New Players are being Gatekeep/Jailage :(

you know what the most valuable thing is? Spending time on things you enjoy.

If people hate being jailed by new players then its their right to not spend that time being jailed  After all you can’t buy time with money

2hs they could have spent doing another hobby they enjoyed instead of wasting away on something they don’t enjoy

my best raiding experiance was deja-vu brelshaza
no gatekeeping, no stress to finish fast, just playing enjoying the raid, learning the mechs, communicating, thats how the game shouldve been played
the only con was that I had to deal with complete apes that even when I explained everyone the mech for 10 minutes straight - they beraly communicate and fail again, thats also remainds me of so called “expert” parties lol, people calling themselves “Experts” while I teach the mech to others in detail without clearing the gate a single time… get off your high tree already, none of you have some special skills

repeat P2W strikes again
game gunna dies in west just enjoy it for what it is

for a new player, I would highly recommend u join a guild since u don’t have that big roster anyway so guild runs would be enough and u will have plenty of time to do horizontal content and gain those skill points, and eventually, u will be able to join pugs when ur roster become that big and guild runs r not enough anymore but pls I see small guilds are dying and new players being guileless so I hope smilegate improve guild promotion in the game

The endgame is relentless, it’s all about time optimization to do the content fast and swapping to the next character, without any benefit to carry or teach the new players I don`t see much future for the new players.

Welcome to MMOs, it be like that in i would reckon a vast majority of games. Either there is no incentive or the endgame player just takes a break having done everything until the next expansion.

And it all leads back to, look for a community of like minded individuals. They are always out there and it’s a whole lot better than pugging by yourself week after week.

It is a race, if you miss out of content week1 = non stop gatekeep until uninstall.

I’ve actually talked about this with my friends a lot of us would be down to run learning parties but the major problems with are there is just too much homework, raid lock out and the fact we would need to not only use our time but our gold (battle items) to teach. Not only is there is basically no incentive other than feeling like a Good Samaritan but we are essentially punished to a degree if we choose to teach.

So instead we just 6x bus basically everything. Oh well, blame the design…

Sadly true, we got a new guildmate that is like 1475 on his main (reaper of all classes) his roster level is 80-ish but he claims he has played since release (obviously lying), and he is just permadead even in valtan while claiming is because of the lag.

I would add that roster level AND builds > item level. Some people still dont get the memo that you dont use an endurance accessory just because it has the engraving you need.

Lol what new players? I have been playing since release and even i cant get in to raids with my alts.

new player = my alts

All games with end-game raids have this to be honest
You can create your own party that meets your criterion…
Like as a support main when I create a party, usually in a few seconds there will be so much DPS to choose from the list of applications (ofc its normal to choose better randoms from the list unless you are a guildie or a friend)

If you are progging, create/join a prog party
In my other big MMO with high-end raiding, if it is a reclear party and the party wiped 3x, its a disband…

and yeah sometimes people can tolerate being jailed by a bit (like when we have time/off-days)
but sometimes people have only a specific time to play (like in 1 hour I need to go, and will target to clear Vykas hard in that timeframe)

It can’t be fixed by AGS, something like this must be handled by Smilegate, however from what I see Smilegte prefer keep the existing playerbase on treadmills rather than appealing to a new players and expand.

make your own lobby

and if you have a proper drop. zerk i abbandoned could not get 3x3 because i never got acc i needed dropping from mobs.

I play for long time and work hard on my account and open my own lobbies, I expect to play with similar people and will only accept such since I’m trying to clear raids quick after progging it at the start, open your own lobby if you’re gonna whine about not getting accepted.

Hmm as an mmo wet i dont find it any hard to see 10 min movie
There are also guides for gearing and chosing proper skils tripods although gathering resources is atroucious

I see 2 problems for new players.

The first problem is that the small dungeons and raids are not lucrative from the rewards for high players.

The second problem is even if you want to help 50 new players you can only help selected players 1 time because you don’t have the raid access for it. So 44 players are denied the help.

The solution could be something like a mentoring program that takes care of small players and helps them in the early dungeons and raids. And you as a mentor get materials silver and gold as an example.

im talking about muscle memory most new player dont have it yet and have trouble doing the basic of their classe

and if during the fight they focus on their classe and not the raid itself it always go wrong

For the lack of experience portion, Smilegate can create a mentor incentive in the game where those with a lot of experience can run learning parties and get extra rewards for that because we all know a generous person is very rare in this game (unlike Final Fantasy). At least with the incentive, the people who only look out for themselves will at least get something out of assisting others by teaching them the mech in game after the new players watch a guide video or read a cheat sheet.
