MVP wager system?

When they roll out the new MVP system for the west, do you think it would be fun to add a “wager” to the MVP experience? My idea is thus:

While inside the Battle Workshop, players may wager up to 1000 Gold (silver? Pheons? Blue crystals? Battle items? Let’s keep the amounts “reasonable” to avoid abuse) to prove they have what it takes to be the MVP. Winner takes 100% of the pot IF THEY CONTRIBUTE. Available in all content besides boss rush, cube and chaos dungeon (could reasonably exclude all “scales of balance” content I suppose).

Any thoughts? Potential for abuse? Crazy guy with a gambling addiction?

So you want more P2W in your Korean P2W?

Bards are going to steal yo money by getting hit purposely and spamming heals. The weighting for things are already so stupid.

Id lose mvp as a sorc often solely because i have medium stagger abilities. Even if i do more damage.

instead, it would be to wager who is gonna be mvp kekw - and it would be hidden so others wouldnt know who u waged on etc.

like horse racing kinda. That would be fun.

My 3x3 zerk would be seen as underwhelming and i would then grabbed the pot kekw

^^^ Yooo I could get on board with this lol we need to flesh the idea out more. You win the pot under the conditions you specified only if the winner also wagered. You also have to split the pot with the MVP. We’ll call the winner of the wager MVP²

I’ll concede there are some classes that will excel at MVP based on fight mechanics or dps uptime (or lack thereof in the case of supports) but I’d argue that adds to the “fun” of the wager. Shock scrappers can’t be the best at everything, can they?

Can they?

An idea that might sound fun in theory but would be horrible in execution. It punishes classes that are average dps by default, advantages people who can afford to minmax their character, and doesn’t take into consideration other things that might make a person be regarded as mvp even if they aren’t on the screen (clutching mechanics, saving teammates, etc).

Do you want to lose Serenades, cause thats how you lose your gold and your serenades.

I apologize if it wasn’t clear in my original post but the wager would be 100% voluntary, if you don’t contribute, you won’t win or lose; no punishments to dole out. To your last point, the current MVP system is about personal performance; “saving people” (not sure what you mean by this; saving someone from using a potion? Sounds like poor performance to me) or “clutching” (again, what?) anything means someone else lacked the means to perform - giving YOU the opportunity to claim that sweet sweet MVP spot for yourself and come away with the pot.

Being optional doesn’t change the fact that it exists. If a system is implemented, you can be sure people will try to push to use it. And even if some people choose not to contribute, the mentioned issues still exist for those who do use it.

Late game raids are getting more technical due to various mechanics, which the current mvp system doesn’t account for. For example, people getting charmed in vykas G3 can easily lead to a failed run. But if someone had been paying attention to other’s lust meter and quick to react with a sleep bomb, that saves the run but won’t be reflected in the mvp system. Similarly for supports/low dps characters who are last one standing in valtan ghost phase who clutch the clear with a sidereal or in clown bingo stage for getting enough bingos to kill the boss.
