I mean if they respect their playerbase they have a funny way of showing it. Look you’re right I do have all my tripods done except one on all 6 of my chars. Why shouldn’t I defend the guy that goes out and touches grass? Just because I go in 110% doesn’t mean everyone does or can. Some people only have a bit of time to play. They play very casually and move at their own pace. They get on for a couple hours play go to bed then get up and go to work or do family stuff. They don’t spend hours on the forums, they don’t watch twitch streamers or use youtube for LA content. They play the game as a game and have fun. Why should these people getting screwed out of their tripods because AGS failed to provide information or even hint at a player needing to look further into it?
People are simply asking for what we’ve always been asking for, better communication. I’d rather get all my info from the guys actually publishing the game and making active changes for our region then an outside source that may not even know. Hell it was only confirmed a few days ago that we were actually getting the KR version of it. The west hates gambling with a passion, I wouldn’t have been surprised at all if we got a variation of the Tripods system. But we’d never know with the way AGS communicates
Took a forum thread to acknowledge the fact that at least an in-game notice should be done as if it’s some wild concept to inform the community about important changes.
There’s not even an official post about the tripod change and how it works, instead relying on forum warriors, content creators and search engines to do their job for them.
At this point it’s not even about the tripod change but the general handling of information. Instead of spending some time preparing a strategy for informing players, let’s put one sentence in the roadmap then leave it at that and spend double or triple the amount of time answering threads and doing damage control. Tremendous.
I mean look at this thread. There’s already people arguing which could’ve been avoided by a news post and in-game notice/popup in the first place. It’s like an active sabotage mission up in here.

You are assuming that your only way of knowing was that you were a tryhard 110% gigachard player, that’s why you found out about the changes, when that is clearly not the case here.
I think AGS’ communication has improved in general it didnt go from 4 to 10, it went from 4 to 7, but it’s still an improvement.
Roxx clarified that the feedback has been heard and that they are trying to do something about it. I dont understand why you guys are still complaining even after she aknowledged your feedback.
AGS has confirmed that we are getting exactly the same version of the Tripod system that KR has.
You guys need to understand that Roxx cannot write a whole article about the tripod changes without someone providing the relevant information to her.
instead of punishing those that didn’t save or on break, they should have auto saved equipped armor tripods to save grief
This will lead to some angry players who don’t have time to go on forums, coming back from break e.t.c.
I can see both sides, But AGS has given us warning, albeit not in full, to the laid person it may mean an improvement and they will just gloss over that one line on tripod update. To the more hardcore player, they follow KR patches, streamers and research the nth degree,
i sincerely hope that the playerbase see this warning and research it, otherwise they will only have themselves to blame. You might say AGS should have given more explanation which is reasonable
I feel like a 7 is pushing it personally. But it is what it is. They have gotten better communication, but I’d still like to see official posts that acknowledge these confirmations I don’t have time to follow Roxx around like a lost puppy. Even if I did she has been wrong about things on many occasions as much not even 24 hours later proven wrong. The Ark Pass skin is a prime example it was explicitly stated by her that it would not be usable on classes released afterwards, IE: Specialist. Yet it blatantly says in-game on the item “usable on classes released after the winter update”
All I’m asking, and I’m sure many others on my side as well. Is official, concise and accurate information. I don’t even care if there is a date or anything, bring the update pertaining to the information out in 2024, I don’t care. I don’t want to have to follow Roxx around and Roxx probably doesn’t want me following her around anyways. I just want first hand accurate information, especially if core systems are being messed with.
That’s all I’m asking, first hand information, not second hand from Korea not from Zeals or Atk. I think they’re great guys and they provide a ton of information to the community in good will so people enjoy the game they’ve spent so much time and money on and absolutely love. I want the same here simple respect to communicate. We communicate with them about issues or concerns they communicate back. Right now its just like talking to a brick wall except there’s 10 other people screaming at the wall alongside you and a few of them stopped yelling at the wall to yell at you instead.
I ended up ranting, but I genuinely want the game to do better, I want AGS to try just a little bit more with communication, every other company in the MMO industry is managing to do so. So why can’t AGS?
you and many others seem to know about this tripod change despite there being “zero warnings” so it all seems to be working well enough.
if someone refuses to read forums or patch notes fine thats understandable some people only log on to play. if someone hasn’t read a single bit of area chat and seen people asking about tripods or an update, at a certain point it just becomes negligence on the player
Seems that you are well aware of what tripod update is, so you are not concerned about all of this, you are just speaking for people who don’t read about Lost Ark, outside of Lost Ark right ?
You know, if people in other region don’t read about Lost Ark, outside of Lost Ark, they would get “caught offguard” as well.
Even in Korea when they told them about the tripod update made a big thing about it, I remember reading an inven post day after patch some guy posted where did my tripods go?

It’s your fault if you don’t keep up with the game.
If you only playing the game, don’t check patch notes, forums, YouTube vids, Twitter, nothing at all and you don’t have a guild/friends that tell you about the new tripod update
This game is in unique position we know everything that’s coming just from the Korean client, players have even made a spread sheet tracker of every kr update.
AGS marketing could be better, they don’t announce and hype up hyper express well and how important the new tripod system is, you tubers have to do it for them.

AGS should have done this months ago, look at blue crystal price in the last few days already gone up so much people obviously finding out or left it to the last minute
People are seriously insane. We are talking about losing something you already have in game. You CANNOT blame any player for losing their tripods without an in game notice. They put an in game notice that clearly explains you will lose your tripods unless saved then boom it’s on the player.
You cannot expect players to read/consume out of game content or media. That is just obnoxious and plain dumb.
We aren’t talking simple patch notes or changes. We aren’t talking about changing a skill. We are talking about players possibly losing a significant part of their build that they could have spent significant in game resources on. I don’t even understand how there is an argument about this. They dropped the ball hard by not having an in game notice running for at least the last week continuing up to implementation. Period!
They do the same with hyper express dropping the ball it’s a huge thing that makes it so easy for players to return and where to find this information it’s at the bottom of reaper academy last paragraph.
The hyper express and power pass should be the main highlight not some tidbit at the end of reaper academy post
Same with tripod update should be a massive breakdown explaining to players but it is what it is, ags marketing let you know day before and super casuals get rekt
Someone else said it already and I completely agree with their sentiment; AGS relied too heavily on the streamers to provide the information to their own customers rather than doing it themselves and that is not at all okay. And no, a ‘changes are coming to the tripod system’ is not an adequate enough announcement because no where did it mention that you could potentially lose your tripods unless you save them to your inventory.
That’s what so maddening about this whole incoming fiasco. People keep making the point that they got the information from streamers, did research, etc etc, and it’s like, okay, good on ya.
But for some reason, a company, that also has the ability to pull the information, for some reason, cannot be bothered to so much as translate details about said changes from the Korean/Russian/Japanese announcements, slap it on the news page and create a banner in game directing players to read up on said changes cause they could potentially lose out on months of investment?

Marketing has always been questionable at best as well as just normal communication on things but this is different in every way.
They are changing a system and as a result it could cause the lose of a not insignificant part of players builds unless proper precautions are taken. There absolutely has to be an in game notification about this. Really, truly I can’t comprehend how it took the players speaking up to (seemingly) get this done. What about SG themselves? How did they let this go without in game notice? Apparently every other region had a notice in game./? Did they just assume AGS would run an in game notice? This is just baffling to me.
There is no in game announcement because at the end of you can still obtain the tripods after the change.
What people are doing now is “cheesing” the system by saving them into the inventory. Its not a preqrequisite to do so, and you still end up paying gold to buy the accessories to do so.
Theoretically there is no “difference”. You can obtain the same tripods after the changes.
This x1,000,000,000,000,000. Literally every, any and all possible fallout could have been prevented if it simply saved all tripods on your gear. Hell if it ONLY saved tripods on your gear it would be better than only saving what is in your library.
So, it was okay for all other regions to receive an announcement, up to a month in advance, about the incoming changes, but not us because it’s a ‘cheese’?
