The stance they’ve taken is that RMT is ok to do, and very light repercussions are the only thing that will happen because that poor player just “made a mistake”
How much do you want to bet that devs over at ags have bot farms on the side and are raking in the cash.

Of course still no specific info why this hasn’t been done yet.
Tell us then, since there is at first a soft ban of 3 days suspension for a RMT, why it was decided like that? WHY give a second chance to someone who broke TOS?
Do you treat your customers seriously? Cause if you can’t abide to your own TOS, then how can we treat you seriously, hm?

Ok, so you guys are not running a Kingdom , there’s no queen or king here.
I’t more like a tiny society, and you know they said pretty much strait that botting/RTMS are against the rules and while i expect that most of the people will respect rules out of their own good will some will not that’s why punishment is there waiting for those who break those rules.
I mean our society works pretty much like this and for the most it works (at least there’s not kaos everywhereXD) And it’s even more heavy here where you don’t put yourself on the line (your real self) you are putting on the line an online avatar.
So fear it’s not the word i would use. It’s more about Respect, and we have here from one side people who don’t care a fuck as long as they make money (Botters) and people who don’t care a fuck as long as they can enjoy the game in their own way (RTMS) while at the same time mess up with the fun of all other players (be they fp2/partialfreetopay or even legit whales).
So no Fear it’s not the word. Respect for others it’s what we are missing here.
O mate nevermind what i wrote you are running a kingdom where Botters are the Queen And RTMS are the Kings ad we us player are the commoners here only for pain and their own fun.

There’s looming atmosphere over all players (except RMTers) about the long ass queue times, ppl who enjoy this game but literally loses time for playing cuz of automated bots.

Even though I would love to share some methods used by some companies that work, I also do not want to spread the knowledge out to those that knowing where to look and what to look for that may find a way to bypass a currently working tool by the software companies that implement it. I can give a hint as going through millions of lines of code without knowing what you are looking for, that it is a two part system. Part one you install with the game. Part two is on their server.

Perma ban RMTers

I can’t even fix my legendary engravings let alone look towards Relic. Relic for imperfect and low quality are 50K+ gold, and good ones are easily 250k+. The prices are utterly insane. Even lower tier stuff is sold for 15k+. Spending hundreds of thousands to millions of gold just isn’t possible for F2P… unless they win the lottery and get accessories that can be sold to these RMTers at these inflated prices… and as I haven’t, my character is stuck.
Unfortunately first time perma-bans for the RMTers are unlikely. There are two major issues with that:
- RMTers have proven that they’re willing to spend real money on the game. The smart business goal would be to have them spend on your game rather than to perma-ban them. Unless they think they will lose more legitimate paying players than they would of potential income from the RMTers, perma-bans are not going to happen except against extreme offenders.
- There’s a breaking point when it comes to punishing offenders. If too much of the player base is RMT scum, cleaning them out could kill the game. That means there comes a point where at best all they can do is a slap on the wrist and say if you do it again, then you’ll get perma-banned. RMT is rampant enough we may already be at that point.
Sadly this means that fear of punishment as an attack angle against RMTers is an absolute last resort. While I’m all for first offense perma-bans for RMT, and think the game could survive even a major culling, I just don’t think it will happen because of the potential money involved.
There are still other options that AGS/SG haven’t explored:
- Make in game exchange rates competitive. If there is little to gain by going to outside RMT, even low-risk is not worth it.
- Increase risk with other punishments. Take the amount of gold away purchased, even if it brings them into the negatives, and should absolutely always be done.
- Fix Botting. This is unfortunately an impossible goal, but everything they can do to make botting harder, quicker to ban, etc helps.
- Barriers to account creation. 2FA, temporarily locking account creation on problematic servers, and verification on account creation are all options to help curb creation of bot accounts.
- Limitations on new accounts. Gold caps, bumping market use to 50, timed lock-out of sending mail or market use. Striking a balance that wouldn’t really hurt a new player, but cripple bots and RMT sellers.
There is more that AGS/SG can do.
