Hi i run into followring problem with every newer AMD driver that is higher then 22.5.1.
I tryed every driver who is newer but always the pc get freezing at some point in lost ark. It only happens when im in some kind raid or boss rush but not in the world.
This is total random and some time it runs smooth for 3-4 hours and then the complete pc freeze.
As soon i reinstall the 22-5-1 drivers everything works fine. I have everything up to date windows bios ect. I did already set up everything from the ground but didt helped.
I know that amd released the 22-5-2 driver who had this boost for dx 11 games where they reached up till 40% more fps in older games. Maybe this causes the problem because every new driver has now the boost for older games implemented.
it freezes on CICERRA boss. i got the same problem. You can try. You can even know in chaos dungeon if Cicerra is the boss or not :)) Also it freezes when Bard heals.
i got same problem with my rx 5700. Btw it is not new. it started 2 3 months ago.
I am sorry to hear you are having issues with newer AMD drivers. I have reviewed all the data you have provided and thank you for the information. Due to the type of issue you mention and how it does not match the expected behavior, this thread would be better addressed in the Bug Reports section.
I have moved the thread. Hope this helps and see you in Arkesia!
Hello! Thank you @Fenrirskoll for passing this over.
We’ve seen a few reports of AMD drivers causing issues, I see you’ve managed to find a driver version that worked, it’s likely your best option to keep that driver version until AMD push another fix.
In the meantime I’ll make sure the team is aware that the 22-5-2 driver is causing issues.
6800 XT with driver 22.8.2. I had 3 full PC freeze (screen is still with audio playing, w/o ability to back to desktop, require hard restart) in Chaos Dungeons over the last two weeks.
Hello just wanted to say, even in the new September revision for AMD (22.9.1) this is still happening, I’m mostly certain it’s an AMD driver issue, but can’t confirm for sure, and it’s happened to me like 3 times this week, mostly while doing dungeons, it’s just frustrating not being able to do content because you don’t know if it’ll freeze or not, anyways, just wanted to give a heads up
I can’t anymore lol, I had 2 hard crashes yesterday during raids and while I got the ticket to re try again I just feel bad for the people I ended up leaving there with 1 player less.
I’ll uninstall and hope this somehow someday gets fixed otherwise gg, thanks
Just adding that I’m experiencing the same issue. The game freezes (especially during Chaos Dungeons). I can’t launch Task Manager to End Task - keyboard and mouse both seem unresponsive.
Currently I’m using AMD Adrenaline 22.10.1.
Ryzen 5 3600X
Gigabyte X570 AORUS Elite
16 GB RAM
1 TB NVMe Drive
Fully patched Windows 11 Professional
Memory Diagnostics passed and just this morning I uninstalled the game and installed it to the second Samsung EVO 1 TB NVMe drive. Still experienced a lock/freeze. Thanks for looking into it.
Hi i have the same issue aswell, tried different drivers and changed configurations in many ways.
to name a few,
reinstalled windows 11,
removed all drivers and done clean installs of all,
using older gpu drivers and using newer gpu drivers. (issue with the older drivers is other games and functions stop working with those)
changed ram to different brand, same issue.
done hardware tests like memtest64 and harddrive tests like samsung magic,
done cpu and gpu benchmarks with pcmark, futuremark and 3d mark.
my current setup is as follows:
Microsoft Windows 11 Pro (10.0.22621 Build 22621)
Cpu: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core 4200 Mhz (6core 12 logical processors)
MB: TUF Gaming X570-Plus (WI-FI)
HDD1: Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500gb
HDD2: Samsung SSD 980 PRO 1TB
RAM: 4x DDR4 8192MB, 64-bit, 3600 Mhz G-Skill F4-4000C18-8GVK (total of 64gig)
PSU: Corsair HX1000 1000W (Platinum Certified)
i can play lost ark for maybe one chaos dungeon or 10-15 min of running around the world, then the whole comp freezes (seen nothing like it) nothing interresting in the eventviewer either no real errors or critical faults, except for the kernel when i press the button myself.
happy for a update on what is being done to resolve this issue, have no issues with other games just this one.
(ps, my wife has a setup just like this and has the exact same issues.)
same problems here.
game freezes the whole PC randomly inside of chaos dungeons, raids etc.
it must have something to do with amd’s DX11 boost in drivers newer than 22.5.1, cuz the only solution is going back to that driver version (like @noker mentioned), which luckily still is in their driver library.
due to new and other games i can’t stick to that driver forever
since it seems like a issue with the DX 11 Boost in all recent AMD drivers,
are you (the lost ark team) working on anything to resolve this issue or are you waiting for AMD to find a solution for the game crashing when running Lost Ark (so far I have yet to find any other game with this issue).
I realy hope this is solved before December so I can play the summoner class.
(22.5.1 is causing issues in other applications like Microsofts WVD application that I need for work, so can not run that solution as it is now).
This has been an ongoing issue since at least 22.8.2 and continues through 22.10.1. I have reported this via AMD Bug Report tool multiple times, as the AMD graphics driver will trigger TDR (without the Recovery part) + generate memory dumps in C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports
22.5.1 is safe to use… I also never saw this issue with 22.6.1 though I cannot say with 100% certainty it does not happen with that driver either since I did not use it for a long period of time. This is not the only impacted game, as other DX11 games like FFXIV will also experience the same issue.
I had TDRDelay etc. set to higher then default values on 22.10.1 and it the issue still occurred, though what they are suggesting there is a much higher timeout then I had set.
That said, I installed 22.10.2 today and so far I have not seen the issue reoccur… so I am hopeful but I can’t say for sure it is resolved yet.
I have asked around. This issue has been passed on to the development team and they are aware. But it’s too early to say whether this is something that can be fixed on Lost Ark’s side.
By all means keep sharing possible solutions. Everything helps.
The best solution for now is to downgrade the drivers.
