I agree to an extent. Unfortunately this wont work. Coming from somebody who has been playing MMO’s for the past 20 years the best method would be Mods in game.
Ive been playing Guild wars and Runescape for almost 20 years and the biggest thing is in game moderation. This last ban wave, I actually got IP banned because i live in an apartment complex. Yet there is even more bots then normal. IDK wtf the mods and smilegate are doing. This games quality has dropped significantly in the past two weeks.
Then ban the dam fking SKINNED BOTS you useless DEVS jesus . DOING NOTHING AT ALL FOR MONTHS!!! Not towards you minertarv just want it seen
Yea its crazy Jagex, a company that is KNOWN for paying their employees trash wages. can still afford a in game mod.
@Primadiva There’s a difference between enforcing the rules and making public displays of individual users as the original post advocates for. Cheating is wrong. Cheats should be punished. Cheaters are punished.
Is his face and personal details on there? No! IT’S THE GAME CHARACTER HE CREATED THROUGH TOS. You’re telling me you cant change the TOS to accommodate even that?

I feel like everyone whose a mod should actually play the game. While i do appreciate a response, this game is turning into a joke.
You literally just said, you wont punish players… then claim you are punishing cheaters (???) which we know as a fact that you dont (with documented many cases of RMTers/botters still being in game)
Best part is cheaters are documenting it THEMSELVES proudly on their twitch and even then they dont get banned.
Sorry but this was a lip service 101 fail.

It seems to me a rather silly response that a moderator gives a response like this to a content creator here, the philosopher, it does not help at all since the bots multiply like spoons and nobody does anything, that is, with your opinion I understand that buying the gold of the bots is more than good?

@myotismar No one from AGS endorses RMT and cheaters are punished. I understand that many do not think the punishments are severe enough. Thank you for sharing that feedback. It is important to convey that to the team.

Does that convey a similar sentiment? That feels similar to me, and all it does is discourage your legitimate players and embolden those that have already gotten away with RMT to do it some more, and convert more of your honest players to becoming dishonest. This is an extremely damaging statement, and I seriously hope you reconsider what you’re actually saying.

So then is there a way for the actual players to play the game. im not trying to wait 2 hours to log in for bots. I legit got IP banned and couldnt do anything during the “mass bot ban” which somehow made logging in worse. I just tried logging in and its a 10k person wait. Im not going to wait 3 hours to do my dailies.
This is a misleading analogy.
You aren’t ruling your kingdom by fear, you are enforcing the rules with fear in OPs suggestion. There is a huge difference. If you rule by fear EVERYONE fears you. If you enforce with fear, only the would-be WRONGDOERS fear you.
For the record, I would HOPE that in my kingdom the fear of punishment is a deterrent to wrongdoing. Otherwise, what is? Reliance on people’s moral compass?
Currently, the botters see AGS’ efforts as literal dirt. Are you willing to let your kingdom crumble?
