People want a OCE nominated server because all the event timings are tied to local server time. It will make doing certain content incredibly difficult for us (assuming you’re working, a student or have other commitments during the day).
From Perth it will rarely drop below 200ms. I tested this during beta with a few VPNs.

Play if you want it is free after all, if haven’t played it’s worth a go.
AMG and Smilegate don’t seem to give a shit about the Aussies or Kiwis or any of the oceanic regions, not even sure why they even bothered with it in the first place to add us in, we can already play much better refined versions of the game using a vpn on the Russian, Korean or Japanese servers already.
Amazon games has never managed to release any games that didn’t flop in the end, judging by how things are currently being handled I would be surprised if they don’t stuff up Lost Ark.
To Amazon Games here’s wishing you will not destroy lost ark and make it a success for the NA/EU players.
To my fellow Aussies and Kiwis and all the other oceanic players out there, hopefully by some miracle one day our voices will be heard. Till then I will go back and play my other game.

I mean I’m also playing FFXIV Online. When the OCE community moved to the new data center, we all felt the changes. It’s like a new game for us, we actually have to re learn a few things cuz we don’t have to take into account of the lag. If this is the case with Lost Ark, I just hope we get a server sooner…

I want you to know that we are listening but unfortunately, at this time there are no plans to set up servers for Australia and other countries in the Oceania region. Amazon does not have the rights to publish Lost Ark in any additional regions.

Amazon would not be “publishing” the game here, Steam are already doing that, the game is available for sale here. Simply hosting extra servers on the AWS AP-Southeast region would not constitute “publishing” the game here, but merely hosting a localised server to this region that the game is already for sale in so that sounds purely like an excuse to me.

With the greatest respect, I think a lot of the frustration comes from the lack of communication. We’re obviously glad you’re listening, but never once has anyone explained why local servers aren’t on the cards. First we’re excluded from the Western release of the game, then we’re added almost as an afterthought and told to enjoy a subpar experience. It feels like we’re not valued as customers.
If you explained why you don’t want to provide local servers, addressed some of our concerns, and whether you ever have any intention of providing OCE servers it would go a long way.
Just to summarize the most common feedback again:
a. Ping is horrendous from OCE to NA.
b. Event timings are based on server time(!).
c. Our characters will/may be locked to NA.
d. Our purchases will/may be locked to NA.
We understand some of this will not be answerable until you well and truly decide your plans for OCE (if you haven’t already). However, they’re all factors that determine whether a lot of people will bother playing. No one wants to waste time on a failed venture.

We do appreciate the update. Could you answer that ‘If’ an OCE server was added in the future could we transfer to the new server from NA? After spending $130 aud on the founders platinum pack I would hate to see my character locked on a server from a different region with my founders skins.

The fact that LA does not have OS is only to do with Amazon trying to protect New World, new world is already on the ocean bottom grasping for air… Just use the now Vacant New World Servers for LA!!! Problem solved!

“We are listening” doesn’t have much stock in it. We just want more of a response than that.
- Why aren’t we getting them?
- Is it something that may be considered down the line?
- Is there any development of region transfers in the works? (If there is an Oce server ever in the future, or simply for those that move from NA to Europe for etc)
- Event timings, they are going to screw us, is anything being done or do we just have to sleep and wake up at 4am or not work around 2pm?
- Any plans to gain publishing rights of SEA, so that an Oceanic server might be considered in the future?
Literally give us anything other than “we are listening”. We are tired of that lazy PR response.

There was never official documentation stating that we were promised servers.
Don’t get it twiested, I want them to happen but let’s not go around spouting false info.

So. What are our options?
Continue to +1. Have as many people from OCE playing the game regardless of being a paying customer or not. Prove on a corporate level that the business VIABILITY is present as we have in WoW, FF, League. WHICH by the way all got their servers AFTER the fact.
Do this civilly with no false info, no blackmail or extortion tactics.
You want your voices to be heard and taken seriously? Do it properly. With real, hard numbers. If you want to add your voice a +1 is more than enough.
