If only I had a cent for every time I heard someone say this about ags in the past… I’d be a rich man
“literally doesn’t matter anymore”. Really mate?
If you repeatedly mess something up(big time) at work, will your boss say “the damage has been done”, or “what’s in the past is in the past”? Will he encourage you to do better and move on?
No, that’s not how the world works. You get negative feedback according to what you do. Negative feedback is what drives forward change(look at final fantasy how they turned it around, or the miracle of no man’s sky)
This positivity, while noble, is naive, and unfounded. We as players need to voice our opinions in the hopes that they actively listen and learn from mistakes, which they showed they’re reluctant to. They did do a few things that are commendable even for new world, but they drowned in a sea of mistakes and instability.
So nice how I sat the whole day in queue, came into the game 30 minutes ago and now a maintenance is coming.
Come play EUW whilst you wait - you probably wont want to leave XD
Yeah right ![]()

Pointing out chances for improvement is important but it’s also important to give credit where credit is due. If someone is improving, even if there are many more things to improve on, the improvements must be acknowledged. Otherwise people will, and have already imo, get stuck in a mindset where they just look for things to complain about, instead of looking to actual improvements.
Claiming positivity is naive, and unfounded is really not true. It’s actually harder to stay positive in the face of adversity than to just give in and join the complain train. You can just look at games like LoL. Games where everyone stay positive even when others mess up have a much higher chance of a comeback compared to games where the chat gets salty and considers the team doomed after the first mistake.
Smilegate just did choose the wrong partner for servers. AGS failed everything they could fail, not just in Lost Ark. New World is another good example. Smilegate isnt to blame but now we have to live with AGS as Server Provider.
I agree with what you say but with 1 important mention: I’m not talking about positivity in general… I’m talking about blindly defending ags in the face of predictible issues… this is not their first rodeo, not their first mistake. That’s why I say that in this case, it’s naive. We know better… at least some of us
They’re supposed to improve. Patting them on the back for making 1 step forward and 2 steps back allows them to continue doing the same, and we need to be real about it. It’s more than fine to praise when things go right, but this is not the case
15 minutes notice in game lmao
i’m glad at least they are doing something
sadly i don’t think it will be the match making but the aura can be a good starting point
Sadly I think so too.
I guess stuff like aura, which people pay money for, is of more importance. This is understandable, but still matchmaking is a bigger problem for most players I guess.
I am not even sure IF they can fix this tbh, its definitely due to the heavy load on the servers because of all the people playing - Dunno how much is possible there, and how fast it can be developed/implemented.
To be fair, I’ve seen both 2 hour and 1 hour notices for this one… Which is way better than the one a couple of days back, when the post about the maintenance was posted on twitter a few seconds after i got kicked and the same on forums… At least they gave us a 2 hour heads up this time
Totally false, they announced the maintenance at 10 PM CET
Just an update, here is official info about the current issues and the maintenance: February 20 - Update on Current Top Issues
Great, we have announcement 2 hours before shutting servers down, its actually not a peak in EU and info about it. Im pleasantly surprised, good job !!!
I completely agree that we need to voice out our feedback. And you are more than entitled to feel frustrated and voice it out. Just like I did! What I am seeing tho is slivers of change.
- Not doing maintenance during peak play time in EU.
- Announcing it in game 3 hours ahead.
- They are working Saturdays and Sundays.
We are getting our point across and they are working on a solution.
The message has been sent.
I am not trying to invalidate your point at all though it does seem like so. My wording wasn’t exceptional by any means.
I am just feeling encouraged by some of the new changes I am seeing and by the fact that some CMs here are pretty present and they reply with the information they have.
I think we will see things improve.
What I mean to say by “the past is in the past” is that there is nothing they, ASG, can do about it now. They acted on their initial decisions to create less servers, they acted against not having 2 regions from the beginning knowing the number of people that would flood the game.
And they are reaping the “benefits”. They’ve lost a ton of people’s respect and their reputation is tarnished. It will take many many intelligent and focused decision-making to bring the player base on their side. So I get you.
I am just also acknowledging the good that we’re starting to see.
And I guess I am moved to see people working on a Sunday…because of some suits that made the wrong calls.
With all their faults, and I am not defending a company by any means, but they have the best servers…fortunately, unfortunately…they have the best servers. The servers aren’t the issue. Is the fact we didn’t have more than 1 region from the start. The people flooded the servers, pushed them to the max and technology started breaking. They explained this very well in numerous posts. So it’s not the servers’ quality here.
Oh, and I would also like to throw in another thought. New World will never compare to Lost Ark. It is a game that has failed before. It will die out slowly and surely. What is different this time is that ASG isn’t alone in the decision-making process. They are collaborating with a successful gaming company called Smilegate that knows, for the most part, what they’re doing. So this is a reason for hope. I know I probably sound delusional to a person that has become super cynical, for good reason, but I do think that Smilegate, to a degree, can teach these people how to do things the right way. Not to mention that we really don’t know who was behind the initial decisions. What if Smilegate said x amount of servers would be enough. Who knows, really…
On EU we have daily maintenances so that Amazon can replace the fried server with a new one after each day.
They knew how many people are coming and didnt prepare for that.
1,5m sold Founder packs and their servers cant even hold 80% of them.
the free to play players still come on top of that of course
The game ran pretty smooth in the first 3 days before the official launch. Sure there were queues and they should have added more servers from the start so people could spread out more…
I think up to this point things were still ok, I think the big mistakes were made at official launch. And the results of these we still experience today.
Indeed. When they said they are running on the max the system can handle, it was quite literally the max and beyond. To much pedal to the metal ![]()
