Is there a bug with the pet expertise?

How do you collect this Expected Expertise? When I dismiss a pet from the Cookie Workshop I don’t get any Pet Expertise. I tried letting the Pet Morale go to 0 and then dismiss and still got zero Expertise. At the bottom, when I try to use a Pet Expertise Potion it tells me I will go over the required Expertise. I am told any expertise that goes over the 100k will be lost. If I am getting zero Expected Expertise, shouldn’t this warning at the bottom not be there because I would with the +2000 expertise be at 50,805 Expertise for this pet? Is this a bug?
