You know damn well that they don’t have that capability. Jesus, they can’t even ban bots permanently that are reported.
Sorry bud, some people have jobs. I literally do not have more than 1-3 hours a day to commit to this game on days I work (I work 12 hours per day). I used this game to unwind and relax after shift. It absolutely is not reasonable to play anymore with 2-3 hour queues. There was literally a 16k queue at 7am this morning. I have managed to play around 600 hours and level to 1400 but that’s it. I used to be able to play every day, now I can’t. That absolutely is because of the queue and not on me. I pay cash to play this game because I don’t have time and I enjoy supporting games I play.
i mean, if u haven’t registered ur credit card, u won’t lose any money, and ur using a small amount of gold ingame to pay for the aura, which does not effect u personally because u don’t lose any real currency.
like i said, do like me, don’t use real currency, and spend ingame gold to buy aura, it’s free, u don’t lose anything, and whenever u get on the server and play u do have the aura effects on you
Doubt any card company would allow you to do a chargeback in your case
This reads as “I’m salty that there are poor consumer protections in the EU and I think companies should be allowed to con people out of money for services they don’t provide.”
This is true I know you have a point and have right to get your money I just don’t understand how every one is crying now about this. Sorry your post just hit me in wrong spot.
The point isn’t to get the money back. I truly want this game to succeed. Sadly AGS/SG does not. They care only about their bottom line. The way credit card disputes work is actually pretty straight forward as I’ve had to deal with them in the past when merchants refused to communicate regarding returns within policy. The card company reverses the charge instantly then allow the company to dispute it. This process can take 60-90 days and if they find in your favor the money stays if not it goes back.
Once the bottom line truly starts getting affected (even if temporarily) they will have to respond. This is a business after all. That said, it’s not feasible with Steam’s chargeback policy to reverse charge them (as others pointed out). I think Steam needs to be flooded with refund requests and support requests. Anything to put AGS and SG on the spot. Submit requests through Amazon support. They’ll either fix it, or the game will die. It’s sad, but MMO’s come and go. It’s ultimately AGS/SG’s decision if they want to continue to grow the game or to kill it.
1 dollar is too much for this absolute pile of dung.
I guess you’re just the type with low standards in your life that would be thankful for any garbage.
I completely understand, I’m sorry you guys in the EU have been in this boat for so long, I didn’t know it was that bad there until now. Hopefully with all servers affected they’ll give a damn, but I won’t hold my breath. I think they’re going to milk this cow until it dies and then move on. They’ve known about this problem for months.
Like every asian MMO game it’s going to die to poor managment. But I still belive they are trying and are just scared of taking any radical action.
I worked in the credit card industry for over 11 years and specifically with arbitration for visa and MC. If a person was able to get a chargeback through legit reasons say services not rendered or received, (which would be through disputes) Steam would be in a very bad position to close an account over it. In fact if they did that to enough people they would loose the right to use visa with their merchant bank. The only way they would be justified in doing that would be if the person initiated the chargeback through fraud ie lost or stolen card. Because it has been done in false pretense they could close the account. At the same time most likely the claim would be found to be false since they have an existing relationship and a chargeback reversed or not done.
Its a thought however with the rules on how chargebacks work it is very unlikely that one would be done through your issuing bank. You need a reason for it. Unfortunately the only one you could go for would be a dispute claim of services not rendered and or received. All steam would have to do is show how many hours you were on the game and your claim would be denied.
In my country I could log into my bank account, charge back any purchases made within the last 180 days and have the money back within an hour. No questions asked other than the fact that I would have to kiss my steam account goodbye.
While tempting to some for sure this is not a solution I’d ever recommend.
Wow that is cazy. They certainly do not do that here in the US. Even with floor limits of $25 its hard to get your money back. And 180 days is crazy. Things may have changed but I believe here they say if you paid on your balance than everything on the bill is verified by you and can use that against you to reject a claim.
They should let players with aura skip the que imo.
I can tell you that I’ve put in a ticket requesting compensation for exactly this. Aura paid for, and unusable due to the constant queues over the period of weeks.
I asked simply for an Aura extension, due to server unavailability.
My ticket was replied to that same day, explaining they could not do that at their level, and would escalate it. 14 days later, with no response, I requested an update via email. I was met with a one liner, “We cannot provide or offer any compensation on this case”.
So if you find out differently, I’ll certainly be looking into another such request.
Please oh please follow OP’s advice. I beg you please. Bye bye steam! Not just lost ark, but literally Steam. Try to create an account again? Good luck
My steam account is worth exponentially more then what i spent on this game to ask my CC for a charge back.
A better solution would be to start a class action lawsuit, as there is NOTHING in TOS that explicitly states the game will be unplayable due to login queues and wait times.
Hence im sure you fight it in court saying the game is baiting you in paying money for a feature you can not play, that says you can play, if you have something like a crystal aura which was paid for in real cash on top.
Its all big companies policies, really. I charged back the first EA Battlefront with my bank and gave an explanation as to why; it sucked (in a nutshell). Bank was with me all the way and gave me my money, many months went by then suddenly it gets taken out, and I see EA was given the cash.
They went out of their way for one person… for months, to fight the charge back. Greedy. They then proceeded to not ban my account, but ban FEATURES in games unrelated to Battlefront, so I told them, yes, TOLD them what to do, and they unbanned the features and replied one line, “We don’t like charge backs.”
Since then, I haven’t touched an EA product.
Yehaaa this is the game I like to play …when ppl get gifts everywhere and even if they cheat they get something nice woohoo this is the new world we are going to have
