No in-game Annoucement for Tripods?

If players do not save their tripods in their inventory, then they lose those tripods. Tripods saved on your gear does not matter.

And just yesterday, I was talking with at least three people that had no idea what the inventory system was and me and others were giving them information on what they had to do. So unfortunately, yes, there are players out there that still do not know it exists.

you will lose the tripods on your gear unless they are saved in your library.

You think most people that play the game are keeping up on youtube/forums/twitch etc? No…just no.

EDIT: even if they were unless they read/saw a specific video or thread on the new tripod system they still wouldn’t know they could lose their stuff since there has been no offical communication about said fact.

I understand. But let’s be real here people. If you are in Tier-3 and you’ve transferred your gear from blue to legendary to relic, you KNOW about the tripod inventory.

And if you aren’t in Tier-3, then the concept of tripods mean nothing.

Give me a minute, please:

=) Take your time brother. I enjoy constructive conversations.

ok you know about the inventory (not everyone does) but that doesn’t you mean you keep saving every piece every time you upgrade one of your tripods.

I sent you a DM with an image. Sorry for DMing it to you, but again, I don’t want to risk shaming anyone.

Acknowledged. Thank you for helping other players in-game. Word of mouth in a MMO is a valid and important aspect of this game. It is a community game and it’s nice to see people paying-it-forward! =)

 Appreciate keeping it heated, yet civil. We all have our differences in opinions, but that doesn’t mean we still can’t have a healthy debate on our stances.

Thank you.

where it is discussed?

Granted its been on the roadmap for quite a while now. And why would it be any different then any prior update we’ve gotten. They have shown consistantly that patch notes and stuff come out generally the day before and MAYBE some talk about it in an acadamy post the week OF the update.

If you bust your ass at work all day to earn enough money to spend some in the game, then you might have like 3 hours a day of free time, maybe a little bit more maybe a little bit less. Then you bust your ass in the game to do all daily stuff on your main and, what is recommended in the game, multiple alts. And you only have those few hours to fit your ingame activity in. So you basically dedicate all your free time to play this game on a daily basis.

What do you say about, zero empathy, forum toxicity spreading social media enjoyers, saying you don’t care enough, you do no work to know what they know, implaying you are lazy dude who deserve to suffer from poor communication?

If there will be banner on steam game page that explains in details how to not lose your tripods to new tripod system. Or ingame text under chat that says ā€œDo not lose your tripods to new tripod system. Check forums for details.ā€ (ideally from sunday untill day new tripod system will be out), no one will be blaming nobody.

When it comes to communication, if there is a room for improvement and people are pointing this out what is your point arguing about it?

Here is why. If you ever played a shitty mobile game with linear progression and a ā€œpress here and nowhere elseā€ type of ā€œtutorialā€ you skip everything since you have no control over what you can do in the game. Once you are free to explore the mechanics/menus you discover them at your own pace, tinker with them until you figure it out, or read a guide about it if you wish so. The decision is left to you and how well you can manage is the ā€œfunā€ of resource management part of the game.

The hand-holding sucks cause it is just a one-way tunnel you will go in at one end and exit at the other there is no input that will change the outcome. This feels like being treated as a stupid person unable to figure out what to do and if a game really needs to hold your hand. That is on the design of the game, hand-holding is the best thing you can do if you don’t want the other side to respect you.

The solution is a better design and guidance in a natural way. Not saying no info should be given obviously you need to know what you can press to do something. Like ā€œWASDā€ movement keys being told what they are but you can just direct someone with just a pathway instead of a tunnel.

Respect the other side’s intelligence on an action level, and trust that they can figure things out with given clues. But most of the players seem to just want to be dumber, do nothing, and have all the benefits of optimizing to the tee. I’m sure some players would enjoy every player always being on the same level no matter if they work more or spend more time on their character or roster but I disagree that if someone plays the game in the game and out of the game better than you, manages the info in-game, manages the data about the game from outside of the game and then applies this to the gameplay and spends time more efficiently, they should see the impact in the game.

Not everyone has to compete for everything it’s fine to be 2nd, 3rd, 86.000th since this is literally a coop game for 99% of the time. Let the 1% alone. Its 1% for the 1% of the players.

you know… announcement ticker aka MOTD (message of the day) is a string they can freely set… someone just has to get off their you know what and do it…

Reminder to keep it civil among each other please.

We are working on an announcement post and in-game messaging to alert players of the impacts of these changes ASAP, and appreciate all of the player feedback on this. I know it can feel frustrating at times to give feedback you feel strongly about, but it can help us push and make the changes we need to make, so it is always appreciated.

I think the best feedback I can give beyond just the in game announcement is to provide players with some tripod amulets in the upcoming express event (and in all future class releases/push events). You don’t need to hand people free 18 maxed tripods, but helping people acquire some of their most necessary tripods will:

  1. Soften the blow of the tripod change for those who missed the train on it/lacked the Pheons & gold.
  2. Improve progression for any future class
  3. Slowly help players round off their builds without necessarily invalidating the tripod market.

We definitely need a more holistic approach to progression assistance than just honing materials and boosts.

hah… Not good enough. We were just talking in discord with the guild about the tripod and guess what? some of our guild members didn’t even know its coming. Put it up in the game where everybody actually is.

True, but I’m talking from a business point of view. It makes no sense in this particular case not to make sure the information is blasted weeks in advance.

Thank you, please do. By the time these changes occur, you’ll have an increased portion of the player base getting ready to, if not already in the process of, travelling due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday to be with their families.

A detailed explanation of these changes should’ve been release sooner, but we can’t turn back the clock. Getting the information out to as many of your customers as quickly as possible is all you guys can really do at this point.

well-there-it-is

Now make an ingame announcement with link to this forum and put on the front page of lost ark website
