MVP lost most MMR in lobby. Confused about the MMR system

I just played a game where I was on the losing team, but got MVP and the highest battlefield score in the lobby. I had the lowest MMR in the lobby, but STILL lost the most MMR on my team. Can someone shine a light on this system for me? Please add wrinkles to my brain. Any help is appreciated. <3

mvp means nothing, ignore it. There are many posts explaining the mmr system.

Hello HighMage,

Basically the points you get or loose do not count towards anything else but the battles that you have made thus far. The more battles you have the less points you actually get. I have already made a suggestion topic on few changes and I would love if you can comment about it as it relates to those pesky points that you have witnessed been too much for a loss.

To clarify after 30 matches you start getting something between 20-30 points after 100 matches you get less and less until at some point you start getting 6-9 points.

Got ya. I’ll bump it. I’m facing Plat players in bronze so hopefully something happens. If contribution is meaningless then I’m failing to see the point in it all lol. No pun intended.

From what you said, it seems like in the beginning it’s incredibly volatile then it goes down. I’m still surprised that, at a lower rank, you lose more points losing to higher ranked players. I don’t know of a single system that works that way. Usually if you lose to higher players your point lose itn’t as great. O well. With over 400 pvp games played in casual I guess I should have just spent all that time in Comp. Thanks you for the link will upvote.

you get more “weekly points” when you’re mvp for the weekly rewards , that’s the only reason for the mvp.
