Because ban waves are default expected practice.
Your bar for AGS competence is so low that doing the bare basics of an MMO publisher/developer is something you’re celebrating.
Meanwhile, it’s a distraction to cover the fact that they missed their “aiming for mid June” timeline for Vykas even after they lied about class release schedule in the June/July roadmap. Covering the fact that players lost 2 weekends worth of play from their South Vern garbage and then them bungling the matchmaking.
But hey, at least they did a ban wave lol like every other MMO developer in history but only after weeks of complaints and having to have an all hands meeting after queue problems on NAW for weeks.

I don’t even have a bar left for AGS, I played NW for 1700 hours and LA for the same.
But i’m not going to be negative towards positive news, doing so is pointless.
If they do this next Thursday and by Sunday it’s back to just as bad again, we’ll all be back here with our pitchforks, but until then I am willing to at least hope this helps some.
Because if it doesn’t help, we aren’t going to have playable servers by the end of June. I couldn’t care less about Vykas at the moment if the game is going to be almost impossible to log into after it’s release… see what I am saying here?
What good is content if you can’t log in to play it.

Unless the servers are locked banning them won’t do much. I fully expect we’ll be back up to 800k “players” tomorrow.
Agree they should do a 1 or 2 week temp. lock on accounts while they stabilize and prepare for the next step

The point is that it shouldn’t even be news that block out meaningful news.
Take a look, for instance, at the news feed for FFXIV. A ban wave happens regularly every week. So regularly that people just ignore it and it’s not even worth posting about on their forums or subreddit that it drowns out any other topic about the game.
Because it’s what should be happening
Instead it’s so rare and garbo that it’s the only thing being talked about. No one’s talking about lack of compensation for being unable to play. No one’s talking about missed deadlines or shifting goalposts promised to players.
The bar is so low it’s not even talked about how basic stuff still isn’t fixed likeNPC rapport items not working.
Nobody cares, go away unless you are here to cheer on the atomic nuking of bot nation.

Thank you, they are slowly killing the game for me. Do something with the buyers itself too, please. 3 days ban is not enough, you need to take away all the gold they ever bought or just straight perm ban.

Only thing which will change is that bots will have to grind again to 50 lvl thats all. After 3 days they will grind CDs again.
They aren’t locking healthy servers from new accounts. So how will this help exactly? It won’t. 1 maybe 2 days at most until we’re right back to the same exact spot. Bots will make new accounts, funnel gold to them, boost them into t3, and resume normal operations. Waste of time simply looking for a pat on the back. No pat on the back for you unless this turns out to be effective… it won’t.
