New wave of bots already arrived!

Pretty sure I’ve reported 100+ of them running by in the starting zones in the span of 15 minutes

All AGS has to do is analize a certain point in the mainquest for irregular behavior. For example here this place at Thirain. If AGS can catch bots here, they cant go further. I mean… they all act the same, move the same, do the same. Shouldnt be hard to be detected by a system.

Edit: And more bots. ITS AN ARMY!

As the result of this work, today (3/4) we will be permanently removing over a million illegitimate accounts from the game that have been determined to be running bots.

I am laughing at this right now. As it is the 5th march by now, it looks like a ban wave does nothing but just produce more bots.

THERE IS AN ARMY OF NEW BOTS ON ASTA RIGHT NOW! All new characters around 126 GS.

It just doesnt stop. New bots are coming, one after another. I would even say that currently there are more bots than actual players in Luterra.

Edit 1:

It baffles me. We are in 2022 and this game has anti cheat, which cant even detect such blatant botting. It’s not like the bots are hiding or trying to act human.

And it continues…

I am going to bed now. But I bet If I would stand there for the next hours I could make screenshots of new bot groups arriving at Thirain every several minutes.

Edit 3: Okay one last screenshot. Next group arrived.

Edit 4: omg…

Edit 5: Its like an accident. I just cant look away.

Is it funny that AGS still expects their detection system to actually take care of these robots? The answer is definitely no. Not until the root cause of these robots’ profits is solved: the coin reward for tier 1-26 purple missions. Otherwise there will only be more robots.

More infuriating is how AGS even fails to detect bot messages: https://i.imgur.com/04qN4Ym.mp4

I mean… just automatically flag messages that have repeating patterns or a high amount of weird symbols. And flag messages that repeatedly get posted and are 3-5 lines long.

Edit: New group of bots:

Edit 2: This game was released over 3 years ago in Asia. How the f… is it still so easy for bots to do this shit? How? Didnt the devs have systems that analized bots all the times and learned from it? WHat is happening right now is the exact same that also happened 10 years ago in MMOs. Where is the knowhow to prevent it after so many years? As I said… these bots dont even try to act human.

Edit 3: New group…

Edit 4:
In the chat, new messages from bots are posted several times per minute right now.

I really think they need to adopt the same system FFXIV has, they have a dedicated team to deal with this that’s why botting is extremely rare on FFXIV.

They also do not discriminate between buyers and sellers they treat both parties equally, if you get caught buying in-game currency through RMT you get banned with 0 mercy and no chance for a ban appeal.

This alone has deterred a lot of bots on FFXIV and I play in one of the most populated servers on EU, maybe try that don’t show mercy to buyers they are equally guilty and the ones that promote botting in the first place.

Well, it’s a free game, so this is just bound to happen. I assume all of these bots will be detected just as easily as the first wave. It is a shame about the gold spam, though, but it can be hard to solve those problems without impacting legitimate users too.

So… how long until AGS step up and Permaban those botters / gold sellers?
There’s also cheater who use speed hack / other illegal sofware this one probably harder to track but still possible.
Please don’t tell me it’s just all talk and no action!

As a new player I’d just quit instantly if I see bots speedhacking and spamming the chat. This is just sad that the producers don’t care about this topic as much as they should.

AGS lied or is incomopetent. They said huge ban wave on 4th march. Today is 5th march and bots are STILL doing EXACTLY the same in Luterra Castle. I dont understand how on earth in the year 2022 an anti cheat system is not able to flag this behavior as botting. They all move and act the same.

at this point my guy you’re not fighting for the lost ark you’re fighting for the lost cause.

We don’t know how many accounts were banned and therefore it’s hard to say if they lied. The botting problem won’t suddenly stop over night and all we, as a community can do, is to report them and give that information to AGS.
Those people spam accounts, e-mail adresses and characters because they expect to be banned eventually. That’s probably the reason why it feels like that the ban wave did nothing.
As long as AGS is on the ball there to improve their systems and banning those accounts, it will get better over time. I, for myself, set a goal to report at least 10 obvious bots everyday on the server i am currently on.

EDIT:
1 Million accounts is a massive number, but to be fair it was also expected in a free to play setting.

exactly the same situation on Punika. I rolled a fresh toon here to play with friends and I’m currently lvl 27, all I see is sorc and berserker bots with names like gsdfadsagdio running through walls, teleporting etc. impossible to report them all. standing at a questhub shows like 20-30 different bots, complete madness

They just throw some arbitrary number of “1,000,000 bots were banned” while the truth is literally infront of our eyes.
Playing at lower zones is a catastrophe and sadly i have to go there to do this tedious and boring rapport minigame garbage

Just wait until you get to the port. There are at least 50 bots running around inside the ship loading area on every channel.

what do you mean they dont care? they made a twitter post stating they banned 1 million bots.

I was in Lakebar earlier today and saw that there were over 180 channels in the zone. Of course, that also meant that I saw an absolitely massive amount of bots, as well. Quite literally an unending line of teleporting bots. I know they’re supposedly working on it, but the bots really make no attempt to obfuscate the behavior. Is it really so hard to detect that?
