This is just tunnel vision. You aren’t considering how much rebalancing would need to be put into the game if they were to make a change like this. The sheer volume of shards you could funnel to one character to push their item level would be stupid. Shard bags from Chaos Gates would absolutely tank in value, and they’d have to set up a whole slew of countermeasures to restrict mains from having this sort of resource gain. Sure, it’s a bit frustrating having dead-weight materials on one character, but this is a poor suggestion.
Just as an addition, if you are only asking for life shards and harmony shards then you can ignore that part, but the logic still applies. You would trivialise a character’s progression to 600 → 1100, and it would be done in a matter of hours if you utilised resources properly. The same applies, but to a much lesser scale of course.
Im refering to shards yea, fragments or leapstones are already roster bound/tradeable anyway so thats already fine. But shards are kinda like a currency and I dont see why they are not shared between your alts
i mean, if you want to change that, you need to modify a lot of stuff in game, and prices will go pretty down for shards, cuz having alts make a lot of shards
The only tier where Hamony Shards are the bottleneck is tier 1. You don’t trivialize 600-1100 because at that point leapstones are your gate. Besides, mains should be able to make alts easier. Why does this matter? When they introduce the honing rate buffs when Valtan comes alts can literally be through tier 1 and 2 in a matter of hours if you’re patient.
I’d be happy if there was some other use for them.
I don’t necessarily want them roster bound (though that would be good too), but if you could use them for something like skins/cosmetics/stronghold things after you’re done upgrading that would be excellent as well
This, 1000x this. Start with just the shards if you HAVE to. Then move on to the other stuff. But dear lord anything (Bound) is just a pain of a system.
With shards in particular the game does a horrible job teaching a new player that they for some reason differ from most currencies and are bound. There’s nothing to indicate this in the Currency Inventory. There’s nothing to indicate this in the description of a Shard Pouch.
That’s why I’m in the same boat as many others. 130k Harmony Shards on my main, while my alt is starving for them. This isn’t even a matter of flooding the market with something. I already own the resource through gameplay and if the game did a better job at explaining they were bound, then I would have known to keep them in their bag form. Now so much of the rewards from islands etc. are simply a waste.
I think that at least T1 and T2 should be account-bound. From T3 later perhaps only from t4 again char bound. The whole possibly also simply with a deduction system, so that other chars have fewer resources. Always you can research from t3 a reduction of the upgrade costs
i think its fine as it is. i got 60k honor shards and over 100-300k of harmony and life shards. i only use the honor atm, but ill be making my T1 and T2 set +20 aswell for the fun of it. sacrificing a +15 for a +1 seems like a waste for me, seeing as i spent a long time to grind that set out.
