Albion is a niche, same as Eve Online.
There are no big Full Loot Games, and there won’t be anymore.

I dont follow the logic of nerfing the content to make it a cakewalk for casuals who do not want to put in the effort to learn and improve will secure revenue.
First and foremost, believe it or not, said casuals do not carry a huge weight when it comes to F2P game revenue. Most games with this type of business model rely on 10 to 20% of heavy spenders to generate vast majority of their revenue.
Secondly, most players who stick with a game for the long run and play regularly do it for sense of achievement. In most games, overcoming obstacles you could not previously pass by self improvement is arguably the largest source of that joy.
Lastly, as I already stated, future contents are basically built up from earlier contents and trivializing the earlier contents only set players up for rude awakening. Unless they intend to continue nerfing every content, it feels like a very shortsighted decision.
When a player reaches T3, it shouldnt be jist about gear level but also experience and knowledge of the game.
But it’s not AGS that are making the decision to do the Nerf it’s SmileGate they’re also only nerfing the mechanics from one shot to a very powerful attack the shit players who take in 3 sorcs and a GL are going to find out very soon that their tactic of prioritising Item Level over group composition are still going to get stuck on the exact same content. Also the increase to Honing will only go up to 1340 so those of us already there won’t have to worry about the shitters ruining our end game content as they’ll still never reach it in time for the new content giving us a chance to play with like minded players with an IQ higher then their age, except for the AZENA players who seem to play Zerker and Sorc and get out DPS’d by Pallys and bards. Those guys are the only players we will have to keep an eye out for on US East.
I can absolutely agree to this, but the problem with why people want to read guides (and why everyone else wants them to) is because for most people, it legitimately feels really bad wasting everyone else’s time. FFXIV does a fantastic job with bosses slowly introducing mechanics individually, then beginning to stack them, so players have a chance to naturally intuit what they are supposed to do.
“LOL, You didn’t know you were supposed to do the hokey pokey and exactly how to turn yourself around? Get wrecked and wipe, try again from step 1” is an absolutely terrible, antiquated way of handling boss fight mechanics.
Hint: Those heavy spenders are often not hardcore players.
I have a mate from the middle-east who plays that Mobile Game, Genshin Impact. And spend like thousands on it. He is not a Hardcore-Player in any game, neither playing 16 hours a day.
Happy Players = Spending Players
Unhappy Players = Not Spending/Quitting Players
You would be surprised how many people in those games spend money for stuff like Cosmetics alone, even if they never make it or care about being Hardcore or Endgame.
There were literally 1.5 Million People buying Founders Packs, with the $100 one topping the Steam Sales Charts. And that was before they could even play it at all.
Ofc is niche, but still have 250k active players, it gives a lot of fun. This risk thay you can lose everything you did in last week keep people playing. Also is totally different type of game pvp focused.
If it is so fun, why is it niche then? ![]()
Like New World is fun, except for the 97% of players who left? ![]()
In Lost Arks case a lot of Tier 3 content is actually considered easier then some T1 and T2 content. Smilegate just designed gameplay and mechanics a lot better in T3.
Because it’s only fun when you’re beating people. Albion online is just free and advertises heavily so there’s always a fresh supply of new marks… err… players for the toxics to go after.
There is no other good full loot pvp game like Albion such a well balanced, where skill and tactic >eq. Mortal Online is terrible, New World is so bugged NW will be good after rework.
This is quite a confusing point you are making.
On one hand, you are talking about your own experience where you simply outpaced in terms of ilvl which trivialized the content. For people in that category, nerfs hold no meaning whatsoever.
For those who are actually affected by the nerfs, the fact that there is higher tier available has no relevance whatsoever, as these are players who are actually at that tier of content.
I can’t fathom how trivializing the contents that are essentially training sessions that set you up foe current and future game content. It is not like those people will all of a sudden become better just because they hit T3
This. I personally don’t understand the logic of people who don’t read guides, especially when this content is so obtuse that unless you’re in the top 10% you’re not likely to pick up on the mechanics on your own.
Its either:
A.) You spend 4 minutes of your own time reading the instruction manual.
B.) You wipe on a boss repeatedly. You spend 4 minutes letting 3 other people explain it to you badly in text form (the form you could have looked up yourself) and waste the time of every single other person in the party.
That makes sense ![]()
Maybe that is the reason that Gatekeepers don’t want people in T3.
So that nobody realizes it is easier, even further taking away from their pretentious Achievements ![]()
But that’s exactly how tier 1 and 2 is built lol take Albhertastic the final boss in tier 2 he has a bunch of mechanics (I probably botched his name), You can literally ignore almost every single mechanic bar 1 of them, the orbs when they spawn kill the red ones and have 1 person each collect the blue buff that drops from killing the red orb to prevent Alber from buffing that is all you need to know that’s the most difficult content in T2.
Honestly anyone already in T3 should get a a Special title only for them that lets other people know they managed to do the already easy as piss content. to separate the good players from the bad.
The gatekeepers don’t want people in T3 because they want to keep their little special snowflake “we played in KR and RU and know how to blitz through the content” party going as long as possible so they can continue to dominate the market and gouge prices. At this juncture, I’m fully convinced of that.
They all know you never touch those fights for a moment longer than you have to.
People are toxic even in PvE games like lost ark xd Try matchmaking and tell me how many toxic players u found xd But sometimes is hard to not be a toxic when you ask if they know mechanics everyone told u yes and then they dont know what to do and mostly they dont wanna know that I guess xd.
And you honestly think these heavy spenders want easier contents and easier way for other players to progress quicker because…?
I have been part of whale communities in the past and two reasons they spend heavily is because they just have too much money and they want the prestige they get for being stronger than others.
Also, you would be surprised to know that a lot of whale players are actually players with good mechanics and invest a lot of time as well.
Believe me, I’m aware. It’s a quite jarring experience coming from the FFXIV community and seeing the MMO toxicity that I had long left in the gutter in full force.
Because I have trivialized the content and I will hit T3. I’m saying that hitting T3 does not take talent or success at these raids. They can be done badly one time or they can be done badly without any mechanical learning. You and others keep equating reaching T3 as a skill cap and skill gain. Its not. I promise you, I am not excellent at this game by any means and I’m 10 whole ilvls from being in the top-end content. And what have I learned on the whole from this experience? People really, really don’t like reading guides. There you go, that was something I all ready knew but its the only mechanic I learned in almost 1100 ilvls of game time.
…
Yes, of course they do. Because if the non-whale players aren’t in the content the whales are doing, they never get to show off and say “look how amazing crazy awesome my whaling has made me.”
