Apart from how Lost Ark monetizes things, it is a beautiful game… full of charm.
Diablo Immortal is also a good game, but not beautiful like Lost Ark, and it doesn’t have as much to do either.
So Lost Ark is the better game, and the less greedy game too…

of course it is easy to say it this way.
now they are tricking people into buying their crap. you may think, ehy buy it, people are stupid etc. well there are a lot people who fall for schemes.
you know they could just sell thr game for 10000 per copy, but they are not. why? because nobody would buy it. but there are people who spend 10000 within 1 month.
difference? p2w, people want to show off, wants to be “owning” others by upgrading stuff so they can one shot other or whatever
The fact that you need to compare this game to Diablo Immortal says it all. It’s like saying “hey at least this mass murderer isn’t as bad as Ted Bundy!”

unfortunately people got slowly soften up over the last years with small stuff (skins, skin packages, wow token, char boosts, etc.) now peoplr already think stuff like ark pass is totally fair not not predatory at all when it provides more mats than 2 month of playing the game lol

give it sometime, as new content comes out and more and more flashy garbage is available, they will slowly and continually choke us all out to the level at which the next best thing is, and how trashy and predatory they are.
i give it a year from now, when only RMT and bots exist, that is when the REAL P2W shines, they will have to resort to keeping who they have THEN, playing, and NOT worry about retaining new players. Because at that point it wont be a option.

Every time I see someone call skins or passes as predatory I assume they’re very young and still new to online gaming and/or mmo’s.
As someone that has previously played actual P2W Korean MMO’s in the bast, Lost Ark pretty damn fair. Perfect? Nah. But way better than another other Korean MMO currently available now and in the past.
Lost Ark is the better game in so many ways…

the free part literally doesnt matter at all. if there was no free part it would be absolutely the same result. you are selling a giant honing package that is p2w. you leave it out, you are months behind. fair price? wellthat is what they want you to think. by your answer you can see it absolutely works. you think it is great value and fair even though it ia no difference than buying royal crystals for leap stones
never said skins are predatory.
skins are optional content and they can charge 5k for it, wouldnt complain.

At least you can get the stuff through grinding and pity system, but while diablo immoral you can’t get any of the stuff without paying. Not sure you seen endgame farming in diablo immoral rift where if you pay extra, you get actual good loot and if you dont pay, you get shit loot. Even if u farming normally without paying, it’s way worse cause at least lost ark everyone starts at the same level of drop rate. Even if someone pay to buy someoene stuff from AH, you still have to wait for people actually selling it.
well yes diablo immortal was destined to be a trash game from the announcement. i mean it is fine for me because it is a chinese mobile game.
if people play mobile games they are used to stupid mechanics. it just got ported to pc for whatever reason.
for me it is not a diablo game. and i hope this game gets majorly trashed in the west so that d4 could be better
games should keep the money aspect to buy a copy, a sub or cosmetics in my opinion. p2w ruins games. LA is somewhat okish in that regard because tou really cannot win anything at all in the end.
but nevertheless LA is p2w and it wouldnt be necessary but chinese and korean game industry poisoned the whole industry now already and those kids gambling their minds away.
i played a korean grinder a long time before and there was not p2w for the first years, later they introduced more and more cash stuff when it went f2p from a sub model. the game died very fast after that.
guess now it would work as the customers got softened up into that direction already
Well it is to be expected when they first did Diablo immoral reveal. People even white knight blizzard after that boo and think it was april’s joke. Cause literally their quality of their game has degraded. They can no longer live up to their golden era of actual quality games. D3 sure has better graphics, but their gameplay system and how their whole entire games replay was worse than D2. OW2 is basically the same game as OW1. Blizzard is no longer Blizzard, it is just Activision running their game now. I would expect D4 is gonna be the same as OW2, where it is the same as D3.
I agree that LA is p2w in certain aspects of the game, but at least they didnt go overboard on where actual gear isnt stuck behind a paywall like gems in Diablo Immoral.
The problem with this is that we get stupid people think oh because all gaming industry is doing this it should be normal. NO IT IS NOT NORMAL. There are even people thinking about how loot boxes as normal like the Yorz jar w/e that shit is. People only argument with this shit is, you dont need it dont buy it. Yeah, but people want things and dont want to gamble for it. I rather pay for a product and get the product i want just like i want to get a BMW car and actually get a BMW car. GW2 actually sells their skins not having to go through loot boxes.

Games can make money without price gouging. This game’s primary purpose is to be a casino in disguise, not to be a game. Every aspect of it reeks of greed. Nothing is designed with player enjoyment in mind.
They made you pay for using /set players to 8 command.
You could do that in d2 to increase difficulty, exp and drops.
I don’t think it’s fair for single player always on-line game.
I think many people dont understand that when there is a monetized system they try everything to incentivize people to buy it… and thats when it starts to get scummy… oh we got a part of battle pass thats free but turns out most of the meatty rewards are on paid section…
Also f2p games gotta stay alive is a bs excuse… most money earned via mtx goes to company aka to the execs… and the devs have there fixed salary which obviously will get increase in future if game makes more money.

Like i can understand battle passes where expansions are involved where you buy it early and they deliver, but if they start involve stuff that are suppose to be part of the main storyline like what Mass effect 3 did with the ending dlc, which they had the intention of pricing it separate later got a huge backlash. they end up releasing it for free.
The reason for selling cosmetics and highly convenient items, which doesnt impact much of your gameplay is for paying their employees fix salary as they develop more. That i can get past. However, selling like a raid that was suppose to be part of the main game separate is just BS. Even i think gambling lootboxes with no pity is bs. At least Apex legends, able to make sure you unlock the skins and their lootboxes are able to obtain FOR FREE.
That’s a great compliment to Lost Ark I have to say.
