Yea no way. People complain because you cant keep everyone happy.
Also some things were changed. TW will have the same issues because that is the core and people will complain in any version

This is true but to the point of having an issue going on for months, it is incompetence of a company.
It is inevitable but can be prevented from going worst like NA (for sure, NA/EU to compare).
Let me read this and i will translate for you guys what it says.
Well I mean think of it this way
TW Publisher probably has all the info on how LA has been doing since Global release
While bots may not be the actual reason for the delay, the bots are in a way impacting the reason
Which is SG not having enough people to work on anything
Because if they did, along with AGS
I know the bot issue would not be solved 100%, but it would be helped a lot more than it is now
Think about when Captcha was released and how long it’s been since we’ve heard anything on it
That’s what I mean
TW Publisher saw how slow things go on Global with all the issues and it would make sense as to not release a product unless the developer is able to be 100% focused on that while maintaining everything else
Because if TW release came with those problems, they also know if there’s any other problems that SG needs to fix that it’s not going to be #1 priority
And that’s the main issue
funny is that they are wasting the resources to delay content to censor classes instead of funneling into the core issues.
Y’know, every single time I see something like this it makes me wonder
Has it actually been said that changing the costumes is the sole reason for the delay?
I mean, I read through the roadmap again and it doesn’t say that anywhere
Just that the outfits are being changed for western norms and they wanted to be transparent with us about that
If you could point to where it says specifically that the costumes are the 100% sole reason for the change, anywhere
I would appreciate it
Because I’ve yet to find it
Someone at Tencent took a look at the state of the NA/EU servers and realized they’re not publishing the money making machine they thought they were and went back to the table to renegotiate most likely.
The initial pitch was when they celebrated 800k concurrent players in NA/EU then shortly after that we seen our first big ban wave, knocking almost 300k concurrent down over night. Now they finalized the deal and the next big ban wave hits right after that, knocking almost 250k concurrent down over night.
Imagine pitching how great the NA/EU server launch was doing only to have to come back and explain that the numbers were highly inflated and there isn’t nearly as many paying customers as you originally forecasted and actual player numbers have been on a steady decline for months after less than a year after release.
To any publisher that is a huge red flag
Yeap, and all of this stuff with Global and TW and everything feeds into another thing that happened back in May of last year
Gold River stepping down from his position
Now I don’t think the guy is as good or even comes close to Yoshi P, but he was taking steps in the right direction and going against Korean MMO norms to try and make the game better in general (again you don’t have to agree with everything he did, but he was at least trying)
Shortly after his departure/announcement, notice how after that the game just started to get worse mechanically for Global
And now not even less than a year after that, there were talks of TW and China publishers going in, and now backing out
Tin foil hat time
Gold River stepping down became a way for other people at SG to try and go back to the old KRMMO ways
Combining that with the success of the Global launch, that would bring people in to expand even more “globally”
All while trying to inflate player numbers, shoo all the problems under the rug and not having enough staff to keep up with everything
Now Gold River is back (albeit a different position) after his health concerns
And everything is in pure and utter chaos
Guy didn’t deserve to come back to all that, I will admit
But the question is if he alone is enough to turn it all around
Tin foil hat off
【Official Apology Statement for Delayed Launch】
Hello dear adventurers:Today I need to bring an important serious news, but first I sincerely apologize to you all.
To all the adventurers who are waiting for the launch of “Lost Ark” Taiwan server, we are deeply sorry to announce the launch has been delayed.Ever since we happily released the announcement of us representing “Lost Ark” Taiwan Server, the management team began to prepare for related matters, which includes communication with the original manufacturer(SG) about version content, environmental version testing, localized translation, Chinese dubbing, additional servers, paying close attention and analyze the status of overseas version, manpower arrangement and supplement, preparation of the official website and event planning, planning limited skins exclusive to Taiwan… And many other tasks. In order to get closer to the Taiwanese adventurers and bring the best gaming experience, we have invested a lot of time and effort.
In November 2022, we met with adventurers for the first time through the elite beta test, and received a lot of enthusiastic concern and suggestions. We also actively collected opinions from all parties, and prepared to meet with the Adventurers again in new light.
However, in order to provide adventurers with a better gaming experience and continually keep the version up to date, after repeated communication and careful evaluation with the original manufacturer, we decided that more time is needed to prepare for the launch.
Before the official launch, we have been distressed for a long time about the servers in other countries whose content revision progress is ahead of the Taiwan servers. Under many considerations and at the same time we also been dealing with the server problems in overseas. Therefore we decided to provide a longer and more complete game experience for fellow adventurers.
For this reason, we need to invest more time to improve the service quality for the official launch. We have to make this difficult decision. I hope the adventurers can understand.
Even if we create anymore reason, we sincerely apologize to all adventurers for the fact that we failed to fulfill our promise.
The management team and the original manufacturer has the same feeling as the adventurers who are looking forward to the launch of the Taiwan server, but we are very sorry for letting down everyone’s trust and bringing such regrettable news.In order to provide better service, the management team will definitely go all out and try its best to present it to adventurers again with a new light.
I am very grateful to all the adventurers who supported and waited for the “Lost Ark” server during this period of time. The accounts and character information created by the adventurers during the preorder and pre-character creation period will be retained until the launch. During the official launch, adventurers can continue to use the created characters, and the rewards for the elite beta test and pre-order will also be distributed when it goes on the market.
In order to express our sincere gratitude, during the official launch, the “Taiwan Exclusive Skins (one per account)” that was published in the online presentation will be sent to all adventurers who participated in the preorder and pre-character creation . In addition, various virtual precious tools that are helpful for adventure will also be presented. (I think they meant some form of compensation)
Although it can only be regarded as a small heartfelt intentions compared to the disappointment brought to the adventurers, we will definitely do our best to show our greatest sincerity.Although in the current situation, we need a little more time to prepare, but the management team will work together and continue to work hard to provide better services.
If there is any new news or direction midway, it will be shared with adventurers as soon as possible. All colleagues in the management team would like to express our sincere apologies to all adventurers, and thank you for your understanding and support.
We are pleased to spread thanks to all adventurers for their support and love
Dam this one sincere apology statement is better than all the AGS combined apology lol.
Yea wtf lol, at least they put effort and apologies many times in the same post and explains why they did it too. All we get is “we do this because reasons and we won’t change” and that’s pretty much their go to answer to anything
Or this has been forward to the dev team and an eternity later… nothing has change…
The delay is “indefinitely”. People are are saying that Tencent financially pressured SGR to delay, so China version can launch first. The benefit weights more than the lost, so SGR breaks the contract and promises the refund and Taiwan publisher agrees with it. Basically the publisher reputation is down the drain for taking the deal. TW people are furious. They think this is the end for TW version.
yeah and thats a problem, we don’t even know the reason, lack of communication/transparency as always.
I guess that one intern over at smilegate who is responsible for all the non-KR regions has too much to do already
to be fair, if i were SG i would have picked Tencent as well. Taiwan’s market is way too tiny to get in the way of a CN launch.
At best Taiwan version might launch together with CN as a sub region server cluster. At worst, Taiwan LoA dies here.
They announced this 5 hours before the game servers were suppose to go live, then they say it’s indefinite and don’t have a window for release. (How do you go this far in development then make a important decision like that) Sure they care, but I would be fire hot if this happened to NA. Can you imagine, game was suppose to be release today, pre orders bought, hype on 10, players waiting to play and now game is good as cancel (for now). I know some of the players are beyond let down.
Man there is one thing in common with all the version outside of Korea that fail miserably. SGR. They spread themselves too thin.
well if they wait on SG to fix their issues with bots they will never release in TW
Korea dealt with their bots with ID verification
Russia doesn’t have a lucrative enough player base but it also had bots in it. they kinda mitigated it by having a client and not going through steam.
i don’t know about japan or TW and what they wwill be doing
problem is that our “global” version
spans 44 countries in europe and multiple more from around europe
and then 50 states in NA and SA and canada
where laws vary substantially between one and another
the changes that have to be made for us must be compliant with every one of those unless they want to bar that playerbase from the game
which imagine the shitshow if tomorrow they say lets say germany can no longer access the game
the bots problem is that bots are much more capable of adapting their systems than AGS or SG is capable of finding ways to detect them
it will take a month for SG to figure a detection method and only a few days for the Bots to adapt to that detection
and if you think it’s a problem of a small indie company it’s not
Riot is struggling with Scripting just as much and at multiple points it was actually disgusting
imagine a 10%~ish scripting rate in a game that has 100+million player base in a competitive game
people that want to cheat will cheat
banning them removing their gold to the negative does nothing
if someone is willing to spend 20k on RMT gold doesn’t care if he gets banned
he will make another account and RMT 40k
you forget that these people that amount of money is something that doesn’t even register in their mind as significant
and you also forget that most RMT is in small amounts that can’t be easily determined
in the scope of few $s
not those million gold accessories
those are the low hanging fruit of the guys i mentioned above that don’t care
Tencent isn’t the company that has publishing rights in Taiwan. That would be HappyTuk. Pretty sure Tencent is banned in Taiwan because of their ties to the Chinese government.
