Can we focus on getting the rest of the available classes first before complaining about gender-locks.
I prefer to play female chars, because, well, I’m a female. But it didn’t stop be from rolling a paladin.
They DO plan on releasing a gender-equivalent for each class. I believe first on the docket (at least for KR) is female berserker. Which is the only reason why I haven’t rolled one on NA, because I know it is coming soon™.
I would 100% be on board with a male version of sorceress that is more along the lines of a classic warlock, and a male version of summoner that is akin to a necromancer.
That’s what you said… Anyway, move on! We received the answers from Roxx, which is our man-in-the-middle for all these edges hahaha Forget it. As I said, let’s not change the topic subject.
And how is that wrong? Suggestions are part of discussions. And if Smilegate would say they don’t want to do XY, than Amazon can’t do anything about it.
Such an eastern thing to do, instead of just rigging female models for the already included classes, create new ones so there’s still a gender lock because Gunslinger is worlds better than deadeye
What you don’t seem to understand from their post is that the gender unlocks for classes are NEW classes. Striker/Wardancer, Deadeye/Gunslinger. Same archetype, different engravings, some skills, awakenings, and playstyles.
And good aspects? What does that mean? I have never seen anyone from other regions complain like this because they play what they want regardless if it’s male or female. I think it’s a good thing that the unlocks are different classes. Why have cut and paste of each class for both genders when you could have two of each archetype to choose from?
I feel this argument is inherently flawed because in complaining that you want male/female of each class - a choice, you are dismissing the fact that with each gender unlock, you get a choice. And if you don’t like the design philosophy, either accept it and enjoy the content or don’t play because it’s not going to change just because some people in NA have a problem with it.
AGS definitely can’t do anything other than suggest when it comes to major gameplay elements. They were literally hired by SG to LOCALIZE the game. That includes asking for version specific changes for smaller things like numbers or retextures or release dates. That’s about it.
AGS doesn’t control anything in their partnership, it’s a joint operation that either one can decide to stop when their current contract ends.
I dont get why people seems so upset or defensive when someone ask about getting rid of the gender lock, or more options, or less ccensoship, good translations, etc… The “if you dont like it, dont play it” andys never cease to amaze me xD.
I also only play male classes, it is what it is, i wish i could play a male mage but i dont think it will possible any time soon. Not complaining, just saying xD
Cant wait to see what happens in the forums when they release the “12yrs old looking like” artist class
You’re asking the wrong people, Amazon have close to 0 input on this.
Female characters are very popular in korea so this is likely to be a problem that persists.
Hey how about making an actual new class instead of a gender swap class. I play as a striker, but there is like a 10% different than wardancer. Why not just make a new male martial artist that is not a gender swap. Like a hook swords user or a spirit blade user like DFO. That seem to be a better investment than gender swapping with 5 or 10 abilities different.
The entire reason why animations and combat feel smooth in the game is because they use individual skeletons to rig for animations and making ‘the opposite gender’ for the same class is basically as much work as creating another completely new class. So it’s a lot of work. I’d rather have 20 different classes that are gender locked than 10 classes that have both genders.
uh to make a new class, you have to create a model, create animations, create a lot of skins (level1 -tier 3), create skills and change a lot of text on msq, to do all that you need animators, class testers, model creators… To translate to portuguese you need portuguese translators and to change the text of all things on the game. So yeah you interfere with different things, and sectors of Smilegate.
lol that has nothing to do with genderlocking and everything to do with the quality of their artists and animators. You can get the same results without spending as much time making everything from scratch. Fact is that genderlocking classes in KR/JPN games creates more work for them in the long run, especially if they plan on going back and making the opposite gender for each class. Like they are in this case.
Make no mistake, I think their artists are top-notch. Their process is the only thing in question. Doesn’t really effect us, but their artists sure stay busy.
Why does genderlock matter in the first place? If you dont see gender, but only people, it doesnt make a difference right? Thats the most non sexist thing i could think about lol
