Hello,
I recently installed the virus scanner Bitdefender (Windows 11) and it forced me to download several Windows Updates which I have had turned off. Now when I exit the game, it keeps running in the background (see attached) and even trying to “End Task” doesn’t shut it down. If I want to play again, I have to reboot. Help? Thanks

Look if you have 1 core running at 100%, the “system” process using 15-20% cpu, and a lot of memory being used for no apparent reason while you experience this, then you are having the problem a lot of people have, theres 2 processes that do not shut down or can be killed (LOSTARK.exe and easyanticheat), some people even have them after system restarts (like me). Its not related to windows 11, some people have given possible solutions for this, none worked for me.
The people resposible for this program still havent said a thing, my solution is not touching the game until users find a solution (like it happens most of the time with this game) or they actually fix this. Not gonna play a game to have my system “kidnapped” for up to an hour after closing it.
While typing ^^^^ and about 15 minutes of doing nothing, it finally shut down. Still need a real fix.
This started happening to me this morning. My comp even turned on with LA running and had to restart to fix it.
Now this + infinite load bug I have to restart my comp when my game doesn’t load since I cant fully shutdown Lost Ark. Even restarting Steam does nothing.
Same issue, woke up launched lost ark after my morning routine. Got to the server screen and got disconnected LUL… then havent been able to start it back up. because it wont shut down fully…
Same problem here. I had to restart my whole PC twice and now is happening again.
I cant play any other game while steam is trying to fully “shut down” lost ark… so now what?
I’ve let the team know, there are a few threads on this issue, the main one is below.
this is an EAC issue it is not related to anything else. they have to fix this or we will literally not be able to play the game…
its some b/s update EAC did , i was having the same issue with apex only choice i had was to restart PC
Same problem here.
- Stocking in the laoding screen(s)
- Lost Ark Task delet in the Task Manager ( Steam too). After starting new Steam client - Lost ark is Running, but no task in the manager
- Or Game crashed and I find my self diectly on the desktop
all probs since the last patch and all the probs are getting started after the server merge

Same. After closing Lost Ark i have the “System” process still using 30% cpu.
Interesting, thanks for reporting it’s occurring in other games too!
