Lost Ark VPN and BOT Problem

Hello everyone ,

I would like to make my opinion about this topics , while is a hot topic and right now is considered to be the main problem of Lost Ark for everyone.

Just a quick reminders , Lost Ark is right now infested with many bots, somebody can’t deny this , maybe there are more than real player .

As you know , at 29/30.04.2022 hat been applied an enforcement about putting blockers for VPN Usage for combatting number of bots or reduce them.

So , we are here in this point: I agree and disagree ,
What is the part that I agree: As you know VPN usage was against TOS , it can have an effect on bots. You cannot say “it’s clearly it doesn’t have any effect” . Look i’m not a professional and it’s to early to make assumptions (it’s not even a week) . And the people that are defending Amazon cause that is against TOS , are also right.

What is the part that I disagree : As you know , many people including myself cannot play without VPN . Look this is my part , i don’t care , if i had to play with 500+ ping (if i can grab mokoko seeds or somthing, it’s enough) , which for many players is considered unbearable. Many players cannot play due to political reason or ISP.

In my case , i cannot play because due to my work , i need to move to a country to another and staying at hotels. What is the problem here? Hotel wireless , most of them are port blocking , you cannot even make a Whatsapp call or connect to multiple online services , even connection to some websites.

Many players , they have a server in his own country , but because they are started earlier to play on Russia server or simply they have friends in NA and his playing from EU just for them . For them it’s unthinkable to create another account after you invested so much, like making alot of friends there, creating raid group ,money and the most important factor time.

It was not main attraction of Lost Ark , having fun , creating alot of friends , respect players time ,raids ? Just because something is against it , doesn’t means it’s should be banned. How about banning every single player which are promoting toxicity , banning them because is against TOS . NO STOP ! . The idea is to find a solution that are effective against bots and not affect player base community .

It cannot? Fine. Make some quality of life for player base , grant them possibility to migrating to another server at least.

And i find a solution , which is questionable. If you are using Geforce Now you able to connect to Lost Ark even with VPN enabled. Don’t trust me? Go test it. You can play 1 hour per day for free just to test that theory.

And my final line: Please respect people opinions , just because i have a different opinion than you , doesn’t mean you can bully mean or call me dumb . We are humans , every single person in here is different.

What I don’t get is : they saw it didn’t work so why they keep the VPN restriction in place? We don’t care if non allowed countries are playing this game or not, the company is even loosing money this way. And like you and me, many players have a stupid high ping without VPN.

they probably don’t work on the weekend, and some CMs have told us they are going to do something in the upcoming maintenance, so we can only wait

Because stepping back would only further damage their lack of reputation and credibility.

They just had to openly admit that they can’t control the situation and don’t know what they are doing.

My thing is, maybe just maybe if they took the time they could actually locate and eliminate the cheaters / bots.

Same IP + Same HWID = Look at, if they have multiple clients open ( which these bots do ). Remove their account, It would take a dedicated staff to this position, as they just pop back up, but it would prevent the long queue times we have. This should have been placed instead of the VPN, im all for PLAYERS not bots, its 5am local time, 3am server ( Us West Mari ). 6k queue wait. The longer this problem keeps going on, the more players will either leave that server or the game in general, Its frustrating to have a game downloaded and go to play and just look at a QUEUE countdown, Its sad when you can join the queue go take an hour nap come back and still not even be in the game yet… If they dont get the botting / Cheating under control soon this game will slowly die off.

Some people aren’t encountering this issue so its nothing to them, right now. But they should notice, when they bots take over, this will happen on other servers aswell.

All of this concept are already exploited by Gold-Farmers.

If it were that simple, we wouldn’t have this situation to begin with!

The biggest problem is still that Lost Ark, in 95%+ of its content, is so much of a simplified mobile-like chore, that it can be easily automated to begin with.

A trained Ape could run chaos dungeons 24/7 :rofl:
