I had this thread in Diablo 3. It was closed 5 times by moderators.
Then I was permanently banned from Diablo 3 forums because i kept opening it over and over.
So if you think I’m gonna keep my ideas to myself because of some disaproval bs, ure greatly mistaken!
Oh, what was the thread that everyone bashed and no one gave two f about?
Well.
“Close the Real Money Auction House, and sell Cosmetic Items”.
PS: selling cosmetics was not a trend back then. But when I saw the founder Angel Wings in Diablo 3, I had the idea that they should focus on making more cosmetics and sell that. People love it.
Now all mobile games exist just with that format.
Did I invent that? No.
I just see things differently, and usually that attracts lots of troll answers.
Btw, I also dont care much about replies. But answering each of them keeps the thread on top avoiding moderation.
A lot of successful games were done by one person. All this post reads to me after this opener is that you fashion yourself a game designer and are over full of self importance.
I didn’t said to keep your ideas for yourself. What i wanted to say is that maybe you’re wrong? Or you wanna say that everyone who replied and disagrees with you is wrong? If yes, you are that guy : " the universe is against me"?
Here you kinda confirm my suspicion. Everyone is dumb and is a troll, you’re the only one who can see the truth.
So you recycled your post from another game forum and everyone is dumb and troll both here and there…Ok… Please link me that really fun and successful game your worked as a game designer so I can learn more from your greatness about how to design games and enjoy it so i can also be a successful game designer too.
I mean little over two weeks ago only 2% of the playerbase has the achievement “Nobody dies during a guardian Raid” that number has since increased and is now inflated due to all the T3 players doing either Carries or getting carried on their Alts. 98% of the playerbase find this game difficult. There are other achievements that you should have got week one from just playing that all had below 5% completion. 9 out of 10 people who play this game are finding the content difficult and I can guarentee almost all of them are pretending it’s easy but struggled the whole way getting here.
It was pretty obvious to me after reading the first 30 comments where he replies after every comment that this guy gets hard on forum posts and attention.
Even then there’s more holes and bad logic in his post than you can shake a stick at I’d point them all out if it wasn’t exhausting to do so and I got literally nothing for it.
Like he says that the game has no build diversity but you literally have tons of builds and can change your builds at any time without any NPC visit or in game money or real money is one big draw to the game but apparently he just never played the game and there’s only one build :^) Then he compares FFVII materia but you have runes and skilltree to really customize your build even more. Then he compares Diablo a game where most Sets are just so bad they are never used, and most unique items are trash, and everything is determined by a few runewords that everyone goes for.
Considering how this is the most popular MMO in korea and 3rd most popular game in Korea under League of Legends and PUBG, I think they know what they are doing.
He’s not 100% incorrect though. Every KR game or Manhua(with the exception of “Release that witch!”, which is why people love it) I’ve read feels like the core concepts are near identical to the rest. Now I’m fine with that since I enjoy mindless stuff like that to a degree, they’re good time-sinks. Although I’m really losing my patience with LA considering I’ve done 33+ adventure islands and have 2 tokens. Still no alakkir or spida or unknown…this goes above and beyond when it comes to wasting time. I just got 1st in Snowpang and STILL didn’t get it.
Anyways using WoW as an example. You could learn engineering or choose different enchantments to fit the type of build you use, splitting off talent trees, coating your weapons in different types of oils that heal or debuff etc. Massive amounts of different relics, the list is endless. Of course I’m referring to the old WoW lol.
These days that game is more like a KR game the more I think about it. They pruned the hell out of it. Pick 1 talent between 3 every 15 levels, highly dependent on weeklies, all the relics were nerfed into oblivion into pvp so you can only use the same 2 that everyone else uses. Blade and Soul is the only one that CONSIDERED giving people some options. But then they said screw it and made it like all the others. Take away almost all the options and make everyone use crit gems and crit heals, force them to carbon copy one another so it’s just like every other KR MMO in existence.
I guess it’s just the way the gaming world is going. Gacha and mobile hell infiltrating PC mmo’s. I still can’t believe how much money Genshin has made…by all means people keep dumping hundreds of dollars into the ultimate RNG machine. Oooh gold star, you just got Klee’s 2nd constellation!! That was definitely worth $300.
Going to have to point out that “old” WoW did indeed have a ton of different builds and items but, like this game, there was always a cookie cutter build that out performed every other setup. The illusion of choice. The only reason I could play a raiding Fury Warrior in Classic, was because you only actually needed 30 properly specced people in a raid >.>
People just didn’t know any better, communication wasn’t as good. resources were not as extensive, people had more free time.
classic has literally proven to be antithetical to everything old wow supposedly “was” there have been numerous interviews saying as such from the original developers.
you already see posts about people playing in even slightly suboptimal ways, now imagine the game gives you the tools to just confirm your irrelevancy completely.
