More male npc to build rapport

I noticed there are really few male rapport available compared to females. The game does a lot of fan service for the boys which is nice but they should also think about their female players. I know so many girls who play the game and complained about the same issue. We also pay for the content so it would be nice for the dev to think about us.

Thirain and Nineveh will be able to reach affection rank in the future in KR. Hope we get that soon after

Oh, this game is so clearly geared towards only straight male players it’s not even funny.

Several times throughout the main story quest, they refer to you as a “he” and as “handsome”. They also have a ton of female npcs putting on a show of simpering for your character and awkwardly flirting. There are even quests both as purple after-quests and island quests where you’re making dates with women/ picking up women and being admired for your prowess in doing so. You definitely don’t have a choice about picking up a man if you’d rather do that. With these things put together, they clearly just assume every player is a straight male. Hilariously, they even ignore the gender lock they forced on you in the first place, which would have been the easy and acceptable solution.

The outfits are also questionable. I’d enjoy sexy outfits on my female characters if they looked badass, but they mainly just look ridiculous and so out of context it’s laughable. For example, the mage character (currently sorc and bard) default starting outfit is a red cocktail dress and stilettos. Why??? Quite apart from how stupid it looks, you’d fall over at the first step you took on that sandy beach in the prologue. The designers clearly just designed even default outfits and ingame gear (NOT even skins) around random male fantasies without even attempting to make them fit in with the context.

The female “butler” that greets you every time and tries to be awkwardly seductive in her wtf outfit is also honestly creepy. I suppose it fulfills someone’s fantasy of harassing a female employee under your protection.

Sadly, the rapport thing is just another drop in the bucket at this point.

*edit: I thought of something more to add:

The walking animations of female characters. So over the top it’s unreal and skeevy.

I noticed this is severely lacking. It’s probably the one thing that made the game feel a bit one sided and skeezy to me

Nice double standards. The 16 pack, nipple showing berserker swinging his huge sword like it’s a pool noodle is realistic then? But sure only the girls get sexualized. There are no cases of male characters that are unrealistic in games. /s

It’s always the same with these threads…

Games are designed to escape reality not to be a mirror of the sadness we have to live in. Stop forcing it down our throats please and thank you.

So post your own complaints in the appropriate thread if you feel like males are being sexualized.
Nobody’s stopping you.

My post that you’re replying to was talking about how the game is geared towards only straight male gamers at the expense of female players, and you haven’t been able to rebut a single one of my statements. Your post adds no value to this thread.

You should take a look at the amount of female players over in korea playing this game. It’s actually quite a lot.
I don’t disagree that it’s geared towards male players. They are the target audience after all, because there is just a larger audience to pull from. I wouldn’t try to market something to an audience that isn’t playing this genre of games. That’s simple economics. Design your product so the target audience will buy it.

There’s still an even amount of unrealistic display of male characters in the game. You are just blatantly ignoring it and claiming the poor women are sexualized and oppressed. Which isn’t true. But you will pull some lame excuse out of your ass anyway and force down our throats your ideal world where the man has to bow down and apologize because you felt offended about his existence.

Fragger completely off topic and banging his own drum.

Silverlark I agree with everything you said, at times it is creepy, other times its awkward. I would like more variation and rapport based on friendship and alliances rather than always a flirt.

You are completely off topic here but sure put the blame on me.

I am trying to make an argument that the male characters are just as unrealistic as the female ones. Because this is a game, not real life. Stop trying to force your ideal into games. LA already got censored because you woke people can’t stop forcing your ideals onto everything. Let us have our games at least.

Ok? I never said there weren’t any females playing the game, so I’m not sure what this statement is for.

Actually, the correct way to do it would be to be gender neutral, or at least not so blatantly favoring one path out of several possibles that you put the others off. Most games do this by referring to the player by their title (ex. “the Champion”, “the Warrior of Light”) and not having any cringingly bad ‘female harem fawning over the manly man’ quests. If you MUST have a gender for some reason, it’s extremely easy to do this in a more equitable manner if you just, as I mentioned in the post you replied to, apply the corresponding pronouns for the gender of the character.

Can you bring the male characters issue to your own separate thread and stop trying to change the subject? Do you realize how out of place it is to come to a thread talking about how the game caters to straight males, and start talking about WE POOR MALES HAVE PROBLEMS TOO SO YOU SHOULDN’T GET YOURS SOLVED? The cis male bias is already an issue in real life that I very much dislike seeing in a fantasy world as well. To give a real world comparison, what you are doing is like going to the Blizzard employee demonstration about women being harassed and not paid equally as the males or promoted, and then saying, “Well, sometimes we men aren’t allowed to take our shirts off in public!”

??? Take it to a different thread.

You came in here talking about this game being creepy and harassing women. The topic is more male rapport options which I am fully fine with. But you came here forcing your ideals into the game. I hate this “the game is so cis male focused!!! give us females more power!” that is going around the world. Let the game be what it is designed for. It’s an artwork. You are welcome to dislike it. But stop trying to change it disregarding how much time and work people have put into this to make it what it is.
I won’t disagree that there is harassment against women in real life. We can see that everywhere we go. But please stop trying to project your mindset into games. Let games be games.

Gotta be a troll at this point, especially since you keep bringing up things I already answered.

But I’ll repeat my answer to this one thing because it’s actually quite important.

But please stop trying to project your mindset into games. Let games be games.

EXACTLY. Keep the bias against women out of the games, and we wouldn’t even have noticed. People come to these fantasy games to play a fantasy world where real life issues aren’t a thing. Women would like this escapism, too. Nobody wants to be rudely greeted with the same bias in a fantasy world that they’re already treated with in the real world.

Can you even show proof of that happening? I have not seen my female characters being rudely greeted. Do you even know they already changed a lot of text in this localization to fit your ideals better? That should be enough imo. If there is some localization errors, point them out specifically and open a bug report. As you already said this is the wrong thread for this.

Rudely greeted with this reality, not literally ‘rudely greeted with a hey ****’…

As for proof:

That’s just some text you wrote. That is no proof, lol. Who’s trolling now?
The male characters do something similar: Thirain for example is hard simping for my artillerist. He always wants to be at my side and throws me cute emotions. That’s just the same as when you go on a date with Sasha as a female. So stop throwing around your double standards please.
If you were adressed as “he” while playing a female that can be a simple spelling mistake and thus you should open a bug report, not trying to project it into something it’s not.

Ok, this proves you’re a troll.

I listed, one by one, points in the game at which we encounter such and such. You can literally go into the game and check it yourself. What exactly were you expecting? Ripped game files from the client and then I upload them here?

He always wants to be at my side and throws me cute emotions.

The metrosexual broness is so far from the creepy female harem idea they propagate and the idea that you actually believe they’re similar is sad. Just stop.

I’m going to just stop responding to you at this point as you’ve proven to be a troll. And honestly, the idea that women should all stop asking for equal treatment because it makes YOU, fragger, personally uncomfortable, is unbelievably self centered.

Yeah just stop responding, thank you. Live in your ideal world where every man services you and kisses your hand. Make your male harem world a reality.

You said in no word where these events happen. A simple screenshot is enough, thank you. Even which npc in which quest would be enough. You just listed random things that may or may not have happened. Nobody can check because there is MILLIONS of text lines in this game and nobody is going to check them all to find the one you were mentioning lol…

You are the troll here. I am going to get some sleep now. This thread will probably be gone when I wake up because it went completely off the rails.

Back to topic here:
I support more male rapports. Bring more rapport options and quests in general. They are a fun experience.

Lol, you actually believe that text can just be typed, but you don’t realize that screenshots and videos can be edited? Welcome to the twentieth century.

Live in your ideal world where every man services you and kisses your hand. Make your male harem world a reality.

It’s people like these who actually actively harm the fight for equality for everyone. They pay lip service to the idea. When the actual need for it arises, they work against it as much as they can, even as they profess to believe in its ideal.

This person isn’t content to just ignore the need for women to not be treated like sexual objects or as being nonexistent otherwise, but actually actively ridicules anyone who wishes for this equality to take place and tries to make it an object of mockery by engaging in excessive hyperbole. This in addition to the constant repeated attempts to change the subject in order to muddy the waters.
