Right now, there is no possible way to delete duplicate cards without deleting the entire stack. I can’t imagine this is by design given how much card XP everyone is going to lose … and probably just something that fell between the cracks.
Hopefully they pick this up, because right now, it feels terrible.
Do not ever delete cards. And if you are stop right now. Cards are extremely important in the endgame
You might not know this. But if you delete cards, you get card XP. Card XP lets you “enhance” your cards and the more you enhance, the better the set effects are. I’m not sure if there are other ways to get card XP, but deleting cards for card XP is very much part of the Card system design and the game designers expect us to do it.
Though if you want to enchant cards you need duplicate as to get to “lvl 2” you need 2 copy of card + xp
This is for sure not by design. Im not the only person saying not to delete cards either. Zealsambition, probably one of the more well known lost ark streams said to never do this. And he currently has the highest ilvl gunslinger and wardancer, if i remember correctly, in all of korea. I mean im just a nobody but at least listen to someone who has way better credentials than me. You will need tons of copies of cards later and deleting cards just for card exp isnt the way.
I don’t really understand how duplicate cards work. The first time you use a card, it’s just like ‘okay!’ and there’s no dialogue box.
But when you use a duplicate it’s like “are you sure you want to?” and I’m like what else am I supposed to do with this card? Eat it for breakfast? Trade it on the market place?
I’ve been told I get XP for the card when it’s a duplicate, automatically, just by registering it. Is that true?
It’d be cool if registering a lot of the same card automatically put XP into that specific card instead, and then only added XP to the general pool if that card was maxed out.
I mean, there is a “delete” button in the user interface, and when you do, it gives you card XP, which technically means it’s by design 
. But I hear what you’re saying. It would be nice if the in-game guide had more insight into this.

Okay so I figured out more about how the cards work and why duplicates happen.
First of all, duplicates do not count towards your card catalog count. So they don’t take up space and block you from getting other cards. To free up space you’d have to delete the entire stack (which you have the option to, but as many have said, best to not delete cards).
Instead, you want to put XP into that card and ‘enhance’ it. In fact it’s the cards you have duplicates which you want to enhance most because after they reach the max enhance, you can unlock the next level…but only if you have duplicates of that card to do so. Starts with 1 duplicate required, then requires more duplicates later on.
I still would prefer to remove the “are you sure” dialogue when using cards that are going to be duplicates, since when you first get a card it just eats it and every time after that it’s two clicks for some reason.
when you get a dupe over 15,they auto turn into exp ,thats because making a 5 star/gem card needs 1/2/3/4/5 to finish the upgrades so any dupes past 15 are always extra
they dont take up space
all cards contribute to bonus stats in pg 2 ,most cards are part of 3-5-10 diff sets in that page,so deleting em is a short term solution,and limits your future ability to get 15 dupes and start earning free exp
Duplicate cards means cards past the awakening point. so duplicate card is any cards past 16 of that one type of card. so it’ll say +15 on that card. after that you then get xp for the duplicates.
