I honestly found the Horizontal content more appealing after awhile. Vertical honing just got kinda mundane, stocking up resources for one big Thursday push each week
There is a lot of goodies you can get to help you you out in the Horizontal stuff.

Except they weren’t going to put the honing buffs in at all. This idea that they want to just make money off us is ridiculous. The decisions have been entirely about what we want as players and responding to it. I’m not saying they give us exactly what we want, but none of the decisions seem predicated on this idea that EVERYONE must spend money to progress. It’s just not true.
The pack in the shop is designed for people that want to “Catch up”. If you don’t feel like you’re behind then there is nothing to catch up too. You don’t have to buy anything. Stop acting like just because something can be purchased means that everyone must or else you’re losing the game. It doesn’t work like that and forcing it to work like that is your problem.
Most people are not even 1415, let alone 1460. This buff does fuck all for anyone with a sub 1460 character. Like this positively effect 5% of the player base total.
How far do you think this pack is going to get you? With RNG factoring it, it could get you 10 levels or it can get you 1. The pack is fucking worthless to most people.
The whole game is revolves around GearScore. It is literally the gate to all content. How do you get GearScore? You buy mats from the shop to pull a lever to hope you get a jackpot, OR you use the limited number of mats you can get per week. Then you can make characters to repeat your daily chores for another turn on the lever.
If you want to play the content, you need to pull the lever enough times to get the gearscore. If you run out of things to pull the lever with, you then need to Credit Card your way into more lever pulls. The whole game is deisgned around funneling you into the shop, how do you not see this?
The strong hold buff is the same as others you have obtained at the stronghold and it’s used for your alts. Did you cry about every other stronghold honing buff or just this one?
It’s the exact same as the other stronghold honing shit, get main to X ilvl and your alts will have easier time.
Getting to 1460 isn’t that hard just play the game and you will get there.
The buff is for ALTs, not mains just like the prior 3 Stronghold honing bonuses have been. Its to help keep your alt characters up closer to your main’s level of gear.
So you are confirming the existence of this honing buff that everyone seemed to have been asking for is irrelevant to the game. There was no honing buff from 1370 to 1415 for mains and that was never on the table to be added. For mains they give materials not honing buffs. Hence the free pack they are giving and yes also the option to buy additional ones from the store.
So then why are you upset that people can buy it if its so worthless?
Yes this is usually how games work. You play it to earn something to advance in the game. MMO’s are often time gates to limited number of things you can do in a week. Ever heard of dailies/weeklys/raid lockouts? It’s like you’ve never even played an MMO before.
The whole game is funneling you into playing the content and enjoying it. If you want to advance faster then you can go to the shop and buy things with GOLD. You don’t even have to spend real money to get a VAST majority of the items in the shop. The ones you do you can turn around an sell on the market if you want and get gold so you could buy those with gold too if you want.
I think you feel like you’re funneled into the shop because YOU can’t control yourself when something is available but not worth the cost. You feel slighted because someone else wants to buy what you don’t think is worth it. You have lost NOTHING and yet you are upset.
Yes raids and content is gated behind ilvl just like any other MMO is locked behind the gearscore and getting the RNG drops from the bosses that you need. If they are bosses no one is farming anymore then you need to find a way to catch up. This isn’t a problem here because you can catch up if you want too, or you can choose not too and do it all F2P just like thousands of others have already. It’s okay to not like the game enough to want to do the grind, but that doesn’t mean the game should bend to your will, that’s the definition of entitlement.
You are not 1460 not “most nomal players”
It’s never been that way for any honing buff before this. It’s meant to be focused towards helping you progress your alts.
You gotta stop letting this troll get to you. He has admittedly quit the game yet is on these forums more than anyone else. Its like a blighted ex stalking your Insta and liking your new GFs pictures. Dudes got some issues and needs some sort of attention. Just put him on ignore and let him continue to let LAO and all of its players live rent free.
Lots of ppl botted their way to 1460 through infinite chaos dungeons and there’s a lot of ppl who just don’t give a fuck about the SH, just wait and see.

What? Im not 1460 yet, but im in a research Deazone since 30, im around 33know i think, next “few” stuff to research is at 35, but faaaar away from 45…
Im sending 2 Ships everyday, researched everday. Garden idk if it gives XP , but i use most of my energy not in the Garden,because they dont count for Guild Quest. (anymore, since the change)
Heck no idea when i get 45… seems i have to spam 100000000potions for 3gold profit.
ah lol. It’s like 2 minutes a day.
Make benches or the fences that cost silver to make. They are great xp and you can make a ton of them.
Good to know, gonna check that out. My Castle is a Shame, i just put all Rapport NPCs at the BBQ having a Talk, and placed the Lost Ark globe and stuff i got for free
I dont go past the stairs in my SH and I am at lvl 57. All of the Rapport characters I placed at the top of the stairs so I could get their bonuses. I buy the rapport items from the vendors and then just send out dispatches and craft structures and leave. Thats the extent of my SH usage.
