
but i cant say for sure that even a single bot got banned due to my reports.
so if you combine these 2 it makes reporting worthless to me, maybe it works if 10+ people report but how often is that the case
I mean report does not equal block. If you are talking about “You cannot block more than 100 Players,” that has nothing to do with report.
You can block someone without reporting them. You can report someone without blocking them. It’s only convenient to report and block advertising bots, because you don’t want to see the spam in chat.
You are absolutely right.
On the other hand when I report a spammer I help the community by the reporting itself AND I help myself with the bundled blocking. The second part is very important too. At least for me.
If they create incentives for reporting bots then it’d start feeling like mandatory content and/or like they were pushing the responsibility off onto the players. This is why there are no rewards for reporting bots. They spoken on the topic and stated that they’ve considered such systems, but have decided to avoid them for now.
imo, the simple solution is to remove accounts from block lists automatically once they are banned (and perhaps increase the limit.)
what? who is talking about rewards?
It would be enough of a reward if you would see the obvious bots you report being banned and not still sit around a week later.
