New 5 Leapstone Una Daily

No, we want you to have to help us kill the boss.

Thanks for coming to the island!

oh no, 5 minutes… that’s only 1 leapstone per minute worth of mats. absurd!

you don’t seem to understand why this isn’t true so i’ll try to explain it.

how instancing works on these islands is it will fill up 20-30 slots depending on the island, then after that instance is full no new people can join it no matter what they get thrown into a new instance instead. when a player leaves their spot doesn’t get filled as the next player that joins still gets thrown in the newer instance.

so now say instead of 5 people doing it each instance across 15 instances it’ll be 20 people doing it each instance with 4 instances.

Better ruin the daily than remove the normalisation

Oh wow. I made a post asking about this island and now it’s changed?

Exactly.

That logic would then apply to every island. So I’m supposed to keep going to Spida and Erasmo even though I have the stuff from there?

Okay so then the better solution would be to make it a 4 leapstone dailly so less people are running it for the wrong reason and make a different daily 5 leapstones instead.

How is it stupidly fast leapstone generation? So your issue is leapstones being accessible through una’s period?

You don’t have to be rude.

I do see what you mean about people filling up the instance, with it being mixed with people coming there for differing reasons and then being left behind with nobody else there. So I guess that extra leapstone is your reward for spending 5 minutes to help newbies/unluckies out?

Well the issue isn’t just the five minutes, if it had always been this way then that is the way it would be and that would be that. It takes 30 times longer than it did before and it was already inconveniencing previously because of it being a timed island. So it isn’t just five minutes. It’s making sure you’re there on time, not doing anything surrounding the time the island spawns, setting timers. I think the better solution would have been to make it 4 leapstones and make a different Una give five so it still solves the problem of the instances of the island being empty but doesn’t make somebody trying to min max further inconvenienced.

They were pretty much the easiest, fastest leapstones to get and were out of balance with the other Una’s leapstone generators. And on top of that, the way it was setup allowed selfish people to screw over new players. Both of those have been addressed now.

I do agree it’s not the perfect fix, but it’s miles better than it was before. I’d rather they moved on to something else with their time since they’ve addressed the main issues with this. You’ll adapt, don’t worry.

I hadn’t realized the impact it was having on people being stuck to solo the boss and it does make more sense now. Personally, I have been in this situation and it was annoying but I have managed to do it regardless back when I was trying to still get the island token. However, I did feel like how easy the Una daily was before was balanced by the inconvenience of the island only spawning six times times a day (which only feels like a few since I am not awake all 24 hours of the day). So assuming you are on this game your entire waking time outside of eating/sleeping, it only spawns a few times a day and if something comes up or you look away at the wrong time (as this has happened to me before) you’re stuck with it being one more thing on your plate for the day to worry about or just skipping it, so it felt balanced. I’d much rather do hypno twice than have to worry about scheduling an island when I’m already trying to do Spida and adventure’s island and all of the other timed stuff.

Well, you’re not required to do the island and you won’t be hurting anyone by not doing it anymore. Seems fair.

Yeah, I wish the explanation that @Ippotsuko had given earlier was explained in the patch notes or honestly that this had even been included in the original patch notes at all because it was not. It felt like a punishment for no reason but I do understand now. And thank you for agreeing with me that it is not a perfect fix. Although I do know it would be less difficult to make an Una’s number a 4 instead of a 5 and the other way around but I guess it’s too late for that.

Yes, it should have been listed in the patch notes. That was an unfortunate oversight (I assume).

Is there an una’s task with can’t miss rewards for those islands?

No?

Then it doesn’t apply to them.

Right but eventually there will come a time where the influx of new players dies out, the amount of people doing certain content will decrease drastically, and they will be in the same position (although instigated by something different) as they are now. I have been to these islands during off peak hours and this is already happening. I did Phantomwing once and there were less than 10 of us and that boss IS NOT FUN even if you have been playing for a while and are geared.

yeah i never said their solution to the problem was the best solution possible.
just i like it this way more than the way it was before because of the reasons stated earlier.

there’s probably a few solutions that could have been better and it def would have been nice if there was more communication by ags about it or from smilegate if they didn’t inform ags about it being in the patch ('cus likely something like this would easily get through their playtest for stability if there was no mention of alakiir being changed).
