This is how the game works. It is carried by whales. The best char out there are the whales one. The true whales have all what they want and like to do massive gamble with real money. Lost ark is a game opened to whaling in many ways if you have not already been aware of that.
On the other hand, and to answer your question, a f2p will gain gold from the whale bid. From this gold you can exchange to blue crystal and buy card pack in mari shop. You have also island with card pack, south vern and shop in fermata/peyto.
You cannot compete with whales in case you were wondering, or you will lose. But you can take advantage. There’s not competition on Lost Ark except between whales (they can push ilvl, quality of stuff, lv10 gem LoS 30, GvG, Rowen pvp and win against and before anyone that is not whaling as much as them). But you can take advantage of that : take the gold from bid for example and exchange with blue crystal.
Also, you don’t need to be a whale to flip the AH. The prices are getting low sometimes so buy things and sell them later when it will grow again, for example.
Lost Ark is FREE but the best are whales. It’s a f2p and p2w game. No-lifer/hardcore gamers can be very good a this game also, with a very consistant roster, but still can’t match whales.
If you don’t care about competition, you can play free and run at your own pace without spending anything. You will be late for LoS30, and need to be very focused.
Relating to cards, again you can farm South vern for example, there are a lot of card packs there. At the end, i think the best solution if you want to rush LoS30 without whaling will be mari shop (gold from bid into blue crystal)

as f2p I started collecting cards from merchants & what not for 2 car sets coming with this march update that were added. Dps one is better than LOS 18 so that should do for new ppl or f2p with bad luck until you get full set.

7% crit is better in a lot of cases, especially if you have keen blunt weapon. Only LoS30 is best.

at 250% cdmg (kbw), its better until 35% and if you’re running kbw at 35%, your entire character is built wrong so you’re trolling anyway
if you’re doing holy weak content, theres no situation where 7% crit wins

wasn’t that one only 6% dmg but far easier to get than los 18? iirc l read somewhere that it was <7% if not 6
