I am so sad I didn’t take screenshot from last night live chat where they told me “you have to pay in order to get trusted” then put it together with their article that says “get steam trusted and 2FA and you don’t have to spend a single cent”

there are clearly states in the ToS whats an insult and what not.

for someone whos accusing a company of fraud and missleading advertising, you are pretty incorrect in using terms and facts
world of warcraft has a free to play concept till lvl 20 , which they advertise like that
and after that its a monthly pay to play (p2p) concept , which includes the marketplace, which makes the marketplace a payed service ( btw in that free to play model till lvl 20 you cant use the marketplace and cant trade , same like in lost ark )

Summary:
Few months ago we were told that we only have to be steam trusted and have mobile guard 2FA enabled and we will get trusted status in lost ark within 30 days.
They later changed it so we have to wait 90 days instead of 30 to get trusted status in lost ark (I posted a screenshot when I got this response last month).
Latest information is that we are forced to pay for royal crystals to get trusted status (information from live chat amazon support on March 30.)
Lost Ark mods in support section are useless, giving us false information and automatic useless responses.
I don’t want to invest my time in the game that doesn’t care about players, they are profiting off of bots because every bot pays 10$ to get trusted so they can do RMT.
The game is advertised as free to play but in reality it’s just trial version of the game until you spend 10$.
The main problem: new players should directly be told to spend 10$ to get trusted status, instead of that easy solution we are getting links to useless and false information about how to get trusted status. When new players are told the game is free and then they realize they have to spend the money they quit.

yeah I am way too much into this because I actually had fun playing the game I don’t want to see it goes this way, but yes you are right.
I guess it’s not my job to make the game better and friendlier for new players, but for some reason I am trying…

They are making a profit, but how to maximize their profit with minimal investment is too high of a risk.
Even the captcha on USW where virtually most bots disappeared for over a week (due to being self-developed), was removed although it was effective. If only they had a system where new large sets of “self-made” captchas are created and used each week. And then re-initiate AH and all other bot-prevention restrictions.
I think they are profiting off of the bots, so it’s not really a priority. Like I said every bot pays them 10$ and it’s better for them to have 10000 bots than 10000 players who don’t spend any money.
And the trusted system is now essentially just a money grab, I don’t know exactly when it became this way but my friend started in like august or september and he was trusted instantly without having to spend any money, so I am guessing it became like this somewhere in the last ~6 months
Regarding bots, they recycle or purchase older created steam accounts that are being continuously created since the past, since $10 per bot is too much (each bot needs to make 32k gold to break even).

Which game requires “trusted” status that takes months to get to access basic functionality?
Which game has a “To ensure a safe transaction…” message for 10 seconds every time you buy something?
Which game restricts items/gold that you buy from their shop for 3 days?
Which game makes drastic changes to the whole game’s economy to deal with bots?
No other game. The reality is one of the following:
- They have no idea what they are doing.
- They know what they are doing, and it’s not to “counter bots” or “ensure safety”.
Both cases are equally bad.

I think it’s a guinea pig experiment for AGS+steam (for future games)

yeah but steam trusted is not lost ark trusted, they are in no way connected, it’s just lies unfortunately.
Don’t bother contacting support for anything unless it’s to restore a character.
But yes I can verify that you indeed need to make a purchase of $10 (that’s the minimum the in-game store allows) within Lost Ark itself, then wait 72 hours / 3 days. The restriction will automatically be removed after that specific timeframe has expired.
They don’t seem to care that they are guilty of false advertising / misleading consumers. I’d say take it to your local consumer rights office and pray they start a case against Amazon. Once that’s in motion there’s a chance the EU counterpart picks up on it.

I get it that some people don’t want to spend at all in the game, but crying about how your not trusted status for months because you won’t spend 5€ ingame to get it in 3 days doesn’t sound very smart considering you spend hundreds of hours in Lost Ark.
It’s a free game afterall, but who am I to say how you play your game

and people are still being lied to, the first response we get it: “To obtain Trusted Status the first option is to enable the Steam Guard mobile authenticator, and have a Steam profile that’s no longer a ‘Limited User’ account and is Steam Trusted on the platform. This is a path that won’t require making any Lost Ark purchases.”
That’s not even true anymore. Yesterday I was talking to amazon live chat support and they told me specifically you have to spend money in game. (I can’t believe I didn’t screenshot that message, I am regretting it so much) I made the 5€ purchase on steam 70 days ago and they told me it’s only a matter of time to get trusted. 70 days later I am still not trusted.
If they would just freaking tell you spend 10$ in game and you are good to go it would be no problem, but we are getting bunch of useless inaccurate informations. Even if I was trusted or I decide to buy royal crystals, I will still battle this dumb system because it’s repelling new players, it’s overall unhealthy for the game and I don’t want people to go through the sh!t I did. Because it for sure didn’t stop bots.

I tried to reason him, he is not very bright, he got mad and flagged all my posts where I shared screenshots and facts about what is wrong and he provided nothing. My posts got removed of course because me talking bad about this system is bad for people to read, meanwhile he is telling publicly people on forum to violate TOS (buy korean IDs, buy trusted accounts on black market…) and his posts aren’t getting removed, it’s just so funny.
he is okay with new players having to pay even 10000$ because if the company decides so then it’s okay to do. he also think that “the game is completely free to play” means that you can get everything from the store for free. No point in arguing with him, as I said not very bright.
he also said market is extra service in game and you need to pay money at some point in every single free to play game xd
