Sounds good.
However, wouldnt 32:9 offer an absolute and brutal advantage in pvp ?
For example in albion online, you cant ever have that, as that is full loot pvp mmorpg.
So here, people would be essentially Forced to use it in pvp. If you play just 21:9 ( or whatever it is ), the game looks like crap with normal monitor. Imagine 32:9 - it would be even worse.
For that reason alone, i dont think its gonna work out.
Considering 32:9 is wider left and right and not up and down it would be no advantage in a game where you can already see the whole PvP arena in the same view left and right.
The only view you get cut off on in PvP is Top and Bottom of your screen.
This person is playing forced 21:9 on 16:9 notice how you can see all of the arena left right? 32:9 would let you see the railing and outside of the arena…nothing extra
You think 20% or more have 32:9 Monitors?
Where do you live? Most ppl don’t even have 21:9 Monitors. I am one out of 2 in my static that has one.
I don’t play with a single person that has a 32:9 one.
I’d guess maybe 2% of the playerbase has one and is affected as such.
Lol, I played for months with Black Bars in order to use 21:9 before I got mine.
I would certainly not quit over the game not supporting fringe hardware that less than 2% of gamers have…
Because I run a website for ultrawide fixes that gets 100mil+ clicks a month? We would fix lost ark but Anti Cheat prevents that, so it is up to Smilegate/AGS.
The price of a 32:9 monitor dropped in the past 4 years from 1400$ to 600$ making it more accessible. For example this one is only 700$
Just because it’s out of your price range, something you’ve never experienced so you think others can suffice, and the lack of overall knowledge in something you don’t own, leaves me to believe you shouldn’t even be here commenting anyway
I am also just sitting on the fence and waiting for Ultra-wide support for Lost Ark. And IMHO it´s maybe not the smartest move to rely on people who can’t even afford a proper monitor, if you run a free to play mmorpg And btw. the issue is not solved, the “solution” here only cleared out that a 32:9 support wouldn’t hurt the PvP, but nothing happened in direction of supporting the 32:9 at all. At least not as far as I know.
5 people own them, but they are 5 very entitled people. Balance wise, its no different from their forced 21:9, so thats not an issue. Its just that basically no one uses them so why spend resources supporting a feature 0.1% of the player base uses.
They probably just need to enter in some values to allow for this. Like less than 5 minutes worth of work. UI elements are already designed to automatically snap to the sides/center to allow for any resolution.
going by steam hardware survey 32:9 aspect ratios are so popular they don’t even make it on the list and fall under “Other”, below 1024 x 768 (0.23% users)
well if even Half Life from 1998 is supporting 32:9 so it must be a truely hard task for a current game to support this now…
And yes there are screens apart from SVGA and full HD, I mean Samsung is going for the 3rd gen of Odyssey G9 already…
btw on multi monitor resolution the 32:9 wide 5120x1440 have a solid 6.60%
