Exactly… That why i think they should do something about that, make them cost 1-2 pheons max or remove the pheon from it completely it will increase the price of the ability stones probably , but i dont think they would go as high as it is with pheons now… or reduce the rng on ability stones, so you dont waste so much gold for nothing…
SIMPLE FIX to this problem will be, making the jewel one time tradeable YOU either use it or sell it and then the prices stay the same !! And no pheons are needed ! You all cry how and pheons are, but none come with alternative solutions ! Meh tired of post like this, there are hundreds on this forum.
This games entire economical system is a massive failure down to its very core. It crashed and burned faster than any mmo ive ever seen in 20 years because it was poorly designed, easily exploitable, and we have 2 companies running this game that dont even know whats going on in their own game at all.
Either pheons need to be removed immediately, or the entire structure of how loot is obtained needs to be changed if they ever want to retain players in this game. The 3 useless stats needs to be removed from the game to improve rng so people can gear up without being slaves to the ah. Ive never once seen a game that made using the auction house MANDATORY to play the fucking game. Its obscene

The main purpose of pheons is to drive demand for blue crystals.
People buy blue crystals with gold, then buy the pheons with the blue crystals.
That gold is then “sold” to players who buy gold with royal crystals.
So the theory is without a demand for blue crystals there wouldn’t be enough gold for royal crystal gold buyers.
What if the devs moved the main reason to buy blue crystals from pheons to card packs? What if every week there was a good deal (not the current rip offs in Mari shop) for cards. Like you get 2-3 legendary packs a week for some amount of blue crystals?
Removes pheons and keeps demand for blue crystals high since everybody needs legendary cards.
yeah keep pheons, your best friend to prevent market flippers and inflation

The royal crystal-blue crystal idea was a stupid idea from the begining, the purpose of pheons is to keep the demand for blue crystals high so whales are more enticed to buy royal crystals, if they removed pheons the price for blue crystals would crash because there would be little demand for it, whales wouldnt wanna trade their royal crystals for it and it would be a dead currency, they would chose to buy skins and sell them in the market which should have been the system from the begining, this is all corporate greed, to put one monetization system on top of the other to squeeze as much money as they can from the playerbase, the solution would be to remove blue crystals completelly and make things in the mari shop cost gold instead.

there a solutions for stones if you remove pheon, make a limited buy by account, like you can only buy 5 (or maybe a little more, it can be adjust) stones a day, if it doesn’t work to get 7/7 you’ll try another day
selling skins is a shit system for “buying” gold.
and the reason for that is because there is a limit to how many outfits are going to be bought.
in bdo they use this system and to make selling outfits easier they made it so you could melt down the premium outfits for a special item used to improve the safety of your upgrade tap (because they can downgrade or even break in the case of bdo accessories)
lost ark would need to add a similar system otherwise ppl would just stop buying outfits.
blue crystals is the perfect system for this business model and pheons are an acceptable middle ground.
before the NA/EU release you had to spend blue crystals too open up the bonus chest at the end of raids/dungeons in all regions.
pheon’s make it so we dont need to interact with the blue crystals unless we are working on accessories for a character.
the only reason people complain about pheons is because they waste there gold on nonsense and want to find someone to blame that isnt them.
i have 100 pheons just sitting on my account that were all free. from login rewards, weekly event rewards and even from compensation.
i have a full 5x3 build on my main and decent enough legendary acc on my 2 alts.
there is no pheon problem, this is a problem with the individual not the system they interact with.
the really shitty part is that I need blue crystals for stronghold stuff, so basically all stronghold work has come to a complete stop and its looking like ill never be able to work on it ever again unless amazon does something drastic
you contradict yourself in your own post, you say people dont need outfits according to you they also dont need pheons.
The number of whales is much higher than f2p players, skins will always sell, then theres also mounts and pets, besides p2w should be disencouraged anyway, they can make more than enough money just selling cosmetics considering the low amount of content they develop for the game.
its the farthest thing from it, it takes gold away from the poor and gives it to the rich which also causes inflation in end game items like relic acessories and legendary books because it puts all the gold in the game in the hands of the very few.
ability stones also cost pheons and they’re rng, then theres tripod gear even bound skins have pheon cost, maybe you should do a little bit of research before opening your mouth.
If there wasnt a problem people wouldnt be complaining about it, and if you cant see a problem with a fixed tax that takes money from the poor and sends it to the rich with a corporation profiting at the top from every transaction then I dont know what to tell you.

Undergeared from 1370 to 1380? You mean from 802-1415^^ Dude since they released these honing buffs, 80% of the players don’t even buy accessories before they get 1415/1445 because of the insane price of Pheons.
To be fair, I’m one of these guys, because I’m a free to play player who cant pay hundreds of pheons for every of my 12 characters.
I would love to gear my characters in Tier 2, between 1302-1370, 1370-1415, 1415++ but I’m poor and Pheons are too expensive.
Instead, I only play with the trash I can find and then I gear my char when I reach 1415.
Pheons really are a very bad thing in every way.
The tax part aint to bad, but having to pay *k per item, even if the item is 5g then it is really bad.
And next to that, if I see an item I wanna buy, I gotta pin it - HOPEFULLY - leave shop, enter cash shop ( No, AGS; I will not want to buy anything else from there cause of this ) - buy blue crystals. claim blue crystals. buy pheons. claim pheons. Enter market. Buy item. Which possibly is now sold 
If they removed pheons, and added a tax visible instead it would be alot better.
It means we would not have to do extra steps, it would mean you could pay a lower tax for a bit more off meta item and people would play more of their own builds.
Pheons are just a stupid tax.
It makes no sense to gear up characters from auction house for T1, T2, or T3 before you hit 1415.
Whats even the point of that ? You are gonna get there almost immediately.
Thus those that spend pheons for gear that will be unusuable after few days simply pay the Dumb Tax. The Pheon Tax.
Anyone sane enough that tries to be efficient will only buy relic acessorries.
Hell, i didnt even buy legendary acessorries even when argos was released - only bought one neck for my main and thats it.
Getting to 3x3 at that time was pretty easy and 4x3 was overkill. And when valtan was released, relic acessorries were released, thus legendaries become obsolete.
Pheons are fine, kinda annoying for stones, but it is what it is. And when it comes to stones - you can just get books instead

Make mounts & cosmetics buyable with blue crystals and remove pheons
They are mostly char bound so its constant demand anyway
All problems sloved, if double dipping in players wallet is not main target of company
Some f2p can totally bypass the need to buy any Skins,mount,pet,cosmetics,etc with bc from the shop. But somewhere sometimes they’ll eventually hit the pheon wall and will need to exchange their gold to bc just to be able to buy pheon.
And that’s why pheon is created.
It creates an unlimited constant global demand for bc. That will eventually drive all player to convert their gold to buy bc.
And that will enable swiper to convert and exchange their rc to gold.
It’s as simple as that. Evil system. But smart indeed.
