It was a petty move, lol. got reported by another player for essentially doing nothing.
It is petty for sure but whoâs really at fault here? The guy that doesnât like dps meters or the person that using something thats against ToS then shows a screenshot of themselves using it?
It is against ToS, all I was saying is that it was petty lol. Glad weâre on the same page. I will say this extra bit. Petty behavior is actually toxic, itâs passive aggressive in nature. Using a DPS meter is taking a known risk of being punished, which is fair, but I do think the angle that player who use/want DPS meters are by nature inflammatory or assholes or toxic is far from the truth. If anything I think there are more people who are so closed minded and vehemently against that are truly toxic.
Hey, might as well start a petition to allow use of bots and RMT too. Since you guys are petitioning for something thatâs against the ToS and something that the Director said is clearly bannable.
Thank you , i wish people would respect the decisions itâs been told many times why not
Itâs not the same, I equate using a DPS meter similar to someone who played in RU/KR but having not lived there. To play Lost Ark KR you essentially engage in creating fraudulent identities (fake SSN). People do not call for those bans. DPS meter doesnt hurt players. FF14 logic need not apply here. Idk what it is about that game or itâs players but there seems to be a lot of unresolved trauma. Therapy boys.
I feel like the fact that DPS meters make for a toxic game is just being ignored here. If people were just playing the game to play the game, DPS meters would be great! But if you just spend a little time on this forum, you can see that the higher level player base is extremely toxic and hostile. There are almost no threads about the actual game, just endless threads of people raging. If peopleâs default was being chill and kind, I am sure that a DPS meter would already be in the game.
Deskaluda is pugged. Not even HM Valtan asks for 1460 ilvl. Exaggerating isnât helping the discussion.
I understand that concern sure but it isnât a logical take because players who are supposedly most at risk to this scrutiny are not vocal about the existing gatekeeping. Why turn a blind eye to gatekeeping that is much harsher and a lot less accurate? Also dps meters are already circulating. Have you noticed explicit toxicity lately in game or on reddit/forums belittling undergeared players? I havenât. If you have please cite them.
I donât have a reddit, but my experience with toxic people is specifically in game lol
That makes complete sense. One hurts the players and the other help the players get better but hey lets just keep that mind set and let all the hacks stay in game too.
It doesnât matter if itâs different or in your opinion it doesnât hurt players. Itâs really plain simple facts:
DPS Meter:
- Against TOS
- Bannable
Bots:
- Against TOS
- Bannable
RMT:
- Against TOS
- Bannable
I donât need to spell it out at all. Itâs really simple.
Well again I never said it isnât against ToS, I donât know why youâre bringing that up. Yes it is, people who use them are at risk sure. But the argument is about toxicity DPS meters breed. Which⌠whereâs the evidence for that? If anything we have evidence of the reciprocal. Senseless gatekeeping and an over emphasis on ilvl, things dps meters for this game resoundingly disprove, which help the f2p players case for being able to engage in content.
I donât think in this scenario its toxic. if youâre dumb enough to post something that is against ToS to the public and expect to not get banned then thatâs dumb
Just imagine people that play the game the most want a tool to help better themselves and their group.
A blanket statement saying that they are all toxic is far from the truth. I think you are toxic for falsely accusing other people for their toxicity.
A DPS meter isnât just dps numbers its damage take, damage done, healing taken, healing done, cdâs used, buff/debuff uptime. It tracks all of these and gives you a time line of when each occurs. This gives the player information on what they are struggling with and what they need to improve on and how.
Toxicity will always be in competetive games and MMOs its just how people are saying a DPS meter will make it more toxic when we already have an MVP screen is not the best argument here. Its a tool we can use to help us.
they are so quick to delete post. You are all being taken advantage of period.
Are you saying that I am lying about my in-game experience?
What did they delete?
you tell me CM. you tell me
Maybe I should use a more relatable example if your argument is to help F2P players.
Since you said itâs âuse at your own risk situationâ but kind of acceptable since it helps F2P players. Then ok, letâs petition to legalize Chaos Dungeon bots.
F2P players can:
- Farm free mats
- Allow them to catch up in ilevels
- Therefore allow them to engage in content
- Infinite mats canât be sold on market anymore
What do you say? Good for F2P right?
