Because You keep missintepreting individual player and playerbase economy
yes one individual lost his gold but other gained it and that other player is still part of economy
gold is still here you like it or not you just burned its value in another type of goods
What a jumbled mess of an answer. You don’t have the slightest clue what inflation means.
Inflation is generation of gold not gold exchanging hands. When someone resells at double their price no extra gold is generated. Gold only swaps hands from one player to another.
The same happens to blue crystals. No inflation is generated because all that is happening is a gold exchange between players.
Inflation means there is x gold in the economy and you add y gold to it from things like una task. That is gold generated out of nothing that contributes to inflation.
A gold sink is where you dump gold without reaching any other player. Honing, stronghold research/crafting or quality upgrade. This is a gold sink. Gold is payed without going to any player.
The purpose of pheons was never to combat inflation nor prevent flipping (it slightly discourages it at best). It was to connect the whales to the f2p player through incentivizing the shop use. One sells crystals to the other which sells gold. Pheons are the most constant tool with which this happens. In a perfect world the economy gets somewhat healthier through this. In a rmt dominated economy we’re stuck with only the downsides.
Hope this clarifies it.
Ok. Why the sudden switch to insults? Was I insulting? English is not my language so I;m sorry I’m not up to your standards…
It clarifies your opinion yes. Thanks for that.
From what I understand you think that, lets say, a ring that costs 12.5k without pheons is exactly the same with a ring that costs 10k+2.5k in pheons right? No difference whatsoever except for the bonding between whales and ftp players…
Lets agree to completely disagree then:)
Funny how you brought this up when you just referred to be as a “monkey” an hour ago.
“Are you seriously trying to convince this monkey that pheons are gold for the last 2 hours? this is pretty hilarious
”
Why do you strawmaning based on my past. This is a different conversation in which I;m serious. be an adult ![]()
Speaking of being an adult, if you can’t take insults then how about you stop insulting people?
True but irrelevant. I never truly insult people that give serious answers.
Serious answers? you mean answers that correspond with yours? but people who do not share the same answer as yours are “monkeys”?
So i’m F2P minus the founderst pack i purchased to have first dibs at names.
Once you get your guys in a comfortable spot 1370 for alts and 1445-1475 for your main. You just play your alts 2-3 times a week for chaos and raids. do your argos and oreha once a week and do the unas dailies for leapstones. I think the total time came out to 3 hours across all 6 characters a week. The other stuff is what takes a lot of time.
So what’s the difference. You can explain if you want.
And no it’s not the only reason for pheons, they also dupe the dumb ones and the impulsive spenders. It’s quite the brilliant system, if only bots wouldn’t completely ruin it.
It also wasn’t meant as an insult, though you also didn’t strike me as the sensitive type by how i’ve ocassionally seen you talk to others.
Not really. Do you see me calling Alex a monkey? I usually see the answers. If a guy explains in 4 posts that pheons are gold to someone and that someone insists that pheons are not gold then I call that someone a monkey. Pretty simple
But i never said pheons are not gold. please go up and show me where i ever mention that pheons are not gold.
I can understand the reason for Pheons. However what i don’t understand is why are there is a Pheon cost associated with Stones. They are only tradable 1 time so its not like you can flip them. The cost is just there for trading to alts which is a pretty dirty trick to make you spend gold.
I’m not a sensitive type at all. It’s that in the rare occasion I’m actually serious in these forums I expect people to get the memo.
The difference, in my opinion, is that a part of the price is gone from re-circulation. Meaning a part of the price doesnt “swap hands” as you’ve said. It is just gone from the market. So, again in my mind, this helps with price inflation and thus this part is a gold sink.
You said they are and proceeded to immediately treat them like they’re not.
Take a hint man.
I dont need to do that. If you never saidthat pheons are not gold then I was wrong to call you a monkey ![]()
That’s not really what I meant.
I’m F2Progress as well. 1450, 1415, 1375, 1375, 1375, 1375. I find 1415 a more comfortable spot. As DPS you get Argos p2 and still easy Ohrea. If you’re support like one of my 1375 you can get into Argos p2 easy. The gold intake isn’t what I was talking about with blues. It’s the ratio.
This is an extreme example but imagine you make 30k a week and it takes 30k gold for 420 Blues to buy your Crystalline Aura. This means 1 of 4 weeks you play the game is just so you can keep playing the game.
The west does not swipe as commonly as the East. We often discriminate against it and it’s because most believe P2Progress is a bad F2P model. It’s not far of a stretch to assume less RC is coming into the West than the East. Less RC means less Blues. Both do not renew without $.
Gold on the other hand does renew each week and lucky daily stuff.
It’s not hard to imagine with a large enough difference in ratio that Blues will be 2k per stack.
Market has a 5% tax on each transaction. It’s a gold sink. Recirculation removes gold from the economy so it reduces inflation. I think every mmo has this tax that has been designed for this.
Royal crystal to gold to blue crystal exchange also has the same tax, but once on the market pheons don’t have a tax anymore. So it ends up the acting like the same 5% tax that could’ve initially been on the gold itself.
Pheons also remove the lower end of the market because they set a minimum worth price for any item, meaning their own gold cost (for example purple accessories - nobody buys these). So it makes the market tax less effective since the market is used less.
Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean in a perfect world it’s not ok. In such a world the game has enough gold sink to compensate, there is no need for pheons to reduce inflation.
We’re definitely not in a perfect world however. Bots generate inflation because a part of their income comes from things like unas or rapport and rmt-ers increase the prices of blue crystals making pheons artificially more expensive disturbing the whale to f2p ecosystem the game intended to have.
We can argue that in Korea pheons are working as intended or great or fine or necessary. It’s not the case here.
I don’t believe there’s any reason to believe this is true. Unless rmt never gets solves which is an issue that would create the less swiping
It’s a cultural difference. In the west we have “Whales” while in the East everyone just swipes on the first week of the month. Majority do. So it’s matter of how much whales compensate.
Also instead of a steady flow like the East generally do. Whales max out hard.
This could be a factor in how the flow of RC > Blues comes into play.
It’s hard for me to say. I never understood the mindset. I was always to guy selling in the 90’s.
I absolutely agree pheons to move items between your own characters … why just explain why?!
