Players migrating from EUW to EUC should be allowed to maintain their founders pack and should receive the Gratitude Gift packs on EUC

Let me start off by saying AGS should never have made the temporary bandaid solution of EUW and encouraged new players to go there instead of EUC (and yes, I was stupid for listening to them). That server is dead and unless you only play at absolute peak hours, it is impossible to do group content such as field bosses, chaos gates, ghost ships, etc. And good luck finding groups for abyssal dungeons/raids. So players like myself on EUW are faced with the difficult choice of either quitting lost ark or restarting progress on EUC.

I am one of the players that have made the decision to restart on EUC instead of quitting which is setting me back hundreds of hours and hundreds of £’s, not to mention all the login rewards I have accumulated. I fully understand that there are no server transfers and I will lose everything in the switch. However,
players like me should at least be able to keep my founder’s pack bonuses which you can’t buy anymore, and we should receive the Gratitude Gift pack + decorations pack again.

Why the gratitude packs in particular? The gratitude gift pack and gratitude decorations pack were given to all players in (March?) to celebrate the successful western release. All new players who start new accounts even now can also still receive it. However, tough luck for anyone who claimed it on EUW, you cannot get this pack when starting fresh on EUC. Therefore, any players who have migrated from EUW to EUC will be the only players in the entire game who will not have this pack.

For anyone who has forgotten, these are the contents of the gratitude packs:

Q: Why don’t you raise a ticket with AGS support?
I have raised multiple tickets with AGS support and I am always met with the same generic response of “Server transfer functionality does not exist in Lost Ark”. And even when I explain that I am not asking for a server transfer, I am simply asking that these packs can be claimed on BOTH REGIONS, I still get met with the same response (do they even read the tickets?). There are no extra benefits or unfair advantages to anyone having these packs on both regions, nothing from the pack is tradeable and even if it was, nothing is tradable between regions. (and who is going to be playing on both regions simultaneously anyway?)

Q: Why don’t you just start a brand new account that will get the gratitude pack like all the other new players?
I did consider this, however, there are 3 main things stopping me:

  1. I would have to create a brand new Steam account, which won’t be verified, therefore, I would be restricted from trading until I make some purchases or set up 2FA (and I’ve already set up 2FA with my main Steam account).
  2. I don’t want to be logging in and out of Steam each time I switch games.
  3. I have crystalline aura saved up for multiple months that I would lose.

You can’t create new steam account with already used mail address? Set 2fa for mail you used to create steam account, problem solved.

You can have multiple accounts logged in at once at Windows, setup another profile with new steam account et voila.

Oooof size very big.

Basically you’re classic example of victim of propaganda, as soon as they said it’s going to be “closed-off” everyone should have a big red light flash in their head.

Completely agree. I started on Kadan when the queues were insane and I decided to move to EUW. EUW content is getting harder and harder to do and there certainly isn’t an influx of enough new players playing on EUW to help revive it, and the the AH/party finder is a disaster.

I started to level up a character again on EUC just in case nothing gets solved from SG for the low population on EUW and it’s sad to see literal robots running around in the gratitude gift skins lol. I couldn’t care less about the skins but the card packs and honing chests would be really useful starting again from level 50.

An official statement from SG saying they’re working on tech for region transfers would be great so we at least know what they plan on doing and then can plan ourselves on what is best to do, whether that’s quit, stay on EUW or grind again on EUC. A server transfer will sort nothing it has to be region.

I’m not in your situation and thus not following the situation as closely as you are, but if SG and / or AGS has said that they are working on tech for region transfers then surely wouldn’t it be best to stay put until this gets implemented? Or are their so few people you can’t realistically even play the game in EUW outside of peak times?

I know way back when before EUW got created AGS stated that they couldn’t add in any more servers to EUC; do you think this will prevent any merger between EUC and EUW? Or do you think they’ll create a new “zone” of EU and migrate both EUC and EUW to this new architecture? My knowledge of server architecture is woefully out of date but you’d think Amazon would be able to work out some way of connecting these two areas.

No. Everyone warned you guys if you move to west. You ignored it because you were impatient and you were crying about the very bad release.

Now take it. The decision was yours and the voices were loud.

So if a person heard about Lost Ark with all the hype surrounding its release and decides to download it to be presented with information pushing him to go to the new EUW servers he should have ignored it? That player is now in an area which is dying but screw him for following the publishers advice!

Also it heavily implies these people had made forum accounts and were reading all of your apparent warnings. For a person who wrote:

You do by extension seem to be asking for yourself to be reported and permanently banned for your toxic behaviour. Considering your statement above I would support such an action.

That’s the problem I’m having with getting what the plan is from them because so far the only statement is from the CM Roxx and it doesn’t say what is going to be worked on in terms of ‘tech’. If i knew they planned on doing region transfers or somehow connecting EUW to EUC in terms of Auction House and match making then I’d stay where I’m at until the tech is created.

But if their solution is merging servers within EUW this doesn’t fix anything at all apart from the odd world event which isn’t the main issue.

Good point about the EUC server limit. My understanding of server limitations and how all that works is non existent unfortunately which makes my decision in what to do even more confusing especially when we have events and power passes to level up classes which could be used on a populated server to catch up. I would just love an official statement saying what the plan is rather than being vague about what is being done.

I try and look in the forums / reddit for other people’s opinions and advice / any news about EUW and all I see is people saying “we told you from the beginning EUW would die it’s your own fault, just quit or join EUC” or “It’s going to take years they can’t even fix bots and the in game time”. Which just isn’t helpful lol.

Well I suppose the small hope their is that they are aware and the solution isn’t going to be ready ‘by the next patch’. This implies that it isn’t a 2023 problem but something they are working on. However as it’s a ‘tech’ problem they’ll end up having to do a cost analysis. How many players on EUW, average spend, attrition rates etc vs cost of tech implementation. With each person re-rolling on EUC or quitting that number skews and I wonder where the point is that it just isn’t worth implementing the solution; leaving the servers to die to a point they just turn them off. Of course I have no idea where those numbers sit, it could be a low cost solution or the number of players is still sufficiently high that it easily pays for itself or even that Amazon just swallows the cost.

Well I hope they find a way of migrating the servers across, and also from the sounds of things merge some of the servers together if individual server population are also on the floor. But they are aware of it and working on a solution; so the first two hurdles have been jumped. It’s just the final “implementing the solution” that remains. Now if they could do something about the shocking difference between those few lucky honers and the equally few unlucky honers…

For telling the truth that people like you constantly expecting stuff, constantly complaining and now you go hardmode in Manipulation by twisting words? You proof me right. We definitely need that.

And still no: This is the principle how kids have to learn. Put your hand on the hot turn table although everybody warned you but keep ignoring it. And now crying and expecting, why not asking for compensation?

This isn’t toxic? Okay. My thread is either responsible nor fault for you decision making.

Should have struggled with all of us on EUC … I logged in hours before work end through teamwiever on my phone to be able to play when i am home… Woke up like 4am on weekends and etc… No way in hell was i going to go to EUW because of some ques …

EUW was dead before launch anyone with some mmo experience could easily tell its gonna be dead in few months…

Whole twitter was screaming to the people “don’t do it” and what happened? They hardcore flamed AGS and this part of the players who attempted to help and warned them got smashed. I got insulted by myself for saying “do not move to EUW” multiple times.

And now they are here and doing the same shit again. AGS fixed that issues after four days.

I’d rather quit the game than start all over again. I can see how EUW players just all eventually stop playing the game. Just give them region merge

To everyone saying “it’s your own fault, we warned you not to go to EUW, now you must suffer”…

Yes, it’s my own fault for not doing research, but why am I expected to do research on a game before even playing it and knowing if I like it or not? It’s not as if I ignored your advice, I simply picked up Lost Ark a few weeks after launch, saw there was EUC and EUW, and chose EUW because that’s where I live. Only to later find out that it was a bandaid region designed to help EUC…

I’m not asking for extra compensation though, I’m asking to have the same shit as everyone else. As I pointed out in my original post even brand new players get these items. The only people on EUC who don’t get these items are people who claimed them on EUW.

True, I could wait. But if the rate AGS are releasing stuff that is already implemented into the game is anything to go by… I don’t expect this to happen in the next few years, and there’s no guarantee they’ll even do it at all. I could stay on EUW but then if it soon becomes completely unplayable I’ll have to restart anyway, so may as well do it sooner than later.

Yes, you are being toxic. The fact that you can’t see that just demonstrates how twisted you are. Because not only are you toxic but you’re deeply condescending:

You are assuming that these people are children even though it’s a mature game. Frankly your last sentence doesn’t even make sense, honestly it’s impossible to try to understand what you’re trying to convey so I really can’t make any comment on it.

So in short, you’re a toxic, condescending and hypocritical induvial; thus deeply flawed and lashing out at others. You have my pity, I suggest some mindfulness and probably professional help. In the mean time I would suggest staying away from the game and the forums as they are likely to draw out these horrible traits and intensify them over time. Have a nice day.

It’s not even worth engaging people like that.

I started playing few months after release and I had no idea euw was dying, I didnt have any problems finding a party for low level dungeons so I thought I picked a right server. Few hundred hours in, in t3 I started noticing delays in matchmaking, islands were empty if you joined 1-2min late, sailing events became impossible to complete at night and so on. As a new player how was I supposed to know euw is dead region. Its easy to say “go to euc”, would you be willing to make a new account now?
This problem needs a solution, dont let us suffer in vain, give us some information so we would know if there is any reason for us to spend time playing this game.

This. I got baited by impatient “friends” (who have since stopped playing) to start over on EUW. I put a lot of hours in this game already and while I would be okay-ish with leveling and gearing a character from scratch again, that would also mean having to do all the horizontal progression again, which is already a considerable time investment.
Then to top it all off, I would be loosing all the goodies I collected, like the gratitude packs and even worse, things I spend real money on. I’d lose my vanquisher pack and my skin.
I have invested money as well as time in the game and simply losing all of that because of mismanagement from AGS’s side is simply not okay. AT LEAST give us the ability to reclaim all those things on EUC. I cannot and will not simply re-purchase everything on EUC as if it was nothing.
I already decided to stop putting any more money into this game until an acceptable solution is in sight. And if EUW dies, I’m gone and so will be my trust in AGS to properly manage any game they might release in the future. I got burnt, and it’s not gonna happen again.

You may have missed the early statements by Roxx, but I doubt they have changed.

She said two very important things,

  1. EUC does have a server cap, because of that cap they had to open a second region as 16 was the maximum amount of realms EUC could hold. This should tell you, that they cant just add our 8 realms to EUC.

  2. EUC realms do have a max player cap they can hold. When AGS did raise that cap on their own behalf, the game become choppy and poor in perfomance so they had to implement the queue system and lower the cap again. This should tell you, that they cant just let everyone on EUW transfer to EUC servers of their choice, but be spread out on the already existing realms, due the caps.

I dont know which EUC realms are what, my realm there is very empty, much more than my EUW. My EUW is a full english realm, my EUC is a mixed nationality realm with poor community.

What I am saying with this is the following. If they would offer transfers, then there is a high chance that we can not keep our names, that we might end up split and that we couldnt pick our favorite realm / language.

Punika and Asta are mostly german realms, it is quite possible that the geman players could not transfe to Asta, but may need to go to another realm which may be Italian or Spanish. I already see the outcry over this, just like when communities will be split.

At WOW, realm transfers always changed the community and balance on a realm and at Warhammer and SWTOR, they even caused deleted chars.

Its a very sensitive topic and AGS would need to find many answers first to the aleady announced problems by Roxx. It seems that they have no solution yet, thats why you dont hear anything new.

A good solution would be that they just connect both regions, like WOW does with spanish, german, english regions into one european. So you stay where you are, but meet people from other realms in dungeons and open world.

Last but not least, never underestimate how important a server community, even if its small and a char name even if it sounds niche for you, is for some people. Its a very sensitive topic and if AGS uses a crowbar here, then this could be the final nail in the coffin for LA, like it was with Warhammer once.

Right now, EUW may have a less busy AH, even tho I never had issues buying things for my Bard. It may also have less players for hardcore content, even tho I had never more than one minute of queue for anything I did so far which is not the endgame you may struggle finding players for.

What I am saying is, that EUW is in a much better shape than many are saying here. Its just a much more casual region, so that you will meet more casuals and this may be the true reason why people want to move.

Its less the amount of players, but more their attitude or skill that drives people away. Just like I never felt home at EUC and why it feels dead to me. So who knows, maybe the vast majority on EUW is just happy with how things are, who knows.

You raised some good points there. I play on Moonkeep and in general I would say the server population there is maybe a bit on the lower side, but still okay. You find people for open world content like chaos gates unless you try them at very unreasonable times. I am also happy with the community there.
The only thing that is currently an issue to me are the auction house and group finder. I play gunlancer and finding the accessories I need is troublesome. I get by for now with some patience and daily checking, but if region population decreases further (and it probably will) I see trouble coming there.

As you said, who ends up on what EUC server is definitely a sensitive topic, as are character names - I have some I am very attached to and would hate to give up, too - and guild names. And nobody wants their group of friends/guild/community torn apart during a merge. This is not an issue that needs to be given good thought and can’t be solved overnight.

Ideally, at least in my opinion, servers on EUW should be merged withn the region to create a healthier server pop for those that are not lucky enough to be on Moonkeep. Then provide some cross-region AH and group finder functionality and we are good. I am no programmer and this is certainly easier said than done, but this is my dream solution.
But if all of that is not possible and we will have to deal with moving to EUC and all the nastiness that comes with that, I want to at least be able to take my purchases with me.

So if my previous post was worded quite harshly, that is mainly due to concern about how things will be further down the road. I care, and I want AGS to care, too, but so far with what little communication I was able to find from their side it does not instill trust. They need to start thinking about it now (which I suppose they are, but they are not communicating it) so they have a solution ready if the situation gets any worse.
I don’t want a half-arsed solution now, but something along the lines of “hang in there, we are caring about it and working on finding the best solution, there will be a solution but it will take roughly x months” would be very appreciated and reassuring.
