Not every game has to please every player - don't just nerf everything

I saw the comments in here, boy some of you have an bad attitude.

I’ll tell you what my opinion of ‘the problem’ is from a new player perspective and I’m not sure nerfing is the answer.

I stomped though everything in the game up until Tytalos just by dodging and keeping out of the red marks on the floor. Pretty easy stuff, mostly. All of a sudden, with no warning or explanation in game, everything changes. No more red marks on the floor, now there’s debuffs and a host of other things that kill you. No warnings of this or explanation, no build up, apparently you should have watched a youtube video on how to do this, and you should have known this before entering, somehow.

I am actually hyped to try that too xD

Let’s be real… Once they change that part of the game to a point it becomes a cakewalk I’m probably out. (T3 in generell)
Koreans nerfed and balanced it over the years to a point they seem fit. Honing, Raids and all the great things awaiting us in the upcoming content. Once they change that drastically it won’t be the game in awaited since i’ve seen the first trailer in 2012, i guess. And yeah thats also just an opinion.

Yeah visuals and tells in t1/t2 are the real problem that keep people out of progression.

I read all those comments about nerfing , P2W things in this game and its hillarious.
It just shows how ignorant , lazy and REFUSING TO THINK or even use things that are given to you (grenades, panacea etc) or even hints that pop up in the middle of fight to make it easier for you to progress through those boss fights which are even made in such way to actually help you learn for the actuall hard conent that will be added later its just funny.

Just like in real life in those games its the same
Only those who work hard , think, learn , look for solution , improve themselfs in order to progress and achieve something are at the top and keep going forward

And then we have those who dont want to do any of that and they just want things given to them

The data of only 10% that completed is a VERY sad truth of how remaining % people dont try to improve themselfs at all.
So its always in my opinion not the problem with the games being hard but with people not willing to even try improving themself or think a little because those games are designed for you to win

Small nerfs will not solve the problem for such people good example is WoW lfr in my opinion because I remember how such people were able to wipe on boss that had like 90% of his abilities turned off he was literally a target dummy with 1 mechanic and that also received nerf so yeeee… gl

There technically are guides to tell you about these mechanics through ingame guides, etc. Though most people skipped those and again is one of the reasons as to why T1/T2 is considered “bad” content.

its takes 3-5 minutes to watch vid about tytalos. there are even ppl selling raid runs , cuz its hard to spend 3-5 mins to know what actually you must do in the fight

I know, I died and then watched one. My point is up until that point you don’t need to and until you go in and waste everyone else’s time learning this, you have no idea it’s coming.

You get clapped, you live, you learn. Realizing that what you were doing was wrong is the first step into looking for solutions. These types of games don’t usually give you a very straightforward “Correct vs. wrong” approach like western games. Skipping tooltips of items is the biggest mistake western people do when getting into Lost Ark.

I should add, that I can almost guarantee that the majority here has not even begun to think to use the training dummy (taunter) for guardian raids. The amount of mechanics you can skip with this alone will become a valuable lesson to master down the line

Personally i always thought that it comes natural to invest time and effort into a game or activity you love or at least like…
I wonder how games like the Souls series that throw you under the bus became so popular regarding some of the opinions how accessable games should be.

True and wrong. The best example for this is Elden Ring. Massive, explosive growth at launch. Laughably large drop-off in playerbase - one of the biggest out of any souls-game ever to date. They got a strong audience, though “here, have a world” approach is very niché as proven with that game

Yeah they tried something new and had to take the recoil for that.

I don’t know… Maybe I’m just to old now xD But i don’t get the whole mentality that a game has to evolve around once perspective needs, just to please everyone.
Something thats not my cup of the tea shouldn’t have to break it’s neck to cater about my needs. I either want to climb that mountain, or not. And with all that content and games that the gaming market has to offer, i think it’s even irrelevant.
But maybe that problem has it roots deeper, not in the games but in modern society.

It’s an expression. I didn’t mean literally break them. It’s meant to introduce them to what GRs are about and be a stepping stone for harder content. Now our rationale is let’s accelerate them to that harder content despite the fact that they’re having trouble on this easier stuff. It makes absolutely no sense.

And, no, that’s not at all what they said. They said they have no developers physically making and implementing changes.

I know it was/is an expression.

However, many people actually want and feel good about BREAKING new players before they are even allowed to have fun and enjoy the content.

It’s the old " If I suffered , so must you suffer too ".

And yes - Roxx specifically said that the changes came from SMILEGATE - Amazon has no control or say on the changes done to Lost Ark in terms of gameplay

yea ok but i do have to raise a petition for the nerfing of the bot legions that have invaded and do their things higilty pigilty without repercussions.
WTH is with allowing this sillyness to occur?

Let’s just be clear - they may not have any control, but pretending they don’t have a say… I highly doubt that’s the case.

Publishers do not have a say in minute gameplay changes.

Obviously, I do not know the full extent of their agreement/contract - but that’s usually how it works.

Publishers are responsible for the game’s marketing and deployment - as well as infrastructure maintenance.

Everything else, is the Developers responsibility.

“A say” to me, implies the ability to push for changes they want to be made to the game with the developers and have them listen to that desire earnestly. A publisher absolutely has that influence. AGS has already demonstrated that with pushing for server transfers to be developed as quickly as possible.

its not about why we need this game to nerf, you all need to realize that there are some disabled people that cannot beat bosses, so they are nerfing them once elitist players beaten them, so they can adjust and nerf boss for all of us disabled people to beat, people have no idea how small details out there people are missing points in this world, Good job amazon, keep it up! #Disabled #PlayerCatchup #DisabledForLife #DisabledGamers #BlackLivesMatters #DeafGamers

Unfortunately for you, the director of Smilegate has stated many times that this is game is designed to have something for everyone. Crying about nerfs in T1/T2 is foolish. They are not endgame. They are not meant to be too difficult. They are supposed to be daily loot pinatas to get players into T3. T3 is where the game starts. Catch up. That’s what the first two tiers are for. Not fulfilling your high difficulty boss fantasy that you can get playing Monster Hunter for simply getting to T3.
