So, I was excited to play Arcana as an alt because it was kind of a Gambito sorc combination but after looking about the class it seems that it is hard, squishy and doesn’t perform well until late game, so it doesn’t seem to be a good idea to play is as an alt, especially after playing wardancer as an alt, it just felt weak and was not a good experience.
Any good class to play as an alt to use with the Punika pass? (I already have gunlancer, bard, guns, wardancer and glavier)
a few korean streamers have said that if you play her as an alt you will want to quit because shes just so bad as an alt, its bettter to play her as a main
if u want a good alt i would reccomend shadow hunter since its 1 of the cheapest class to build, with good dps and easy to play

Since it’s so shit if it ain’t one especially for our current progress where I doubt u’ll push it to 1445+
You also have to consider the playstyle of arcana. Managing card buffs and using them well to do decent. Its one of the classes that high as low floor and high ceiling in terms of skill. If you want to play the class for fun thats fine, just know the class wont perform as well.
All we can hope for is class balance will make her abit better

Arcana is a bit more complex. Managing those 20? cards and even combining them in the correct way is not easy and learning this takes a lot of time.
So it’s better to main her.
I disagree that she is not a good alt! Turns out for her to work well, you’d need her from 1415-1445, where she starts shiny. But let’s face it, any content below 1415 requires nothing! Whatever the class, it can handle any situation perfectly, I myself have a wardancer alt 1370, and it pretty much solos the argos p1.

If you’re comfortable with another positional alt, Scrapper Taijutsu is a really fun class to play. You’re constantly dealing good damage, when your engravings are built out at least.
My 1445 deathblow striker alt is fun and strong but only because i raised and geared it well.
She actually got MAJOR buffs in the Elgacia patch and now has the highest potential DPS in the game.
They increased the damage of her main nukes like 10-20% through tripods, reduced the chance of drawing the attack/movespeed cards, reworked one of her most common cards to be way better since it now applies identity stacks with your auto attacks instead of just making them do 6x damage (and the stacks are what you use for your nuke skills), and made it so she could use gems on the skill from one of her class engravings (like Surge for DB).
Yes, play what is fun and not just what is recommended. SH is very cheap to build and easy to play, yes. But, I fall asleep playing her. If you enjoy the class, you should play it regardless of how hard it is to play or how much damage it does.
That being said, I would highly recommend artillerist as an alt. Spec/swift or spec/crit is insanely strong right now and you can faceroll a lot of mechanics with your shield and wheelchair. Crit/swift is still good too and much more mobile.
I wouldn’t recommend arcanist to any person who does not like gunslinger or soulfist.
What both these classes have in common is you have to multitask by looking at their cooldowns and paying attention to their special swaps.
Gunslingers multiple gun swaps and paying attention to cooldowns looking back and forth with quick swaps to survive.
Soulfists paying attention to hype meter and paying attention to their meter burn so it doesn’t run out and cooldowns on buffs and optimizing efficient dps.
Arcanist will work similar in that you have to pay attention to cooldowns and choosing/memorizing cards while fighting on top of dodging and being floor POV.
I believe I heard a KR streamer say it before that people who play arcanist end up quitting the game. so keep that in mind on difficulty.
I am thinking I will do North Vern knowledge transfer for Arcanist.
Since I am interested enough to try it out.
Then will see what I think about it after some time.
But the punika pass I think I will use on different class.
Then the express event depends on wtf it even is we get.
