Lost Ark More p2w than ever before

The only real way to combat this mentality is to make your own party and invite players who meet the minimum requirements. Players will feel inclined to get an “Easy” ride from whales always and if there aren’t options on the board for players to join with the minimum spec a lot of misinformation will spread to further gatekeep players mentally. Whales like to live rent free in a lot of peoples heads and be respected as experts.

Exclude them if you must honestly, show them you do not need them. But the culture and change kinda starts with the guy who barely meets the requirements but has clearly put forth a lot of effort to get there, grouping up with players very similar to him. Whales unfortunately will always seek to exclude, mock, ridicule etc; unless they are feeling “philanthropic” in their efforts (offering carries, doing lower content for “free” etc.).

Sucks but its like this in most MMO’s in the first week or so of new content.

Things will get much much better as more people reach the end game raid.

Thats why there really is no point in spending “a little” money.

Either spend a shitload and reach the top, or just go F2P and progress with the masses.

So much less stress.

He will do that two times tops. Because he will build a group for an hour or two just to wipe one minute into the fight for five times until the group disbands. There is a reason people are using every tool they have to filter out leeches/underperformers.

My suggestion is just a proactive suggestion to what will happen naturally anyway. Underperformers and leechers will find their way into parties you cannot reliably weed them out via the eye test.

Ah yes having +20 weapons and an extra 3 taps on your armor will filter out all the bad players. So smart.

I’m roster level 160 and beat gate 1 with minimal attempts in an all dps party and in gate 2 always survive until the end. If you correlate 1445 ilvl with “leeches/underpreformers” you are a big part of the problem I am referring to in my post.

Gatekeeping on the basis of having a few more taps or slightly higher damage is nonsensical. Only way to find out if people are bad at the game is to play with them.

Sure. But as a leader do you take the 81 roster 1415 guy with 3/3/2 or the 135 roster 1430 with 3/3/3/3. It’s not even a question.

If you are a DPS (without a guild/friends/static) in an MMO you are competing with hundreds of other DPS for a spot. The only way to get noticed and having a chance to get this spot is via high item level.

From my experience (160 roster 1445 ilvl), people take the 90 roster 1450 ilvl over me and it’s just so frustrated.

It may sound like I’m crying on the forum but really just feel like venting lol.

I am a support. I will cherry-pick a group tomorrow for Valtan HM.

Thats disingenuous and deflection or the point went entirely over your head. The point is a “requirement” is whats viewed as necessary to get through content adequately. Once a player meets the minimum it really just boils down to first come first serve, the only time distinction or nuance is made via roster level or ilvl after exceeding a minimum ilvl is on a individual preference.

For instance the mass perception on NA/EU is that Argos P1 requires 3/3/3 and 1370 for dps. If you meet that you’re getting into most groups. The difference between 1384 and 1370 is irrelevant and you wouldnt be picked over another or kicked in most scenarios unless you showed up in the finder at the same time. You most certainly wouldn’t get randomly kicked out of a party either. This logic applies to literately all content. You meet a minimum, then it’s first come first serve unless you simultaneously pop with someone who is challenging you for a spot.

+20weapon will never be a requirement for content until Brelshaza because you don’t need a +20 weapon until Brelshaza. unless there is substantial evidence that is adopted and aceepted en mass by the community nuanced distinctions between gear do not have a significant impact on whether you get accepted into a party on a regular basis. However whales have a small window of opportunity to spread misinformation or be extra selective when bleeding edge new content is released because there is a general lack of knowledge. So the default assumption is more stats make the encounter easier. Though that is false. Regardless after a week or so things will level out, OP will be able to get into parties. Though I do recommend he get 3x4 at the least as that will most likely hinder him moving forward. Even if your engravings technically do more than someone with heavy armor in 3x4, running 3/3/3/2/1 looks scuffed for HM.

I am a support. I will cherry-pick a group tomorrow for Valtan HM.

Also hilarious you would try to peddle this angle as historically supports tend to get in with lower requirements. You don’t even have a typical raid experience. Get outta here lmao.

Stop malding. This isn’t my first MMO/competitive game. Don’t need to get personal because you don’t like what I say.

You aren’t competitive you play support, we’re not the same. Stop.

I hope that we aren’t the same, lol.

If I’d play DPS I’d have a guild that kills HM day one. You think I would play this game every day and struggle to find PUGs for hours?

4x 3 lvl engravings is pay 2 win ? 4x15 is something must be, and its very easy to obtain if u made your character with 3x15 you wasted pheons.

i guess it sucks, im glad im not there yet and won’t get there. Progression in this game is joke. With this said, the game has this system, so first it’s the game to blame, then most of the people are stupid and I would add even bad in terms of skill, if they require people like 50 levels above the one required.

So they finish the job basically, making this bad system even worse, and with all these trash things happening. Nothing to do. And I bet it’s only gonna get worse. I am at 1370, and the same happens with the hard mode oreha. I can do them without problems with my spec, but most of the groups are not accepting me. See it as they are just non-skilled player that can only do that content when overgeared lol. Maybe helps. But for me it’s the truth actually.

You can always do normal mode, it’s way easier to find a party because more people are 1415 than 1445, and easier to get in a group being over leveled.
You still get a few bones and not doing hard for one week isn’t going to kill you, there’s plenty of time and you’ll still be running valtan even when vykass is out.
Even doing normal now puts you way ahead of the curve.
Things will ease up in the coming weeks and you’ll be able to go in to hard with some experience under your belt.

Honestly just make your own group if you’re confident. I finally pugged valtan hm yesterday even though it took around 9 hours total… our dps zerk with +20 weapon basically died at 90 bars or more each run so practically carried him. Had 1 GL and 1 pally.

It’s more so having majority alive for ghost phase.

I was party leader and so after hours of wiping needed 2 dps since two left and you bet i scrutinized the applicants to ensure i dont have the same class.

I’m happy to be at SA servers, where this isn’t as bad as you described.

What definitely makes this game P2W is the strong gating the community is doing by only expecting top notch builds that require either a huge time sink or money sink.

The better gear itself doesn’t magically make you beat raids easier, but the gating prevents you to enter them to a good extent, or you’ll be waiting for a while to find a group.

unfortunately so many players in this game are so bad they don’t know how to properly check a character. i would suggest forming your own lobbies instead of applying because the criteria of 3 good damage engravings + proper stats at the 1370+ range is also really hard to satisfy for some reason when just browsing through party finder.

Yeah even at normal mode the amount of people that want someone at like 1435 or what not is weird
