I’m sure everyone has a learning experience about it and I dont mind the content not coming.
It’s far more annoying for me, that the game is down until 17 o’clock for me. With short maintenance I dont mind, but these long maintenances (and I’m sure content patches will be at least as long) most of the day is over before the game is back up.
I understand that it’s coupled with NA times, they have the update perfectly at midnight, can go to sleep while patching and come back the next day.
Is there any chance to get the same for EU folks? I don’t want content earlier than NA, but is there a way to split the majority of the maintenance & the update itself? 8h maintenance from 3-11 and then maybe a 30-60 min (or whatever it takes) update when it releases for NA aswell?
KR,JPN & RU doesnt have DST, so it’s something new that needs to be implemented. if they need 2-3 months, that’s what they need. I don’t care about it.
And every game I know that releases in EU / NA at the same time has this issue. Because it’s always an NA company. There’s still hope that it changes eventually.
what are u saying ? all blizzard games, all riot games and so on have specific time for region concerning maintenance. because its pure logic and hurting the player base. Amazon are just inconpetent as usual. they will learn with time but they don’t listen
while that might be true, HOW is ANY development team (no matter where it sits) NOT aware of time-zones, time-changes and how having wrong times can be anywhere between an “annoyance for your customers” to “domains and/or server just not working anymore AT ALL because time is out of sync”
it is 2022… NO ONE should have a problem with times anymore…
the BARE MINIMUM that should be done would be to at least show the CORRECT time for the zone the player using the client is sitting in … doesnt need to have all events shifted for 1 hour for half of europe, that would be stupid, but not even SHOWING the right time and NOT fixing it for weeks is just so laughable
Riot Games dont have maintenance times at all anymore and not for a while. Not sure how they can do it and others don’t, but there’s that. EU usually gets skin releases at 22 o’clock, that seems to me to be on NA time aswell.
And I haven’t played any blizzard games in a while, so I can’t talk about it.
Enough games that I have played, had that exact same issue though.
Don’t get me wrong, in an ideal world it would. But why would the dev’s care about it, if it wasn’t an issue for them until now?
As far as I know they said that they’re working on changing it and that’s good enough for me. There’s enough stuff going on that I understand it’s not a priority because it’s at most a minor inconvienience. When I’m playing I can see when the next event is happening and I’m not using the game’s time as a clock or set my own clock after events happening.
so if they have 10 servers , they’ll take down 5 and update them and then the other ones - this is a simplified explanation ofc.
this keeps downtime as short as possible.
