That’s one thing I noticed right away on this game. Not a hi, barely a gg at the end…
Yea, thank god they changed. Instead of knowing players to help or msg one of the many who do it as a service for some currency. You pay the developer for convenience instead. /s
You could just run to where you wanted to go. “Want” being a key word here since when you logged on you did or worked towards whatever you wanted. Not what the game tells you.
You were not being controlled by the mighty system clock and dailies.
Older MMOs had a different pace. There was no constant sense of urgency.
Oh no, 20min of running when you’ll prolly spend the next 2-6 hours in a dungeon with people.
it’s not like older MMOs lacked travel systems anyways. DAoC had horses, Anarchy Online had the Grid, Ultima Online had Runestones and Moon Gates. EQ was just designed that way.
I have been able to talk with randoms and joke around with toys like the frying pan and transformation stuff. But i am also the one that initiates the interactions majority if the time. I don’t mind it if i get ignored here and there since it just be like that at times.
If you expect someone to make interactions 100% of the time then you aren’t going to really get any. Make your own social interactions if you expect so much of it.
There’s enough social content in raid pugs. More than enough
it does suck the social restrictions between servers. i did a oreha hard today on my alt and 2 of them were grudge 1 enjoyers who literally died the first min but me and a striker carried it and the striker was super cool but there is no way to add them or play with them again.
Idk man I’ve been having a blast playing this game by myself.
It’s like imagine you walk into a bar… no people… open bar gg
classic 0 IQ take.
Yet, at the same time, if you don’t have a social group to do content with, you will fall behind and not be able to clear anything. As random players are just terrible at… everything.
Just had a 1462 Gunslinger in my Dark Yoho (1370 Guardian) the other day. 2-Set Relic, 5x3 engravings, proper stats. Out performed by my 1385 4x3 Sharpshooter alt.
The game is terrible at keeping a group of people together, but you heavily depend on being together with people on your own wavelength.
Been said before but the unfortunate truth is because of apps like Discord you’re simply expected to use it at some point, whether it be to find a guild or to simply run a raid. I think a majority of game devs have caught onto this as well. Why bother adding more social features and wasting the team’s time when there’s already a popular third party app that does it all for you and allows people to organize themselves in their own way? I don’t like the mentality behind this and think it detracts from the game…but it is what it is unfortunately.
it is sad because you are the one who was playing alone. While some of us still having fun with our discord group
Lost Ark is not an MMO.
I think it has a lot to do with the games graphical perspective. I think if it was a 3rd person game like FF or New World etc… It would be more immersive. This game does need more group activities that are actually fun, mario cart was something, but ok at best. Like mario party like activities on the regular. As the one person mentioned… Time gating content within the game doesn’t help…
This is like path of exile, but a slightly better curve to “mmo”. Actual multiplayer. ![]()
I heard rumor of unreal engine 5, but I know nothing about that… Maybe fiction.
Every character can have their own Guild, which is the problem. Since everyone only logs to do dailys but have 6+ characters to farm Gold from, no one sticks around for long. That coupled with limited Guild member slots, which is very low overall, the Guilds feel empty.
What needs to happens is something like Black Desert Online, where your account is tied with the Guild, so any member who joins can shuffle around their characters but remain in the same Guild. And an increase in Guild member slots helps too.
Yep I hated that Albion was so hyper focused on groups. I prefer to be able to do most things alone and raids with a group. The friend system is lacking and joining a guild should put your whole roster in, but we have discord now and my static group has people in several guilds.
Hello, welcome to reality. None cares. I ve been playing mmos since two decades, from teamspeak to discord. Always been like this. Ff14 works for you without them? Great. You have your answer
I don’t see any rework that big happening soon, or ever.
well valtan hard for my guild made us social more ![]()
why though?
what do you like about that system?
Found one of the guys that can’t make friends unless the game forces people to talk to them.
found the 2005 newWannaBegamer that barely play, dosnt interract with anyone, and pay to finish his games.
