i mean, if you want to change that, you need to modify a lot of stuff in game, and prices will go pretty down for shards, cuz having alts make a lot of shards
The only tier where Hamony Shards are the bottleneck is tier 1. You don’t trivialize 600-1100 because at that point leapstones are your gate. Besides, mains should be able to make alts easier. Why does this matter? When they introduce the honing rate buffs when Valtan comes alts can literally be through tier 1 and 2 in a matter of hours if you’re patient.
Lol. Shards are the absolute bottleneck of T3, just not until you hit 1370.
Post is asking for tier 1 and 2 shards, so I still fail to see how tier 3 is relevant. Keep tier 3 as is.
Like I said, if the OP is only talking about T1 shards then they can ignore what I was stating about T3.

I’d be happy if there was some other use for them.
I don’t necessarily want them roster bound (though that would be good too), but if you could use them for something like skins/cosmetics/stronghold things after you’re done upgrading that would be excellent as well

This, 1000x this. Start with just the shards if you HAVE to. Then move on to the other stuff. But dear lord anything (Bound) is just a pain of a system.
Yes, change it for tiers lower than current, so right now all T1 and T2 should be roster bound. T3 stays as is.

The same here , all in this game untradable and bound need to be a roster bound
With shards in particular the game does a horrible job teaching a new player that they for some reason differ from most currencies and are bound. There’s nothing to indicate this in the Currency Inventory. There’s nothing to indicate this in the description of a Shard Pouch.
That’s why I’m in the same boat as many others. 130k Harmony Shards on my main, while my alt is starving for them. This isn’t even a matter of flooding the market with something. I already own the resource through gameplay and if the game did a better job at explaining they were bound, then I would have known to keep them in their bag form. Now so much of the rewards from islands etc. are simply a waste.

I do understand why AGS/Smilegate have to do this even tho it’s a shitty system.
they also need to make money and also prevents new alts to skip progression (aka “the grind”).
a better solution would’ve been having a notification warning/pop-up explaining char bound before opening it. for newer players
I think that at least T1 and T2 should be account-bound. From T3 later perhaps only from t4 again char bound. The whole possibly also simply with a deduction system, so that other chars have fewer resources. Always you can research from t3 a reduction of the upgrade costs
i think its fine as it is. i got 60k honor shards and over 100-300k of harmony and life shards. i only use the honor atm, but ill be making my T1 and T2 set +20 aswell for the fun of it. sacrificing a +15 for a +1 seems like a waste for me, seeing as i spent a long time to grind that set out.
I’m all for them being character bound, I just wish there was something to do with them once you didn’t need them anymore. Trade up at a 10:1 ratio, rapport gifts, something.
Noooooooo but all the money you can make with them on market now because they are not roster bound 
but ya syrsly make them roster bound. Even if this is collapsing the market. And pls also make the other upgrade mats wich are bound also roster bound. I have 15k t2 stones on my main and can’t trade them to my alts …. I don’t want to just throw them away….
I thought originally that these shards was roster like Gold. since you could select it as a currency to show. I was shocked when I started to see my other characters have different numbers for shards. I understand you can sell and trade the bags but I don’t understand why it’s not cross roster for currency to use for all characters. This makes as much sense as if they made Gold for each character seperate. I know this is a old post but by now I thought they would have done something about it.
