Same issue. Bluetooth headset.

Same here. I unplugged my headset and the Lost Ark sound jumped over to my Display(it has build in speakers. I disable the Display but the sound wont jump back to headset. I tryed to set Lost Ark to play sound from my headset in windows but even that wont work. All other sounds on my computer i can change back and forth from my Display to my Headset from Windows except from the Lost Ark sound.

EDIT; after some research this is apparently a common issue in some games, that it wont let you change the audio output.

Same here - I use two bluetooth headsets that i switch when battery run low.
In most games its not a issue to restart the game to update audio source, but witht he Q time its unacceptable in this case.

Most games allow to switch audio source in the game settings, this should be added ASAP.

Same issue here. My headset disconnected at the set afk timer, and when i connected it again, the audio had jumped to my display speakers instead. It can’t be moved back to use my headset unless I restart the game, which is not an option with queues. Basically this desperately needs a fix. Sounds like lost ark has issues with bluetooth connectivity. Any devs listening?

I have the same issue with a lots of games. This is a Windows issue not Lost Ark or Steam. Stupid thing that sometimes it works but more often not… You can try to update your software or w/e but it didn’t work for me.

Got exactly the same issue. This is the most annyoing thing I experienced in the last years with any game. I don’t understand why they don’t implement a audio device selection in the settings like most games today have… Please just let this get fixed somehow!

Having the same issues with my bluetooth headphones as well. Would be great to fix this without having to restart the client and get through the queue…

Someone said that if you acually get disconnected you have like 5-10min that you can get back on the server without getting in the que. I havent tried by alt+f4 should work to restart the game and skip the que.

Rejoining without queue works for me when I disable Wifi and wait for the ingame message to close the game. Once done, close steam, and restart the game. You select the server and have no queue. Same works with pulling put the LAN/Ethernet cable.

Hello,

i have a similar issue, i swapped the output device from desk speakers to headset & there is no sound from the game. Maybe it get fixed after a restart but since i wait everyday 5 hours to can play that’s not an option! Swapping back to headset doesn’t being the sound back. And is now a OS Microsoft W10 issue since everything else works fine (like browser sound, discord, spotify & so on) so is DEFINITELY a game issue. Please fix the game, is 2nd time i have it & i’m forced to play without sound after waiting for hours to get in game.

Same issue when chaning between sound devices (cable headset / BT headset)

Additionally I found another feature - when running Twitch / Youtube in parallel, it might happen that sound is switched off when stopping the stream and back again when restarting or resuming the stream …

sorta same issue here today.
While i was in the queue, I was watching some twitch etc. sound coming out of my normal speaker that i use, they are set as default output.

Queue is done, i launch my character into the game and the game is silent. Then i noticed for some odd reason it choose my headphones as output for the game (other applications still using my speaker).

Doesnt the game have settings where you can switch audio output?

I share a similar issue using a Creative Sound Blaster AE-5 Plus with DTS digital audio. Sometimes sound just cuts out and I have to restart the game to address it. Only happens with this game.

The common theme here seems to be something related to the way the game handles sound output changing, it seems. Unreal Engine 3 is super old, so I don’t expect these kind of bugs to actually be fixed, though…

Hi there. This is no easy fix, but it might be a viable solution for people like me who use different audio devices every day and either have to have some sort of solution or put up with restarting the game a few times every day.

Solution: Voicemeeter Banana. What this free tool can do, is route different audio output devices into its own audio output. It is fairly easy to setup if you know what to do. You:

  • Install Voicemeeter Banana
  • Set VoiceMeeter Aux Input as Default Audio Output Device
  • In Voicemeeter on the top right, set Hardware out to your real audio device

You can do that and switch while the game is running without any issues. I have been using this software for other reasons (Parsec) for years and vouch for it, it is superb.

Hope this helps some of you!
