I mean just think about the risks critically and then come to a decision.
On the one hand, we got the fact that absolutely nothing is encouraged by the devs and publishers. On the other hand, we got the fact that absolutely nothing gets you banned, at all.
People use dps meters just fine. People cheat and get couple of days banned. People RMT and get 3 days bans.
I think it’s safe to say it’s OK to use mobalytics overlay.
Careful wording at play here. They aren’t saying that you will get banned. They are not saying that this is forbidden. They are saying that its not “approved”, which can mean that they simply didn’t check and whitelist it. Very vague and inconclusive.
how hard do you think it is for “website holders” to type Lost Ark TOS compliant??
Dont mean its the truth.
So i think its a good idea to ask in here first, before just trusting 3rd party apps
The overlay reads data from the game, hence it falls under the policy. It’s also not expressly permitted, kind of a catch all. I’m just telling you the facts, do with them what you will. I think you’re looking for someone to validate you wanting to use it. In that case just send it, likely you’ll be OK. What I’m telling you is if you do get caught, you know it’s against TOS so you accept that risk.
I’m not exactly sure what more you’re asking for or need? You seem hell bent on using it no matter what, so just use it. The overlay application reads game data, even without modifying any of that data it is against TOS. The same way DPS meters read data.
You’ve been provided all the info on various aspects and linked to a post on the matter already from Roxx herself. I don’t know what else you want? A notarized letter to your house informing you for the fourth time how it’s not approved? Just use it and take the risk. Or don’t. Up to you.
You don’t get that “not approved” is not the same as forbidden. Notepad is not approved for use along with Lost Ark and is also a third party program. You think that you shouldnt open notepad while playing lost ark?
No, I understand what it means. When I played I may or may not have used similar programs (the LA holy bible). What I’m saying is those “not approved” programs can still get your slapped with a ban if they feel like it. The discretion is on their end not yours. You think if OP uses it and get’s caught he can argue the semantics of a CM statement? The player doesn’t get to decide what is or isn’t against TOS, that’s not how it works.
its about , if there is a greyzone in the ToS , and someone is using that greyzone, it can backfire.
it can go good and not .
the thing is , its advert is misleading about the usage. it lets the customer think its ok to use
but if the user gets cought and banned. Mobalytics wont be responsible for using that.
so you lost your account, mobalytics does not care.
mobalytics invested alot in their overlay programs for all that game. its a hughe investment, sure they try to get their investment back from it.
its a greyzone, and users have to keep in mind, that if ags want they can ban them any time.
Haven’t ATK made official content for AGS? I remember the scouter video sponsored by AGS at least.
One can argue that if an (once) official content creator advertises the software as OK it won’t get you banned.
Mind I’m not saying it is allowed, this question is not what OP wants (and many other people, which I can understand). The question is: WILL IT GET YOU TROUBLE? It depends on what the software does and how it works. Will you have a chance to say “but I saw a content creator who once provided a video sponsored by AGS saying it was ok” when appealing a ban? You will. Will it work? Dunno, ask a lawyer, damn.
Hate these situations. Been playing mmos since 2003, always same company behavior. They should just provide a whitelist, damn.
