Love or hate alts, the game encourages multiple alts. Required too strong a word, and plenty player examples using only main - fair enough. But hard to argue that aside from exception players, game is designed around at least 2+ alts.
Problem is guild system is designed opposite of supporting alts.
Probably never happen but would prefer guild system like ESO (elder scrolls online).
-your account joins a guild, not per character. So one char joins, all chars can speak, read, participate in guild chat, activities, etc
-however, multiple guild slots are provided to allow players choice to join not only more guilds but role specific ones (e.g. PVE, raid focus, PVP, etc)
It is not the perfect solution. Not saying this concept is, but something like it would allow alts not to be separate from mains. Even high level LA guilds with 100+ slots won’t have enough for all player alts, hence spams of alt guilds, all separated from main guild chat.
Allowing multiple guild joins would also allow players choice of not being tied to just one guild since all alts would be part of any guild you choose
E.g. current LA guild system actually has best player choice bc can choose per char what guild to join. Could be as many guilds as have characters. So only way to keep some sense of player choice to join multiple guilds but same time allow all alts into same guild is have an eso type guild structure where account joins guild but one account can join many guilds.
ESO max is 5, I don’t pretend to know what would be optimal for LA. To avoid argument let’s just say some reasonable X number of guilds,
