My overall thoughts + helpful input I have gathered

Hello, I’m making this post, in the hopes that the information and experience I’ve gathered from Lost ark, can help inform the team working on it to improve on systems, gameplay etc. I want to emphasize, that these are my personal thoughts, no matter how objective i am trying to be. I will also be mostly sticking to aspects of the game that i already think are good, that could be improved further, as there’s already plenty of information about the acutely large issues present in the game, so i see no need to be redundant.

I will start with some very basic interactions that I do, and don’t like about the game, and expound from there

  • I think the skill systems for each class are fantastic, and unique, and INCREDIBLY diverse. Having played 12 different classes right now, I can say without a doubt I’ve barely touched the surface of actual content there. With that being said, I definitely think there could be some additional information in the start of the game in regards to learning, and understanding the skills themselves. I can completely understand with how many classes there are, this can be daunting and difficult, but often times I felt myself in Prideholm stuck reading through what a skill does, and feeling very much over-whelmed in what skills to choose, and relying heavily on recommended just making decisions for me. If you wanted this to be a player-driven aspect I can recognize that, as guides and discussion are always welcome, I simply felt heavily overwhelmed with skills at the start.

  • Progression from level 1-50 certainly felt like a slog at times, but that is not where I want the focus to be here. I want to emphasize how nice I think the knowledge transfer system is, and I am hoping the limit imposed on knowledge transfer will be increased in the future. I would absolutely love to try EVEN MORE classes in this game, as I haven’t had enough, but ultimately I feel stunted in that, once I’ve used up my knowledge transfers I will have to progress manually in order to get any additional classes, and when I simply want to experience what the class has to offer, I get turned away because even now, I’ve had to do the entirety of the main questline 2-3 times after I used up my knowledge transfers. If the alternative already present will be power passes in the future, this is also fine but I do hope the knowledge transfer system is not simply a “one and done” kinda deal where you do not get additional transfers after they have been used.

  • I know that this game’s transition into the west is still new, and content can be limited as not to over-load players. With this in mind, I’d like to commend you on the event-release of the guardian trials, as I was not expecting normalized content in this game. One drawback I’ve had in the back of my mind has certainly been the somewhat limiting factor of Item level. I completely understand it’s merit, but I would really love to see more of this kind of content in the future, as bringing players closer together in content, can always be more good than it is bad,

  • This is a small, and insignificant nitpick, but as someone who actively works with my guild and discord to trade items around, ESPECIALLY engraving stones, I would absolutely love the option to additional info when I hover over a stone, instead of needing to read the engravings present on a stone, and then going over to my personal engravings Library. Please, do let me know if this is an option that is already available, but I had combed through the gameplay and UI in settings and could not find anything about this. It would save me lots of time when looking for stones I can personally use, without having to open my engravings library to read effects every other stone.

  • Previewing cosmetics, in either Auction House, the cash shop, or via trades, is a small, but incredibly helpful addition I’d love to see in the future. I found myself both during the omen skin release, as well as the animal costume releases, almost to a point scared of making a decision, without going online and getting a chance to look at the full model. I completely understand the difficulties with this system, but something like this I’m sure make many players more invested in combing over the shops, and being even more tempted to get that fancy new skin!

  • Within Party finder, I often have to deal with accepting someone into my party for an Abyssal dungeon, that does not meet the requirements, and cannot find any way to check this on their profile without simply accepting them, and then attempting to start. This is definitely a small thing for me, but it has cause me to spend much longer than I’d like in party finder, simply to start a 15-20 minute dungeon. There are also certainly desync issues at times, where I’ve loaded into a completely separate instance and my team is in another instance. This I really hope is being looked at, and I’m sure you guys are trying to solve these problems.

These are, some thoughts I had on the game. I am only about 700 hours in, and over-all I want to emphasize that this game is generally fantastic in my eyes, with mostly only small drawbacks I see from time to time. As I continue to play, I would love to see how it grows and improves. In the near future I will continue to supply content I deem worth mentioning, and changes I think that would improve content/player interaction. My focus is entirely only on positive improvement, and constructive information I can think of.

I also want to send a personal thanks, out to Roxx for the insane amount of effort they have put forth on here, keeping as many as they can up to date and informed with what limited resource and time they have. I’ve been able to keep a keen eye on the game, and know pretty acutely what is, and isn’t being addressed, making this post for me super simple, and generally more positive information.
