Here is another answer, uninstall it, go play something else.
People should stop coming to the forums to complain about being bored, it’s completely useless drivel with zero chance of spawning a meaningful discussion

Feels more or less like going to live in another country while having United States ideology and expecting “equal rights and privilege’s.”
However, these people fail to realize the culture and laws are different. Still, they go around expecting these cultures and laws should be changed because they said so.
It lacks content. Endgame for me is using my char, skills etc. to farm. But instead I’m supposed to run around map picking up stupid mokkoko. That’s not content…
True… I hate the time gated stuff. If you really look at the rewards you get from the time you put in to this game, they equate to next to nothing.
It’s a very time consuming game and worst of all, you’re forced to play by their timers when it comes to Chaos Gates/Islands/Field bosses/Grand Prix etc.
I understand this might be great for some, I myself have thousands of hours in PoE and I love grinding, but when your grinding is hindered so much that the rewards you get are just simply not worth the time, it’s another matter.
I am still logging in, doing dailies and then logging out, not sure how much longer that will last for me.
It’s been fun, but I think they went about some core aspects of this game the wrong way. Not enough monster killing–even though this game has some of the best combat I’ve ever seen in an ARPG (yeah, I’m not conceding, this game is not an MMO). Too much running around clicking on random things and spamming G.
Worst of all, you don’t get to play with friends often. We had 6 people online all playing solo. When we get to anything instanced we all get split up anyway.
Wrong. The stat boosts from collectables will outweight some douch with only a high ilvl that just sits in town complaining how bored he is…as long as you are also farming gems too!
Maybe in KR, but I think the people interested in that here will be a handful of people.
What did you expect? If you play a game for only one type of content then eventually you will run out of stuff to do.
Just go play something till a content patch is out.
“Everyone” can’t make it to T3 if a significant portion of “everyone” has already quit.
The game is in a position now where the jigg is up. People see it for the P2W, mile wide but inch deep disaster that it really is.
It’s a slot machine, mobile-esque game. Western PC gamers by and large hate that stuff.
Not even remotely true. Literally have no idea what youre talking about. Alot of F2P players are already catching up to the people who dumped thousands of dollars early on to progress. It’s not hard to progress in this game if you make an honest effort.
Western gamers just dont like slow-paced progression and have this idea that a game should be able to be played 12-13 hours a day and their progression reflect based on how much time theyve spent in the game. The game isnt made like that, that’s why its gated in the first place with dailies/weeklies/weekly vendors to obtain materials, gear, etc. Western audience loves instant gratification for putting in a days work and if they dont get that serotonin boost, everything is just wrong in their eyes.
An actual intellectual
“Yes the game can feel like it wants you to open your wallet and spend, but that’s why you need to have long term goals and other things to do, it’s easy to fall into temptation, spend a bunch but you won’t feel any better for it. When the grind is getting you down, when you’re done for the day, log off, come back tomorrow and try again”
Yes, you’re addicted, you want to progress now, but for your own sake, log off, watch something on Netflix, play something else then come back tomorrow fresh.
If you play in the moment you’re very much in for a bad time.
If people don’t like the game they shouldn’t play it. I’m not in the habit of spending time playing games I don’t like. Do you know anyone who does?
I mean compared to what, mythic 15s or heroic raiding…? All mmorpgs are gonna have the same stuff. The joy comes from discovering it all or hitting max level, after that the project is over. Start over or wait for new content, which isn’t really new it’s just higher item level or a new zone.
I’m not looking to make an “effort” to “progress”. That’s what I do at my day job.
I’m looking to have fun. This game isn’t fun. That’s the problem.
Yea that much is evident. That’s why the player base is rapidly plummeting. Game isn’t fun so people are quitting in droves.
Yes games require effort to progress. MMOs are a grind and require effort to see results. Literally every MMO requires effort to progress. Be it meeting certain gear checks, knowledge of a class, doing repeatable content to achieve powerspikes through other power systems.
It may not be fun to you and thats fine. This game targets a rather niche audience that isnt particularly liked by most Western audience.
If you already look at progression as a job, then it sounds like youre not even looking to play an MMO. Being efficient and it feeling like a iob arent relative to eachother. Its all an individuals mentality.
Most of the Western audience dove into the game without understanding how it really is and functions. Its a great game, but its not a typical MMO the Western audience is used to.
Also I find it funny you guys say players are “quitting in droves” when you literally have no statistical data to prove that. After the honeymoon phase, the playerbase has been quite steady on a daily basis.
I mean the game isnt all about the vertical progression. There is so much more in the game to expierence and enjoy plus alot of things you can do outside of honing and gathering mats that benifit you in the long run.
So let me try and explain again.
I’ve played MMOs my entire life starting with EverQuest. I love the genre, though what it has become isn’t so great at the moment.
When I say “effort” I’m referring to the fact that you’re doing stuff that typically yields nothing, is extremely boring, and not fun.
At the moment the daily/weekly content in Lost Ark is incredibly boring.
Una’s Dailies are so boring that the thought of doing them forever (on multiple characters even) is nauseating. That’s why they offer the Instant Finish tickets. The content is so dull they know people would rather pay to skip it than a actually do it. That is an intentional design choice.
There are people who would argue, “It doesn’t take long to finish Una’s Dailies”. They’re missing the point. It’s not fun. If you have fun doing Una’s Dailies on multiple characters then there’s something wrong and I feel bad for you.
Lost Ark requires effort, not because the game offers an interesting challenge, but because it is so repetitive it’s boring and unfun. So to play it requires to you to endure the effort in of dealing with unfun content.
To the contrary, I went back to FFXIV and even though there is progression I find it much more enjoyable. The effort coincides with fun, and to me, the content is far more enjoyable. People are confusing what they think they don’t enjoy about Lost Ark with the fact that the game, quite simply, isn’t fun.
Yeah, Lost Ark most definitely heavily lacks fun repeatable content and it requires to do it a lot on top of that. That is a very very bad combination. Una’s may be ok once or twice, but they are an extremely dull chore if you need to do them daily. Chaos dungeons and guardians are fine the first few or 10 or 20 times, but after that it becomes an extremely dull chore too (there’s literally no variation at all).
There’s a huge difference between randomized repeatable content with variable difficulty (e.g., diablo rifts or poe maps) vs easy and completely unchanging “repeatable” content (chaos dungeon…).
P.S. Even if chaos dungeon had a fixed time limit and infinite levels to go through (with scaling rewards) - that would be already much better than current version - at least there would be a point to min-max the build and strategy and every run would not feel the same (even if reward scaling was heavily front-heavy).
The huge grind for gear is annoying because it’s just not fun at all. And at some point you stop to think if the new content you’ll have fun once or twice in is really worth the time. It all could be fixed by just making repeatable content more fun or just add more (waaaay more) of it (different way of variation, I guess).
This guy gets it haha
Literally the thought of going back to Peyto and trying to figure out which entrance leads to which floor makes me not even want to bother. It’s not hard at all, just so fucking tedious
