I really hope ppl can stop saying it is a āhelpā to prevent flipping. It is a tax, on per use basis. You want to gear your main, you pay for it. You want to gear any of your alts, you pay for it. It doesnāt matter your intention is flipping or not. The intention of the item is money grab, period. You have ability stone that is bound on purchase, but still requires pheons.
If the intention is to prevent flipping, then making the item bound on purchase is the best way because that guarantees it. Pheon system is ineffective. Itās just math. Current t3 legendary accessory is 15 pheon each purchase. It equivalent to about 537 gold if you use the rate 400 gold : 95 blue crystal and assuming you purchase pheon at 850 blue crystal per 100 pheon. The question to flipper is whether or not they can make gold on successful flipping. If I see a 5000gold worth of item is selling for 500 gold, for sure I am going to purchase it and flip it. 15 pheon is not going to stop me from doing it.
The only good thing is that ags does hand out pheon quite generously up to this point and our current items donāt cost a lot of pheon, but I have heard relic accessories, which will come with the valtan patch, will cost 45 pheon on each purchaseā¦thatās equivalent to 1611 gold tax on each purchaseā¦I really hope ppl with right mind stop saying āit helps usāā¦
EDIT: I still see ppl bring up the weak argument of āit costs blue crystal so it is not a cash grabā. Do you even hear yourself? By that logic, virtually everything in the game is not a cash grab other than the royal crystal coz pretty much everything else you could buy them with blue crystal/gold, facepalm. Itās okay for a company to have cash grab because no one could really run a F2P game, but it doesnāt have to be this predatory. IMO, pass would be a much better idea to generate cash. As about flipping, there are a number of better ways to address other than taxing people all the time.
ā T1 and T2 still cost pheons (who gives a fuck about t1 and t2? What the fuck are you going to flip, BIS T2 gear? Lmao)
ā rare/epic t3 acessories (who the fuck keeps +2+2 Low stat blues and purples on high t3? Why does it matter? Its pretty much TIer 2.5)
ā cassino stones (you canāt even sell those back. Flipping what, exactly?)
ā you still need to pay pheons to transfer gear between your own characters (flipping what, exactly?)
Pheons are pure cash grab in its current form. You can explain it somehow fixes market fliping (especially for ability stones ), but it could be done better, more fair to the players by scalling its price by ah price, and tweaking some useless pheons tax like said ability stone or alt transfer.
In a mmo ? never ⦠choose another genere if you want that . If you want to have fun without using your brain you have A LOT of games out there , this is not one of them .
Yeah itās also not just about flipping but grabing cash and also give more importance to each of your purchases. I donāt think itāll hurt anyone if the pheon cost were scaling rather that flat fee tbh.
I canāt believe you bought T3 accs from market, lol. You just wasted your pheons for nothing , you can get 3,3,3 engravings very easy with 0 need of interraction with the market
Good relic accessories are going to last you a long time. Blue crystal has no value as prices in materials have dropped. The only thing blue crystal is useful for now is crystalline aura and pheons.
Nothing until 1370 should cost any pheons. Full stop. That would allow people to gear their alts more properly and we wouldnāt see so many people with awful stats or stones.
As it stands I have three alts in T2 around the 1000 mark and I decided Iām just not gonna bother with buying anything from the auction house because out of the 400 pheons I had before buying stuff for my 1370 main I only have 290 left and we all know that relic accessories cost something like 35 pheons later on.
Itās a system thatās apparently been put in place to stop whales from whaling but in reality it stops people from buying things from the auction house pretty much up until 1370, which is when you get some proper gear.
I just love suggestions like these. Might as well suggest buying bot money.
I mean the Koreans had to make hard mistakes, research and learn.
But i forget how self entitled the west is.
Braindead gamers, canāt think more than one step ahead nowdays.
I donāt want to see changes, stuff like this makes the game actually good for people that like to plan and think ahead a little, and punishing for people that⦠well donāt thinkā¦
This Pheon mechanic is one of the worst game designs I have seen. This is made even worse as you need to spend pheons even for ability stones. In later T3, you will be forced to buy dozens of these in order for you to get a proper combination.
Pheon thingy wouldāve been fine if the gold T3 set would be tradable, but as it stands now, it is a major cash grab. You even need Pheons (albeit 1 per purchase) for T2 gear, which is stupid. Not to mention that they are fucking expensive too.
