I have seen people say in South Korea your account is tied to your SSN, this limits the spammers. So I dont know how much help with this AGS will get. I think they are kind of on their own here and I really dont know how much they can do with chat filters and restrictions to be honest.
Of course the best way to fix this is no one buy from them but obviously people do.
i love this arguement of “its cheaper” or whatever. Makes me smile whenever people bring it up.
People expect a company to not care about the cost/worth of implementation of different things. Why would a company care about saving money? Or utilizing their budget as well as they can?
The same people complaining about this are raging in another thread for the $15 founders edition not carrying over to another server. Your money matters 100%, yet when you try to say a company shouldnt care about their money on top of it? Very weird take imo.
The only thing it affects is doing field bossed at low levels but even then you. An come back and do them. The rewards from them are nothing amazing at those levels.
All i really see in area chat anyways is people either trolling especially people asking genuine questions for help or people spamming for groups vause they cant find people to do the content they want to do.
@Roxx Please close this thread, there is no point in further discussing something trivial and what has been around in many MMO for a ages and seen as common among players.
To everyone saying that if getting to level 30 takes longer than a couple days, you’re playing the game “wrong” - just admit you’re a bigot.
I’m level 24 after a week of playing. Why? Because I work full time with a home and responsibilities to take care of. I play maybe a couple of hours every night and in that time I try to complete as much of the adventurer’s tome as I can before moving onto the next area. I also like mokoko hunting and fighting area bosses. Area chat made it feel enjoyable to just chill in an area and not feel rushed to get to end game. Just because I play the game different to you, doesn’t mean I’m doing it wrong.
Now that chat restrictions have been implemented, lower areas feels so much more deserted and isolated. On top of that, gold sellers will now just hack en masse to level 30 so what is even the point? Come up with a better solution instead on penalising new players.
While that is true we have 5 months of New World to show they dont use it. The only thing that cut down gold seller spam was the massive decrease in population which lead to a massive decrease in the demand for third party gold.
They certainly do, however as a new player I can’t recall any other platform with as much spam traffic that I’ve seen over the last week, which is most of my LA life thus far.
My block list is typically empty on other MMOs, but this one’s stacked.
You’re failing to understand I have never said anything about anything being a race, that’s your assumption. People with the most minimal of time who play the game casually and slow still are outpacing you.
You’re literally talking about assumptions and judgements yet you’re being that little hypocrite yourself lol that’s pretty pathetic and tells me all I need to know about you.
But we already know chat restriction for area to level 30 is not combatting it. Its just something to make it look like they tried when we all know it does not stop them or hinder them for long. Like you said its in every damn game, personally I just block them at most. Usually I ignore it because I know nothing is going to happen to them that matters.
I dont have a guild and know 1 person who plays so while I may use area chat very little, I still have some use for it.
It takes atleast some amount of playtime to get to level 30, these bots only care about their time. If they have to spend the time to get lvl 30, then get banned and repeat. It loses them more time and cuts into their “profits” quite a bit.
Im all for the restrictions. Keep it up AGS, good to see SOMETHING being attempted.
There was no assumption, and I said nothing about race. You make a blanket statement about a nationality right after you did so with this gaming community.
Not sure where I was being hypocritical, simply calling out your ignorance. That was I needed to know about you, stranger.
I never saw the same frequency in WoW trade, albeit the game is far more mature and the player base was constant, opposed to this influx during LA’s launch.
I didn’t play enough FFXIV to make a judgement there. SWTOR didn’t suffer from the same level of spam, and GW2 certainly does not.
Edit: Bear in mind that I’m not singling out LA at all. In fact, it’s what I expected during the launch phase. I am simply criticizing the initial response to it.
Level 30 is too much, have many activities that people use the chat to communicate. It is an MMO, the point is the social part, and chat is a big part of it.
Bots are bots, they will just bot to level 30 and spam.
