Male priest class?

My apologies at your offense.

May your day get better sweetie

Thanks, same to you.

There’s no room for new gameplay features until the current massive technical issues are fixed.

Plus, Amazon has to contact Smilegate to do this, since they’re the devs and they’d have to also implement it on the other regions, not just here. The game will be the same for everyone, despite features being released in korea first.
It’s up to Smilegate, not Amazon.

I would see that as a positive

Smilegate has already stated that they’re increasing gender diversity and options in classes. They’ve already announced female berserker, for example.

Yeah I have heard about upcoming female classes. Haven’t heard anything about male classes, so so much about “gender diversity”. So a male Priest and Wizard would be appropriate as you currently have no option as a male mage in Lost Ark.

Smilegate will most likely work on getting the classes that are available and not in the game yet before planning any new classes. Also a male priest would be fine as long as it wasn’t too much of a ‘healer’ this isn’t that kind of game

Why not? A healer does not have to be just healing, see Priest class in WoW for example. Or are you saying that all classes have to be DPS classes?

That’s why I said “too much” of a healer, did you read what I wrote

Obviously I did but something as “too much of a healer” is quite vague. If you mean not too many healing skills then yeah I guess, as long as you have enough support skills to be able to fill the support role.

I apologise, we’re talking about a class that’s probably 1-2 years away and is basically a fever dream with no recognition from the developer. It’s gonna be pretty vague my dude, next time I’ll bring my concept art and body pillow prototype

Well the fact that it is not recognized by the developer is a travesty. There isn’t a single male mage class in the game which to me speaks volumes about the gender stereotype, that males can only be brawny DPS classes, that Smilegate is perpetuating.

Have you seen Armen?

A priest class would just be being useless 99% of the fight, then at your moment of glory, the priest deems himself important enough to make the killing blow and take all the credit for himself!

And who says that a male Priest class has to be exactly like Armen?

A male Priest would be basically a male version of the Bard, with maybe more focus on healing and shields.

I mean sure, the gender/race locks can feel bad, totally understandable. Since the classes and genders are locked for an apparent reason of having to make entirely new set of animations to just have both gender options for them, it’s not something that is being done at this moment.

I literally steer towards bard/sorceress simply because of the sylvain race, and I would LOVE to play a paladin but the bulky male aesthetic is not for me, I was not born to be a gigachad :frowning:

I do not know what classes KR/RU regions have that we don’t, and if those classes bring the male healer/shield type of support to the game.

Well I checked the list of upcoming male classes and they are ALL DPS classes. Not a single caster/support class, which is ridiculous because I always play support classes in MMOs but in Lost Ark I am stuck with Paladin because the Smilegate developers are sexists and refuse to give us male options for support/mages.

I am going to throw a wild guess based on “hearing” from other people. Apparently there are not enough supports and there is heavy complaining about that in Korea.

It’s because people rather see big numbers and big dick DPS than play a support. Why design more supports when they are going to be heavily underrepresented? I mean that’s probably the case design-wise. It’s not cool for the common player wanting more options, but spending time and resources on something such as support classes when people don’t play them enough is purely about the money.

I would like to see some proof of that, people dont want to play support classes. They are popular in all MMOs I have played and there is no reason why they wouldn’t be in this game. Except if Smilegate designed this game to be just a DPS game, which might be the case, considering that all classes, except Bard and Paladin, are DPS.

I suppose you could visit the character creation screen, see the percentage that plays Mage/Warrior, then the percentage at Trixion of who actually chose paladin or bard.

Like I said, I threw a guess. It is just my anecdotal take, I’ve seen and still see a shortage of people who want to choose a support, be it Overwatch, WoW Classic or otherwise. Being a support main means you lack damage, and lacking damage means you have greater troubles clearing some solo content in Lost Ark or elsewhere.

Maybe the reason in this game IS that bard and paladin can only perform well as support, but in those other games it might be different.

Your identity has both a support version and a selfish version, multiple attacks have tripods that lower the damage your team recieves while in it and you have 2 attacks that also buff your team’s damage.

How odd that you “always play healers”, but didn’t bother to check Paladin’s skills and tripods before making this post.
