That’s an issue of capping, then. You know your servers can’t handle max, you adapt, cap, then add the new region. And you -appropirately- transfer things over (the things that you can at least), not make terrible mistakes then refuse to fix them.
To be fair, there was a roadmap leaked prematurely and there was outrage anyway and half of the criticisms on the forums atm seem to be “Release more skins or I’ll quit I already am not having fun” which seems really reductive and a pretty toxic outlook
You can’t use the actions of a few to veil the bigger picture issues though. You’ll always have a small percentage of bad suggestions and toxic players.
Edit: Every game with a roadmap has these kinds of bad complaints etc, and deals with them.
I just want to avoid the devs essentially writing off listening to the forums due to a vocal minority and after our first content update since launch believe we should wait for the second to set the pace before grabbing pitchforks.
Man think logically people will only pay money to flex on other people. That’s why they incentivise whaling because they know humans are competitive. The only reason you buy skins in any game is to look cooler than other people that don’t have them.
In this game there is basically nothing in the game that separates players from each other in terms of pure skill except for item level and cosmetics. In terms of gameplay pretty much everyone plays the same because the mechanics are so simple and people just meta game their builds by watching guides on YouTube or Maxroll. So the only way to ‘stand out’ is to spend money. Korean game devs know this and its why they make their games easy to play but hard ($$$) to ‘complete’.
It’s very simple, you either pay money or time.
I just want to avoid the devs using the ‘‘a few people were mean to us so we can’t be nice’’ excuse that I see in so many games recently. Halo infinite did that a ton, recently, basically fully lying about being a live service game and outrageous shop etc stuff, people kept defending it til it was clear just how much they’d been mislead a few months in. I’ll keep giving polite suggestions and I hope other people do, but there’s way too much of using a few bad actors as an excuse for personal bad professionalism going on atm.
Did you literally even read the article? They already forced Smilegate to create a new region in EU. Why do I even bother linking something if you dont even decide to read it? There was no insurmountable way anyone was going to expect the numbers they had on first week or two of release.
You know that bit where I said they should have hard capped it before then?
I think for more then 30% of the people complaining now its the first we came out of the game and we really didnt want to be here tho , im legit sad things took this turn but honestly i dont have the will to keep trying to say anything i will do my dailies for a week and see what it becomes , if im not pleased i will just leave seens like its the only thing i can do
I mean, if there’s any time to give feedback, harsh if absolutely needed, even, it’s at launch when things are easier to change before players leave etc.
And have several more unhappy customers because they cant experience the game? It’s a lose lose situation my guy.
I understand, I’ve experience other regions and am a bit sad of the pace of things since I can’t play my main until potentially february 2023, and wish we had a timeline on our class avatar’s and such am sorry to hear you aren’t enjoying it - but I firmly believe if we give Smilegate time they’ll make it worth sticking around for.
-Very- short term while the new region is thrown up, sure. Stops the longer term issues we have now (yes, some of that is resolved, but thats mostly temporary off bots being kicked and will return fast) - then there’s stuff like removing the benefits to swapping to EU west (they still havent added back the crystals/aura people missed, if login event=exploit then just mail it or literally give all players the aura directly, not even as an item, or tie it to a one-time redeem code, or literally any other method than just throwing it away so people don’t swap region and just leave after finding out they lost out a ton due to it.
About the authority of AGS, they have full responsibility for our feedback provided. Now feedback is hard to grab in a polluted environment like this, but again it is their job. They need to realize how games work and how players decide if a game worth for their time.
Their choices so far shows us they don’t understand their current playerbase. Releasing Argos itself is not a terrible choice, but prioritizing it over everything was bad. Players are waiting for their preferred classes since games announcement, with the first big patch they are given nothing on this matter. That is the main reason for many people to give up the game for now, at least until their class is released.
Losing 1/4 of playerbase on a patch day should alert them and re evaluate their priorities. I think it was a good choice to delay roadmap so they can change their approach according to feedback. Everything will become clear when they announced the roadmap, for better or worse.
for fucks sake the game is OUT for just 4 weeks in NA/EU. Stop the damn complaining already entitled Snowflakes -.- Amazon has NO influence on any ingame issues and you still drop this BS every day…
The fact that the 24 hour peak is only at 672,776 so far on the day of a big patch when it was 800k+ all day yesterday is interesting
In complete agreement with this, in other threads have seen people say if no new skins they’ll quit accusing people of “white knighting” AGS for explaining how other regions had it and think they’re entitled to all the skins now.
Even seen people posting pictures of the Reaper season 1 avatar and when I pointed out that class isnt even in our version was completely ignored
Because the korean director especifically said he wants the west to catch up to korea so they can release content even faster.
Watch the interview.
Developing new content takes time, but AGS just transports them from KR. They don’t want to rush content, it is understandable. But releasing Argos before any other class is not helpful or satisfying for players. People want to involve in the game, but their big march update doesn’t show any care for the playerbase if anything it seems random.
It’s literally their first update at all, and the game has only been out 4 weeks. Let us just take a step back and wait and see how they further respond with the next update.
