Endgame content release that raise the ceiling is is never for the majority. It is always for those at the front of the curve. Releases for the majority are things like Grand Prix or the guardian event. Events where everyone is MEANT to participate in.
None of this would even be a discussion if Argos was in the game day 1. No one would say “omg it is for the whales.” Why is that? I don’t hear people complain that Vertus is in game day 1 when 0% of population can access it. Nor any complains that Oreha’s Well is in the game when 0% of the population can access it. Yet somehow Argos became an issue.
It does make sense or they wouldn’t have changed it. The number of people able to do Valtan if released now is probably higher than the Argos release but they already committed to a new date.
If it was healthy for the game to release whale exclusive content they would have done it already but it’s not. Nor, is it good for any game to have content released that can only be accessed by less than one percent of the player base.
Veterans from other regions who capitalized on the market early were about the only ones able to make it to Argos. The amount of effort and time didn’t matter which was a problem because by the time you emulate the trend it’s too late for most people. There were a ton of hardcore players that weren’t able to access P1 and that is a problem.
Also, releasing content at the rate that Argos was released incentivizes more RMT. They rewarded many who were buying gold with exclusive raid content while all the legit players had to watch streamers on Twitch.
You don’t hype up and release content that only a tiny % of the playerbase can even participate in at the base (read: p1) level.
Not even the 10-12 hours-a-day-for-an-entire-month tryhards were able to enter. You had to be a god at playing the free market, someone with a TON of preexisting knowledge of the game or a whale to get in on day 1.
Well thats the issue, if I would be lucky too I would be there now.
Its like putting salt in the wound of those that have to HARD grind to get there.
Zero loot that are sellable/pitting like mad.
1440 ftp , well what can I say. I have 5 characters, 3 of them at t3, never missed a guardian raid and caos dungeon and I am still at ~1380.
I start to get tired of all this posts of people asking for content saying they are Free to play players. Lets me tell you something, or you are extremely extremely lucky, or you spent allot of money to get were you are.
So my advice is simple. Swipe less and the vertical progression content will last longer for you. Simple!
Lol.
To think I am just sitting at 1440 ilvl but I could go even higher than that… You guys have no ideas how many strategies there are to collect gold, but when you act like this it is better this way.
Just live in your own world in which you are the best and in which nobody can perform better than you do!
What ?? do you know the cost of a character at this point in time from 1370 to 1415?
Obviously depends on the server but it goes for 100’s k gold, I would love to see you farm that amount.
If you are talking about the strategy were you buy crystals and exchange them for gold, or even better buy gold on external illegal websites, then yes you are right!.
Valtan is 1415. Any die hard gamers already reach or past it if you play 12 hrs a day. People like to live in their own world to justify their slow progression. So, it is normal for them to drags other with you.
Oh yeah if you play 12 hrs a day not 1415 by now. Man idk what to say.
m8 we are happy for you, we just find that hard to belive but yea there is a loot of shit hiden in game and playing market is also a thing, in some regions more than others, but whats the point braging?
Still would be nice to slap couple screens standing behind your words as anyone can say anything in the end
about what % of population we are speaking in here cause thats somewhat also important thing dosent it?
maybe instead of being bored and trying to force your way go be awsome in another game for a while
Assuming even that releasing content for only 1% is a wrong move for them, i am not disputing it.
I am disputing the reason why it might be a wrong move, which seems to essentially be people’s envy for those who can access that content.
argos p2w outrage did make sense, but amazon didn’t understand it and took the wrong lesson from it.
When argos was released, not even the most hardcore of hardcore players could do it. Only swipers could. I myself am included in that, and I was leader of the pack - I wasn’t able to do Argos until almost the end of the week as one of the most hardcore min-maxers you’ll find(for reference I’m bout to hit 1460 now and have a full roster of characters between 1340 and 1370, all without dropping $$). Understand, at the time there wasn’t a single event or anything. You literally only had your daily chaos, guardians, and weekly abyss raids and nothing else. No one had more than 1 character in T3. Lastly, they also raised the ilvl requirements of hard mode preveza and yoho to 1370. So when Argos released, it was literally just whale bait and there is no real counter argument against that. It’s a simple fact.
Once they introduced the events, the complaints were no longer legit. That’s all we needed, more sources of mats and content which was missing that was intended to fill that gap. They didn’t need to delay content further. Now they need to go back onto fast track schedule so we can have more than 15 minutes of end game content a week.
I liked that they slowed things down a bit, it gave me time to experience content at a pace that I was able to keep up with. Now Im 1415 and I still have a few weeks until valtan, which feels great to me.
When argos got released it felt awful, I wasnt even close to being able to try it out. I was weeks off and the only way I would have been able to play it that day would have been to spend thousands, or cheat and purchase gold from bots. The reason it felt awful was because I had put a lot of time and effort into getting where I was at the time, and it’s extremely disparaging to find out all of that effort didn’t get me anywhere near where I needed to be to experience the content at launch.
The current Pace with valtan I think is perfect. I didn’t have to spend a dime on progression, and my in game work was enough to allow me to play on release.
I can’t tell if that was a good or bad move of them in terms of revenue. Hard to say, even for them probably.
What I am saying is just that people’s indignation about it is unjustified and most of it comes essentially from their envy. I was happy when Argos was released. It’s not like I had access to it for first two weeks. Why can’t some people be honest and accept it? Better no content at all? That’s so selfish…
